You are half way, and doing well...don't say "if". Tons of options and plenty of time. Keep on hiking! 😎

You're doing awesome gbolt! Amazing that you're half way! Keep on truckin brother! How do you sleep when you use the shelters? Are you comfortable with your Neo-air? I've been considering exploring pads for "go to ground" options.

The Neo Air is the only way to go for me! Very dependable, lightweight , and comfortable. The only complaint is that it’s not wide enough. Big Agnes has one that allows your arms to stay on the pad next to the body. But weight is the issue. I am glad to have the pad when I need it, but always prefer the hammock and quilt over any other choice!

11:27 How many Bandanas would you recommend packing for an AT Thru-hike ?

Iblame Summers I would suggest two for sure and maybe three. I had an AT bandana hanging from the pack shoulder strap for wiping sweat and other things during the day. I had one inside the cook kit to keep the fuel canister quiet while hiking and to use at dinner time. I sometimes carried a 3rd backup one in the pack for other times. I also carried a quick dry pack towel for swim, River soaks, shower times or when hostel didn’t provide a towel. Probably overkill and added weight.

Did you say you were carrying both 20* and 50* TQ and UQ? Seems like your carrying a lot of stuff you said you haven’t used in a while....why not mail ahead? Keep on trucking...best of luck!

Richard Moran I do use the 20* and underquilt as padding around the pad in the shelter. Also use the quilt in hostels that may not have the greatest padded beds or mattress. I could mail but so far that hasn’t happened and Post Offices haven’t really been convenient except Glasgow which I did send cloths home.
