We saved the Pom when Jezz the Shepherd was about a year old. Winnie the Pom barely got to 4 lbs or so, and was healthy but so small. I think the person we rescued her from did get her at a shop but I don’t have all that info. I know the guy was going to be mean to her and my man said no and scooped her up and brought her home. Was just a baby puppy. My platonic love affair lasted 14 years. RIP girls! Miss you both so much!

Andy Ferguson : I can almost assure you that you would feel differently if you ever owned a tiny dog. You can get so close to them they are always cuddlers . I’ve had dogs all my life, but the last dog I had a 5 pound Maltese was The closest thing to being a child to me. There’s something about their fragility that brings out the parent in you.❤️ my brother was a hunter and always had beagles, but the dog he adored more than any dog he ever had was a 6 pound toy poodle. I think he love that dog as much as all of his children.

I agree totally with their fragility and benign dependence on their human bros and sisters. I have learnt later in life to take small dogs as they are and one at a time. These angels have such unique personalities and clearly have souls (IMHO) for what my opinion is worth. A Tze Tsu (spelling...sorry) was my turning point. He was NOT a yapper or yipper or nipper. He was, per my friends who adopted him a "big dog in a small dog's body". There we are--back to my bias for big dogs. But, it's there, I'm aware of it and I deal with it one small dog at a time. Like Pani. He stole my heart b/c of his toughness and resilience and his human response to his situation when Tedi was brought into his life. What human wouldn't sleep with one eye open in the jungles of the big cities? What human who went w/o food for days, I'm sure, wouldn't hoard his/her food, demand it be brought on demand, and yell when someone else was eating a big cheeseburger and offering none? I saw myself and everyone who has struggled in thie world in Pani. A closing note (sorry I'm so long-winded friends; but Pani is special as is Tedi): Does anyone else have this reaction to pugs (the small dogs who taught me about individuality of and specialness of small dogs although I am and always will be first and foremost a big dog lover): The original classic Boris Karloff version of "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas"--the Whos down in Whoville...when I look at pugs with those expressive eyes and soulful constant look of bewilderment on their faces...they're WHOS!!! I mean it! The Whos from Whoville, including Suzi Q Who are...pugs. LOL. Thanks again Tedi. You are an angel. And Pani--stiff upper lip and Keep Calm and Carry On little buddy!

This looks like the sad outcome of a poorly bred, under sized yorkie(s). Stop buying dogs but especially yorkies and small dogs advertised as “teacups”. It’s not a real thing. Often you’re buying runts bred with other runts which is immoral one but two will likely end up with the puppies having many health issues as well as shorten or kill the tiny mothers life who shouldn’t have ever been bred. Also if your dog has seizures look in to helping them using CBD.

Im glad you were able to save him. We had a tiny chihuahua like that just smaller and his neck was not formed right .Always in pain. We did what we could but he passed away on my chest one morning about 10 weeks old. i still miss him and tend his grave. That was 20 years ago.

He was friends with my mom's bird Socrates he was a green parrot. Every mourning Socrates would wake chewie up by saying "Chewy" over and over again until he come up to Socrates and Socrates would happily yell "CHEWY!" I wish I could have met Socrates. No, not at all bizarre! I The color change is because Chewie was shaved and that is his skin color and his color changed as his fur grew out again! Do not get a pet until you learn at least the basics about fur...

As it happens, I already share my life with a beautiful 13 y.o. shih tzu, whose gold colour is much like Chewie's golden pics. Her coat colour's the same whether it's shaved or long, which is why I was surprised. Imagine telling someone, "Do not get a pet until you learn at least the basics about fur..."? What a thing to say. Maybe you want to lecture people on the basics of grooming, though - since many dogs (like Yorkies and Silkies and Shih Tzu) end-up shaved due to neglectful matting.

Yorkie and many other breeds go through fur color changes as they age- just like humans! It takes many breeds such as poodles 18 months for their color to “ settle”- black poodle “ silver out” as the agenand many dogs develop white muzzles as they age!

Your not the only one that noticed. I noticed it too as well as his ears were different sizes too. Could be he was very malnourished. I had a cat we were fostering and when we first got her she was so skinny with huge ears that she look like a white rat with blue eyes then after being with my family for so long she started getting healthier, thicker, her white hair more brighter and shinier and her ears looked smaller. Could be that her head grew as well since she was a really young cat and was growing

When I adopted my girl as a retired breeder, she'd been recently bred with a Maltese - yet her pups were a dark brindle brown - darker than either of their parents. I've seen two of them grown, and they're both nearly white. And that's right that black poodles often "silver-out," as you say (good expression) - it seems to happen to the best of us as we age! The vid confused me bc the dog's appearance seemed to switch back-and-forth - but I never thought or meant to suggest it was 2 different dogs!
