I think that was after a 1 ir 2 weeks. In "aprehension" chapter, before you get the crossbow, the scientist tell that the icky was found on the Challenger deep, and it was there for almost a week.

Apart from starting with 0 armor and half a magazine, real marines wear armor and carry a few spare mags for their primary and secondary weapons, a knife, and a sidearm Realistically you should start with full armor, a knife, maybe 100 spare rounds for your MP5, a sidearm with a couple of extra mags, and maybe a grenade or 2 That would make it more realistic, and since the mod is stingy with ammo anyway, it's not all that unbalanced

spongedog 001 I agree with you...The mode had a promising start and it was cool to see the test chamber again but all of this "closing the rift" business is unnecessary because Freeman and the Lambda team tried to do that ( close the rift) by sending Freeman to Xen so he can destroy Nihilanth...another point about the test chamber is that the mass spectrometer uses alot of power and after the first test Black Mesa was on reserve generators and most of the equipment was damaged beyond a simple relay repair...and what about the ending? A cheesy train ride followed by a simple chopper rescue? As I understand it, A. Shepherd was detained because he was a vitness...these soldiers weren't? The story is too unreal, but the levels are well designed
