They already have. According to the HL2 Dev team. Half-life 2: EP1 and EP2 are really Half-life 3: EP1 EP2 etc.

i dont want to sound negative, so i'll start off with: Very good effort mate, i can see this took alot of time and work and i congradulate you for that, but... yes but, it may only be me, but the scenes seemed a little random and looked like they didnt fit with the current bit of the music, otherwise, good job, and taht flash movie was great wasnt it :p

But its not true, the Episodes are to fill gaps in the story. Half Life 3 MAY happen ,it may not, all we know is that EP3 isnt the last we shall see of the Half Life Universe, but It may be the last of a one Gordan Freeman
