And "the ball is always round". Croatia is a great and strong team. Football isn't just about scoring, it's about defending and controling the game. Croatia had their chances, and took one of them. That makes them more efficient. Brazil had more chances, but failed to score. So I might even say that Brazil's attack wasn't so good at all because if it was, they would have scored. If you really think Croatia was "lucky" to reach 2 world cup semi finals in a row without losing a game, then Brazil was also equally "lucky" to reach the quarter finals. Then you know absolutely nothing about football.

When I was a kid, Brazil was elite, made it to three straight championship matches and won 2 of them (R9 was sick in 98). They're still good, win matches and produce sensational goals but they can't seem to make it back to the Finale.

Sadly Brazilian players have long ago lost what made them so special. Their players are not playing as a team, but a bunch of stars or stars wanna be. In the past they played, knowing each other’s strengths and explored that. They worked together and the games left you at the edge of your seat. They were not seeking “the look how good I am” or “help the star make the goal”. I wish their coach would remind them why they are there. Their purpose should be of bringing the “hexa” home, make their country and fans proud of the “futebol de raça e ginga”. I loved to watch Pelé, Garrincha, Kaká, Zico, Sócrates, Éder, and so many others play. They were not content with 1 goal,they played with the same passion all 90 minutes, regardless of the score. Oh well, maybe next time.
