As someone who worked with hammer a bit, I’ll agree it’s easier to put brushes down to make pathways, but it looks nicer to make it out of props.

I've tried both. For me it's easier to make a non-symmetrical room out of metal doors than to make a room out of the block tool, but to make something high quality takes more time.

the save was constructed from props being pieced together, I'm certain you can make something just as good with the effort put into decoration and enemy placement.

I remember uploading a 5-part series of saves back in 2014-2015 in gm_bigcity called "The Escape." Entierly made with HL2 props and NPCs, no addons (except for gm_bigcity), and utilized the Source Engine's physics for solving puzzles in-between combat sections. My saves are still getting views to this day, and they each have at least a 4-star rating on them last time I checked! If you do plan on doing another video like this, I'd appreciate it if checked my saves out! Word of advice, I reccomend loading into them with "ignore players" enabled in the AI settings, since these saves will load you in front of enemies away from the starting point (I made these saves back when saves didn't load you from where exact position the save was made. Also, apologies if my description of where you start from isn't clear. I tried my best to describe where you start).

hi maker of THE CLIMB here that was some fine climbing there Jokes aside please play the save in singleplayer with all the required addons installed and enabled. ESPECIALLY STARFALLEXGIGA, that's the most important one. I put a lot of effort into it scenebuilding the map and coding the parkour system, which unfortunately wasn't present because you didn't have the required addon enabled.

I made sure everything was enabled beforehand, but it may have been borked due to our other parkour-ish addons we had installed at the time. I'll have to give it a go on my own some time with all my addons disabled except for The Climb and its requirements. The scenebuilding looked great btw!

@@DeadwaterGaming There was a shot in the vid where I saw that StarfallExGiga was darker colored (disabled) so that's why I mentioned that. Also it was never tested or made for MP so it's possible the code errored just because of that if you had it enabled.

@@DeadwaterGaming I just checked again to see if I hadn't somehow broken the save after updating Starfall and it seems to be working just fine. So it should be fine with the proper conditions (SP + Addons). But hey if you get an error or something feel free to plop in the workshop comments or whatever.
