Many people say this music puts them to sleep. I can't understand because to me is the opposite. It makes me be completely awake, aware, alert, totally concentrated, and I can't even try to do something different than listening to the music. Ive listened to classical music literally since I was born because it was the one that my father loved (So do I). However, now I love what I feel is the best of all types of music, but always listen to classical music 😊🎵

When Beethoven passed away, he was buried in a churchyard. A couple days later, the town drunk was walking through the cemetery and heard some strange noise coming from the area where Beethoven was buried. Terrified, the drunk ran and got the priest to come and listen to it. The priest bent close to the grave and heard some faint, unrecognizable music coming from the grave. Frightened, the priest ran and got the town magistrate. When the magistrate arrived, he bent his ear to the grave, listened for a moment, and said, "Ah, yes, that's Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, being played backwards." He listened a while longer, and said, "There's the Eighth Symphony, and it's backwards, too. Most puzzling." So the magistrate kept listening; "There's the Seventh... the Sixth... the Fifth..." Suddenly the realization of what was happening dawned on the magistrate; he stood up and announced to the crowd that had gathered in the cemetery, "My fellow citizens, there's nothing to worry about. It's just Beethoven decomposing."

Music scholars and composers consider these music genres as the main ones: piano sonata, piano concerto, violin concerto, opera, mass, symphony, and string quartet. Most scholars would agree with this evaluation: Best piano sonata ever: Beethoven's Piano Sonata No 29 in Bb, Opus 106, Hammerklavier (1817-18) Best piano concerto ever: Beethoven's Piano Concerto No 5 in Eb, Opus 87, _Emperor_ (1809) Best violin concerto ever: Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D, Opus 61 (1806) Best opera ever: Mozart's _Don Giovanni._ But Beethoven's _Fidelio,_ Opus 72 (c1803-05; 1814), follows very closely. Best mass ever: Beethoven's Missa Solemnis in D, Opus 123 (1819-23) Best symphony ever: Beethoven's Symphony No 9 in d, Opus 125, _Choral_ (1822-24), or his Symphony No 5 in c, Opus 67 (1807-08) Best string quartet ever: String Quartet No 14 in c#, Opus 131 (1826). 💕☮🌎🌌

For years I played mainly Beethoven and sometimes other grest classical composers, whilst dropping my children to school 20-25 years ago. On the way back home I played them Pat Metheny, Chick Corea and stuff like Steely Dan. As children, in their own time they listened to stuff of their own generation. Whilst studying at uni they listened to Beethoven when mind expansion was needed. Nowadays, nearing the top of their chosen professions, they've all come full circle....listening to the timeless genius, Beethoven.
