We were at Half Moon Cay in June. It was absolutely stunning and I can’t wait to go back. I am so glad you mentioned the heat. It was brutal! My mom who is 70 required medical assistance. It was just too much for her. Carnival really needs to invest in water and cooling stations along the road back to the ship. We saw young and old passing out due to the heat.

We did a cabana in October. Money well spent. It was so amazing. I would recommend getting a higher number cabana. The higher the number the farther from the crowds. We were in cabana 14 and no one was close to us.

The 2 story ones with a bathroom and hot tub are called villas. Cabanas are the smaller ones.

You can rent them in advance. I’m actually on the Carnival Sunshine right now. It’s recommended that you book in advance as they sell out. Prop up the back as is suggested in the video. Also make sure you put something on the two lounge chairs in the clamshell while you’re in the water to prevent squatters. The water is magnificent and the sand is like flour.

HAL bought it, then HAL was bought by Carnival. Carnival has gotten permission from the Bahamian government to dredge to put in a cruise ship pier at HMC so they won’t have to use tenders anymore. Est. Completion 2024.
