Isn't it necessary to allow for a seam allowance around the rectangle?

You would make sure that your template did include seam allowance.

I went to buy your ruler on Amazon but there's no seam allowance and wondering why you didn't show how to cut with a seam allowance otherwise you'll cut your point off in the seam? Somewhat new to quilting. Does it make a difference how it's being used in a pattern maybe?

The cut size would include the seam allowance. Points will not be cut off.
