I will never understand why people would want to live in these big houses especially after growing up in one. Big houses equal bigger payments, bigger taxes, bigger electric, water and gas bills and then both parents have to work 24/7 to pay those bills. Why is this our dream? I watched my father die from Alzheimer’s and he needed his family and we all took care of him.. when we die nothing in this life can go with us except the feelings of love we get from our family being around us. Buy a small house it can be beautiful, pay it off and live your life for yourself and your family. Thank you for sharing sir!

Beautiful home and property, but expensive to maintain. Not only could they not afford the rent, but they couldn't afford to maintain the pool or the deck. But they had a house full of kid toys as well as stuff they bought for themselves that wasn't as important as paying the rent. Hopefully, they will find something smaller, cheaper and easier to maintain.

I could so easily become a hoarder. but I have to donate or give things away. My place is so full of expensive things that I can't get rid of. Wish I could have a yard sale but I am in an apartment. I have no family left that I can give things to. I am battling cancer and afraid of what will happen to my things if something bad were to happen. Won't be cheap but you get some funds, and you get rid of the headache. Just be careful and do your research. There are a lot of people out there that would not be there for you but for themselves. What kills me is in the first part the guy honestly thought he was going to continue living there for months on end past March because his court date was going to be rescheduled, but didn’t even make attempts to contact the courts and check in and see if they had rescheduled the date, ect. You really think you’re going to continue to live there when you’re already in the process of being evicted and the CV-19 moratorium has been over? This guy totally used and abused the owners of them home and took advantage of their kindness towards their situation and when the owners had enough and it was time for them to go and they wouldn’t budge on eviction day by accepting his all the sudden payment of 30K, this guy got very nasty and wanted to get violent. It’s unfortunate that people did take advantage of the moratorium. I had some friends that “claimed” forbearance on their homes, just so they could use there mortgage or rent money to go on trips and buy expensive items. I was a bit taken back because my husband doesn’t think like that. We never took and cuts , even when I returned to work 4 months postpartum from my daughter. I’m a lab technician, I work around many people and illnesses. I got Covid and didn’t know it and gave it to my family. Thankfully my workplace paid me an entire months worth due to contracting it when they said we weren’t in an “outbreak.” But we never claimed that through our leasing manager. She was a cheapskate too. She didn’t tell anyone about the funds she received for the property to have as back up if renters couldn’t pay due to job loss, sickness from Covid etc

It was probably about $3k a month for rent. It said in the previous video that the house was worth $500k. I personally rent a house that value and that is what we pay. It also said they were behind $21k in rent, which would evenly divide into $3k for seven months. The homes in that area are pretty cheap- That home would cost way more than $500K in most places.

I’ll add to my previous reply that our rental home is average with a dinky yard. That home is amazing. I’m guessing the pool was shut down for a reason. The rest of the place looked great. Personally, I probably wouldn’t want a home that big unless I could also afford to pay someone else to clean it, and if the increase in utility costs wouldn’t bother me.

I hate when people criticize others just because they live in one. Plus these people were living in a mini mansion and probably fell in hard times. Sell the stuff many people do when hit with hard times. That child isn't going to care about a Cinderealla hot wheels car when she's living on the street. She's not going to care about all the pretties when she has no where to sleep. This was on the parents and if he had health problems I'm sorry about that but I'm really wondering if he wasn't using that as some type of excuse to stay. The house has been let go. Looks like it’s been that way since before the 1990’s. What a depressing place with the paneling and it’s so dark and dismal. They probably rented it for a lot less than the going rate because of the condition. The utilities are a fortune. Looks like grandpa works but probably doesn’t make a lot and grandma stays home. They probably have the grandkids come over to keep them company. It appears that they stopped paying rent months ago. They used the biggest excuse that they didn’t get the notice in the mail. They thought it would stall the eviction but all it did was get their stuff put out on the wet grass in the rain and grandpa has to load it all by himself. They have no home, no place for their belongings, grandpa can’t work so that probably wasn’t the best decision to not show up in court. If they don’t pay the $30k, they garnish his salary and ruin his credit.
