The old rusted out shell of what use to be a car, is coming together as a cool ride. I know you can see it in your head, but once the cardboard engineering is done and the piece is cut out and in place I get to see it. Coming together nicely!

Love to see the firewall stay the same with just the holes filled in with plugs and grommets. Do love to see the bumps, holes and dimples of a factory firewall. A totally smooth firewall gives me a 1980s vibe of a fibreglass street rod

A lot of people just can't wrap their heads around creating a cool looking, LS powered, old street rod, out of the pretty much, next to nothing you started with , designing a very right looking , one off, combined with some good quality steel here and there , plus your roll of surplus /salvage floor steel so thick , it will barely roll up, which with the beads , it's perfect. Once secured , some dead-ner , pad , carpet and seats, it'll be all good. Nice work!

That sheet metal is probably above ground swimming pool wall. Galvanized on one side and heavy paint on the other. I used some that was 4' wide & corrugated every 1/4" as roofing on a carport in direct sunlight back in 2000 and it looks just like the day it was installed. A great find.

32:37 magnets work for that kind of stuff really well. Whenever i do reskins for floors, i use four neodymium magnets for it and they're excellent to stick the floor plate down. Obviously, you can do clamps here, but when the car's more complete, it's impossible unless you have some really ridiculous reach clamps.

I just bough one of those drum sanders(exfoiliator) from PA. Came with the wire wheel, works well.except its heavy! The PA drums are scotchbrite and sandpaper combined, 60 grit seems to work ok, still have to give more testing. I really like my jigsaw for cutting my sheet metal,blade lasts a long time.
@HalfassKustoms
@HalfassKustoms Жыл бұрын
Yeah this was not as nice as that personally I would probably buy the PA one when it's on sale over what I have I put a 40 grit there cheaper on Amazon than you can buy them at PA. That said 40 grit still feels like a scotch Brite.

Once the floor pan is your not going to see any of it anyways once the floor detner is in and padding and rug. That way you don't hear anything. Helps with installation also. Like all your other builds once the upholstery is in never see any of the metal work that is under it. Use what you have.👍🏽looking great Brent. It's hard to believe it's two car's put together to make one fine machine.
