I always had problems with voyager. They're supposed to be stranded years away from the nearest Starbase, but never act like it. Consider they have a cook to save energy that would otherwise be used in replicators, yet they leave most of the lights on throughout the ship. They only have a limited amount of torpedoes, yet never seem very concerned with using them sparingly. At no point in the show do we see any damage that isn't repaired good as new by the next episode, or reset somehow so it never happened. They don't use the Aero shuttle, yet build a whole new spaceship in the delta flyer. Being stranded was an interesting idea, but its like the writers completely forgot about the entire premise of the show.
@harvestercommander32502 жыл бұрын
@@inmjoh you do realize after being stranded, they would have to find alternatives to get by. For example, I bet during their travel back they found ways to replicate to torpedoes. Plus the reason they don’t act like they were stranded is because they were still Starfleet, still following the same directive, exploring an area of space never explored before.

this is craftsmanship level. i love how you designed the technology, as in batterry room and especially the sensors. those remind me of UFO: Terror from the Deep game, where the modern sonar-transceiver looked very similar. this gives me some goosebumps and allows to encompass all the ideas that were left out from the series. also the Aero bay could easily fit the Delta Flyer. So if not for bad writing or probably also CGI budget; I can imagine how this ship would have been used instead; I also like its design much better than the Delta Flyer. Would love to see it in action.

I find it funny that the Intrepid Class wasn't designed with families in mind like the Galaxy class but Voyager became the first with having children onboard starting with Naomi Wildman being the first child born onboard and it was later updated with 4 children who were assimilated by the Borg and of the 4 of them only Icheb remained aboard while the others were returned to their families and the reason Icheb stayed onboard because it was discovered his parents used him as a living biological weapon against the Borg and after he was returned to them they did it again only for Seven of Nine to discover what they did and Voyagers crew rescued Icheb before he could be captured and assimilated again.

Pretty interesting. The thing that always seemed odd for Voyager was just how much space was dedicated to the Captain. In contrast on the Enterprise D the captain had a quarters and a fairly small ready room.. Yet for a ship half the size, Voyager's captain had s ready room that looks nearly twice as large, and an equal if not larger Captain's quarters -- and at the start of the show the officer's mess hall is the Captain's private dining hall. Janeway begrudgingly lets Neelix convert it into a kitchen / mess for the crew. This always made Voyager seem like it was inspired by private yachts or small cruise ships where you see the crew living spaces made very small and compact so that the guests / owners could have a more luxurious experience. Being a "Lower Decks" crew member on Voyager would've been a rough assignment. Small spaces, no windows, rationed food and holodeck, and a 50 / 50 chance you were bunking with or taking orders from a person from the Maquis terrorists you were originally supposed to be capturing.
@Here_is_Waldo3 жыл бұрын
I suppose the Enterprise D was meant for families who would live aboard for years at a time, so they made sure the average crew had a bigger space. Voyager I think was meant more for scientific expeditions rather than long term travel, wasn't it? So I suppose the idea was that there might be more short-term crew, with the captain being one of the few who would live there full time.

But all in all from 1 to 10 I give it a full 10 if I could I would give it a hundred percent. My daughter and I who is 2 years old we both watched the beginning of the theme where the ship goes through the fire mode. And dance and dance away swaying back and forth like like a swaying dove back and forth and back and forth. Every time she hears the beginning of Voyager she runs to the TV grabbing her mother and I wants all of us to dance with her swing back and forth. So as you see she's a huge Star Trek fan and so am I and wants to become a future Star Trek Starfleet and Federation member of the Star Trek branch. I've been collecting a lot of eaglemoss ships and space stations I have about 50 items all together between good guy ships and bad guy ships space stations and all of that good stuff. I really enjoyed Voyager because that was the last of the TV series that managed to have commanding women that still maintained their femininity. Janeway was always 100% female even though she was the captain. It was the same with Seven of Nine. Although she did have some female/male hand-to-hand battles -- including a brief struggle with Tuvok (2.5 times the strength of a human) -- it was believable since we knew she still retained many of her Borg parts. Not like these later ridiculous movies and TV shows where the women behave like males and fight toe-to-toe with men twice their size and win, all without any bruises, or a hair out of place or even hard breathing. These are essentially super male roles with a female acting the part. Anyway, Intrepid class may not have matched the D in size, but it was certainly the sleekest of the ship of Federation design.

I'm old school. Man should be man and woman can be strong but not invincible. these new shows are unrealistic, and its the problem with our "woke" society and cancel culture that has been developing for several years, making them difficult to watch.
@Lukas-Trnka3 жыл бұрын
@@Halfscreen I don't think you have to call yourself "old school" for this. Your point of view is simply normal. Nothing obsolete. I actually think it's rather important to talk about this point of view as something normal, because considering how loud this propagation of wokeness is, many people feel pressured to be silent, instead of talking about it. This trend exceeded its original goal of promoting equality and fairness and is now heading on a wave of emotions into detrimental crazyness.

I hope to see more videos like this one on other Federation starships like the Constitution Refit Class or the Excelsior Class and it's refit or the Miranda Class or maybe even the Sovereign Class or the Defiant Class or maybe even on other ships seen in Star Trek like the Klingons or the Romulans or the Cardassians for example now that would be neat to see.

Yeah actually the second warp core was a back up in case the main warp core in Main engineering was severely damaged and they had to eject it before it could destroy the ship and I'm also not sure that the Intrepid class has a Captain's Yacht even though they do have an aeroshuttle in that same place a captain's yacht would be located like on other Federation starships like the Galaxy and Sovereign classes.
@ShalmendoGlineux3 жыл бұрын
For having a back up, the crew of Voyager panicked a lot when they lost the primary one... It's like the writers forgot the back up core.

Yeah that's true that the Enterprise only had one warp core but that might've been because it was before Voyager was even built or in fact her class was even designed and before that time the Galaxy Class was the fastest class ever built by Starfleet with a cruising speed of warp factor 6 and a maximum speed of warp 9.6 but it was mentioned the class can go even faster as it was mentioned by Data in the pilot episode 'Encounter at Farpoint' where they can match the speed Q was going at which was warp 9.8 but at extreme risk as it shows the Enterprise D can go faster than the Intrepid class but as mentioned at extreme risk as the Enterprise could go even faster than that at the speed of warp 10 but that was because of the Traveler which means when that happened the Enterprise was almost going at infinite velocity which is an incredible feat to say the least and with the T.O.S. Enterprise she went even faster at warp 14 but that was because of modifications made to the engines by hostile forces.

Thanks for watching Nicholas. It always seems to me that my audience usually has better information than the Star Trek fansite. The warp 10 barrier is a theoretical barrier for a starship with warp drive supposedly.
@junior11383 жыл бұрын
I suppose it could be argued that in the Q episode you mentioned, taken EntD to 9.8 was analogous to any contemporary vessel going to 120% on its engine?
@Lukas-Trnka3 жыл бұрын
Actually TOS warp 14 is slower than TNG warp 10. It is because they changed the warp scale to be more convenient for their use in 24th century. Acording to TNG warp scale, warp 10 is equal to infinite speed, while warp 10 TOS scale would be only 1000 times speed of light.

Pre-production model had immovable warp nacels mounted low on the hull almost as long as the saucer section- looked like the nacels from Refit 1701A. Much better- gave it a long lean race sled look. Never liked the mini warp pods on the production Voyager.
