How many of you guys are sitting there(like me) thinking, “I miss watching MTV with my friends on Saturday video after video.” The 80’s was all about the video. When they premiered a new video, we had to be there to see it. I LOVE this song!!!!!!! They are so awesome, like totally.

I remember leaving the TV on ... loud .. and when I would hear a video come on that I loved, I'd come flying from where ever I was. My mom was always suspiciously there before me when Steve Perry was singing. Seems I wasn't the only one loving MTV.

Yes, "heavy rotation" was a phrase used on many a H&O song! What I love about looking back on these is how players/singers/recording artists were suddenly needing to develop some acting chops, to a degree! Some, like Bowie, made the transition seamlessly, but others seemed pretty uncomfortable needing to act a bit for this new, camera-centric video vehicle!

YES!!! I was born in 1973, so I was also a big Star Wars fan, and loved to listen to the radio, and go to our local department stores, go to the electronics department, and look at all of the vinyl albums and 45 single records! I never wanted to shop for clothes or toys, I always went straight to the music department, and stayed there until my mom or dad gave me money for the latest vinyl album, or record, I wanted badly! I bought many a Duran Duran records in the 80s! I remember my very first 45 record I bought. It was "September" by Earth, Wind, and Fire. I wore that record out! And then, when I got my first stereo that had not only a turntable, but a cassette player in it, my dad took me to buy some packages of blank cassettes (like Memorex...we all used those!) and I would record my vinyl albums, and 45 records, onto the cassettes. That way, I could play/listen to them in my "jam box," and the cassette player in our cars! There was no downloading songs on your phone, or computer. The struggle was real! You had to make sure your vinyl albums and 45 records were clean, and didn't have any scratches, because there's nothing worse than listening to an album you recorded onto a cassette, and then in the middle of a song, it skips! 🤦 And then, if the tape got caught in the cassette player, you had to get your trusty pencil, and twist and turn it until all of the tape went back up into the cassette! To be honest, I really miss doing that! Generation X-ers have memories that can't compare to any other generation! We got to see a lot of technology invented in our lifetime!

Yes this was the 80's. A time when hall and oats were on the radio and Hull and oats were tearing it up on the ice for the St. louis blues.

This is 1 of my all-time favorite Hall & Oates songs. The beat is fantastic. Some people think of them as "pop artists" but to me they're dynamic soul artists.

Hall and Oats were one of those bands you didn't want to admit you liked or you seen in concert. But the ones who would say that know every word to every song they put out.🤘I like them and seen them in concert!

Reaction videos, a Covid 19 guilty pleasure. I enjoy yours, very thoughtful, intelligent. All art forms reflect the times that produce it, you are learning who your grandparents were at your age. Pretty trippy, eh? At least I assume so- I'm in my 60' s and mine are in their 20's now.
