Not the first refractor, first hall of famer to have a refractor rookie. Big distinction, unless you are suggesting there is a hall of fame rookie in a 1993 product that is a refractor? If so, who did I miss?

People like us have been waiting seemingly forever for this in baseball! Honestly, it should be big money for high grades on HoF RC parallels, true RC autos, and especially the Flagship RC parallels under /100 (like the black border, etc) - when we get to that point. 2004 Topps I believe for that? Which would mean Yadier would likely be first I imagine. We've had Tomlinson and Edgerrin RCs with all of the bells and whistles in football (Henrik Lundqvist in NHL) but it didn't translate to high prices - yet. We will see with Peppers and Freeney. Ed Reed and Joe Thomas have increased though. I love the analysis, I've been hoping somebody would highlight this stuff for the future HoF classes. Simple fact is, people just don't know this stuff unless they collected back then for the most part. Buy those old Beckett Almanacs cheap, folks! Vital information in those. Great stuff man!

Tyler, this is awesome episode! I am deeeeep into rare Griffey refractors and inserts. Hardcore collectors dont chase his 89 RCs but instead these crazy/sick RARE refractor designs (and dufex)! I also collect a little Chipper Jones and he is almost smack in the middle of the 90s.

Thanks Duane, yup I am with you! I've been buying a lot of Griffey stuff too where I can. I'm kinda excited as we start getting some of these newer hall of fame guys inducted where their rookies are starting to hit the beginning of the Bowman Chrome and Topps Chrome eras. That means we are exiting the mass produced era and some of these hall of famers might actually have rare cards to go after for the first time.

No doubt! I’m a huge dufex guy. I believe I have every true dufex card (there are some sneaky ones). 90s has rarity but also beauty. I think this decade of cards is going to be huge in the next few years

Fun video. The first bowman chrome rookie auto card is the 2001 Bowman Chrome Pujols not the 2002 Mauer. And Pujols also has a 2001 Topps Gold Serial # (along with Ichiro).

Ah, I see you mentioned that at the end. Ichiro also has game used jerseys from 2001. And 1999 Bowman Chrome Sabathia will be up soon too.

Adrian Beltre 1998 Bowman and 1998 Bowmans Best Atomic are his Rookie Year autoed. 97 is a pre-rookie MLB card.

I think they are going to embrace it nicely! At least I hope as the cards are getting cooler. Think things will get weird however starting in 2006 with the RC logo. Verlander is cut and dry, but will Kershaws main card be his 06 BCD auto or 08 with a RC logo.
