As others suggested, the big space behind the front wheels might be cured by moving the cab forward, or, filling it with exhaust headers. Even putting some sheet metal to cover the opening might give a different perspective before you commit . It’s all good.

Brent this bobber is turning out killer, it's giving off that military hotrod era during the 90's/2000's, awesome work once again brent, Ultimate Hotrod/Ratrod Bobber Budget Build 👌🏾🇦🇺 I was born in the 2000's so I don't actually know if the military hotrod era went back that far or if we even indulged in that side of the scene, we got a few hotrod shows here in Australia but no ratrods or stuff like that from what I've seen, or I just need to apply myself and go to more shows 😂👍🏾🇦🇺

And my VW bug has a 99 inch wheel base , your truck looks Cool!

This thing is really getting super COOL!!! How about finding a 90s super charged GM 3800 V6 for a power plant might fit better and you should be able to find a decent Buick LeSabre or Park Avenue cheap enough. I had one I put 300,000 on sold it to a kid for 350$ and he drove it for 2years before the body rotted away. 😉

Personally, I think the wheel base is just right. The front of the hood coming up to right up to about the leading edge of the tire looks great, and I think you'll diminish the look if you move the axle back. If anything, a little rubber out ahead of the truck would be even cooler. Just fill the gap between the rear of the rubber and the front of the door with exhaust pipe. Leaving the sides open will help, too. That said, she's your rig and you gotta look at 'er every day, so do what you gotta do!

Get that wheel base much shorter and your in for a world of back pain, especially if you plan to boogie around fields. I think once you have the engine in with some honking big exhast pipe it will fil up that space nicely. I'm on board with keeping the grill, the hood would be a nice option, especially to keep out rain. Nice 305 or 350 auto and you'll have a fantastic toy. I'm green with envy !!
