My dad drove a truck for 35 years before retiring. He brought in over 85k some years bc he consistently worked 55 hours every week. Would have worked more if the laws would have let him. We used to come in on the weekends sometimes and wash the trucks for extra cash as well. Not too many lazy truckers out there.

My husband works graveyard security for an LA School District, 21 schools, just to keep the schools safe from, vandalism, theft, homeless trespassing and sleeping on the property and to make sure workers are safe when they arrive. It's scary because he confronts so many who are aggressive and high out of their minds. You wouldn’t think that this type of job is even necessary for elementary & middle schools. 😢 Sad that I have to worry about his safety every night he goes to work.

I have the greatest respect for all those put their lives in danger to protect and save others. My Grandfather was classified as a WW1 hero, but for me his true hero status came after the war. His courage, his tenacity, and never give up or complain what life has dealt you. . He was from a poor fishing village. He lost his arm from the war, but he never gave up. He married raised for children, hunted and fished with mesmerizing expertise. He did more with one arm than any man I have ever known did with two. He was precise with everything he did. And most importantly he was a loving , humble man , that never complained and would help anyone in need.

I loved ur reaction 2 this song. I'm really glad that Tom wrote this in appreciation 2 the people/workers that don't get the recognition they deserve. Some people don't realize that we wouldn't have some of these things we have now if it wasn't 4 the everyday workers. I'm gonna show my friend/neighbor this song & I can almost guarantee that they'll say thank u. Several months ago my neighbor came knocking on my door in the middle of the night panicking cuz her roommate wasn't waking up or breathing right. So while she was on the phone with dispatch I carefully moved him on2 the fl (where I found a crack pipe) & started chest compressions, they told me not 2 do mouth 2 mouth since it way an od. I just continued with compressions til the EMT's got there & used narcan, they all said that if I hadn't known what 2 do he wouldn't b here. I don't consider myself a hero at all, I just happen 2 b awake & knew CPR. EMT's, firefighters, dr's & nurses are the real heroes. I just wanted 2 share my story with u cuz if u think bout it, any1 can b a hero. Even just talking 2 a neighbor if they look stressed out or sad making them feel like they aren't alone, it could just b a sm thing that could help them & just like that u could b their hero. I love u guys, much ❤

Sad to break it to you, but as a former military and LEO, I can speak for most of us that the most time was spent helping others as best we could. It's not always combat and chasing criminals. The most rewarding times were when we get to help the communities and people needing even the slightest bit of help. It was those times when I felt as if I actually had 'super powers', to see someone smile or just get even some of that 'weight' off their shoulders, to take that next step.
@AnyaMidkiff6 ай бұрын
I liked it. It wasn't a banger or anthem, but it was a good message and pleasant to hear. But Half is right on that line about evil. Maybe it should be "They MAY not fight evil"?
@Prozak636 ай бұрын
Some 10-15 years ago, the AHA removed rescue breaths for untrain or lay people so they would concentrate on chest compressions alone. There is still oxygen in the blood system and needs to be circulated. People trained in CPR will perform 2 rescue breaths after every 30 chest compressions. Side note: people are often hesitant to attempt CPR because of rescue breathing, which often results in vomiting if done incorrectly.
