Get Psyched! Mistakes pointed out so far. 1. At 4:00. when discussing the MP-40 otherwise known as the "Fascist machine". I mentioned that it first saw service in 1939 during the German invasion of Poland. I was wrong. The main SMG used by the Germans during the invasion of Poland was the MP-38 a predecessor to the MP-40. The reason I left this unmentioned is due to the near complete lack of changes between the two guns. As such I felt bringing it up was unnecessary. I'll let you be the judge of whether or not my decision was justified. P.S. The MP-40 still first saw service in 1939. Also, the MP-40 may have been used experimentally during the invasion of Poland. But I'm uncertain at the moment.

In RTCW (Return to Castle Wolfenstein) the weapons have a distinctive design and look very good. Not only this fact I can take into account, but also some details such as the Sten weapon, which has a superb visual and coincides with real life, the sten being overheated stops and the fire rate drops drastically. This clip is very good, I liked it a lot, keep it up!!!

9:34 Ammo boxes for Venom in original RTCW say .50 caliber, while the official in-game documentation (which we take in the level that comes right after the tank escorting mission) says Venom is chambered for 7.92*57 (?), just like MG-42. In RealRTCW MG-42 and Venom share one pool of "Machinegun ammo", so I believe it was planned to add Browning M1919 or some other 'Murican LMG that uses .50 cal.

Possibly, speculation aside I'll consider it a developer oversight for the sake of the Videos consistency. Until such a time when I can get in contact with Gray Matter studios................ oh wait.

I think that's either the case or the devs just re-used the ammo can from the multiplayer portion

I think you forgot the flamethrower and the explosives category in RTCW, but great video overal!

Appreciate the feedback @olescuandrei1555. The reason I didn't include the flamethrower, and the Panzerfaust is that I originally intended to only cover the "Guns" of Wolfenstein. My definition of Guns being any firearm that fires cartridge-based projectiles or just has gun in its name like the Tesla gun for example. In retrospect, I realize that I should have made this evident in the video. Knowing of course that the terms gun and weapon are often used interchangeably in similar videos. In any case, I've since made the decision to ditch my original plan in favor of covering every firearm, so anything handheld that goes boom. In other words, stay tuned for EP 3.

I wouldnt be 'that guy' if I wasn't Polish myself lol. It was MP39 debuting in combat, not MP40. MP40 was a modernization introduced in (you guessed it) 1940. We got rekt by Heinz in 1939. ;) MP40 is a lighter and cheaper MP39 made out of sheet metal instead of milled steel. Almost the same weapon. And that's the end of the 'achkschually', have a nice day!

Thanks for the insight @denudenovsky. You are absolutely right about the MP-38 coming into service first. I decided not to point out the MP-38 in the video because of how identical it is to the MP-40, as you mentioned. Regardless they are both still different guns, and I should have pointed it out. For the sake of redemption, I'll add an advisory disclosing this in my pinned comment. Thanks again for pointing it out. P.S. I'm sure Poland would have succeeded in 1939 if the Allies had held up their end of the Alliance and invaded Germany, while their entire Army was in Poland. Alternative History aside. Greetings from Texas! And Niech żyje Polska!

Your comment of "the complete dominance of firearms throughout human history" is one of those that has a grain of truth, but is on its face, largely incorrect. Firearms are a relatively recent development in military history. In fact a large amount of things that we take for granted are extremely recent. One thing to note about how rapid modern military weapons have evolved is the fact that the time period between the development of bronze swords and steel swords is longer than the time between steel swords and nuclear weapons. Bronze swords first appeared in 3000 BCE and Steel Swords in 500 BCE (2500 years), while nuclear weapons were first used in 1945 (2445 years). This window is even smaller when looking at firearms. While firearms were first fielded in the 14th century, they did not see widespread use until the 16th century. That being said, they were extremely inaccurate until the widespread use of rifling and more aerodynamic projectiles, as well as smokeless powder were used in the 19th century. In fact most of the common features of what we would call "modern firearms" are no more than 200 years old. So yes, firearms helped to shape military history, but for most of it, you could not safely say that they achieved "complete dominance".

Thanks for your clarification @STepanHAmbroski. I can see how what I said could come as somewhat disingenuous. However, I was more so referring to late human history. AKA the last 300 years or so. In conclusion, I'll have to agree to disagree. As while I should have better clarified what I meant. I never stated firearms achieved complete throughout the "entirety" of human history. I just said throughout, which I believe works in this context. So yeh.
