I don't own any Benchmade knives but I absolutely love my Ontario Rat II; so much that when mine was confiscated at the airport Christmas morning, the first thing I did was order a new one. It retains a sharp edge even after a year of use & abuse. Opens & closes very smoothly. Perfect size and doesn't way much so you don't notice it in your pocket, which is why I forgot to put it in my check in luggage.

I’ve carried a Spyderco Wegner with 3 3/44 in ATS-34 50/50 blade, since the late 1990’s. It sharpens well and the fit, function and feel are great.

My best edc has been the Benchmade Griptilian 550HG with plain sheepsfoot blade. I keep it (and all my other knives) shaving sharp using my Worksharp by Ken Onion. It takes a very light tough to get an excellent blade dressing followed by some stropping using a hard-surface backed strip of leather belt dressed with black honing compound. My final step is to strop a few times on a piece of fire hose to get the burr off, leaving a "shaving sharp" blade every time! Both the knife and the sharpener were gifts from my sons which makes it even sweeter! This knife was my first introduction to a 154CM steel and I experience great satisfaction when knife sharpening now days. Old dog/new steels!

My EDC is Benchmade Grizzly Ridge. Love this knife! Highly recommend for daily carry. Easy to grip, great quality steel, and Benchmade quality. Plane edge. Not a big serrations edge blade carry. Love a super sharp straight edge.

Ill go with the Ontario RAT-1 in AUS-8 @ about $20 with the RAT-2 @ about $30 being a smaller alternative. Excellent knives all around and the $50 D2 bladed version elevates the RATs to a new level. Any of the Ganzo knives in 440C is also a good choice Before Cold Steel upgraded to CTS XHP and later CPM S35VN, many of their knives ran under $50 with the AUS-8A blade steel. The recon-1, rajah 3, talwar and many others was a great budget option. Still are but prices run over $70 now. Worth every penny but i do miss the less expensive options. The Real Steel HS-S1 in 14C-28N is a great buy at $50 or so as well as many other models they offer. The Kershaw cryo 2 in 8CR13MOV is a great little assisted opener at about $40. Kershaw has many models in this price range such as the Emerson 60347 and even several USA made models that are great knives. The aforementioned Cold Steels in this price range of $60 to $100 are all excellent. The Benchmade griptillian standard model is a great buy at about $90 At the $70 to $80 price range my all time favorite has to be the USA made Spyderco manix-2 in CPM S30V. Both lightweight and standard models can be found for $70 to $100. Its tough as nails, has great steel and a great lock and its ergos fit my hand like a glove. Thats my list anyway but at least one of the two standouts are with me daily. Its hard to leave the house without my manix-2 and RAT-1 D2 ,even when i have new knives to try.

I carry a buck 110 auto and a Leatherman 300 every day. The 110 has a beefy blade and 100% replacement on broken parts so it's great for heavy use, plus the snap when you open that knife is like an alligator snapping it's jaws. I just love that.

I have a lot of knives.. all brands... big ..small.. custom... etc.. I do agree with your pic... however... the knife that I find in my pocket most times is the Spyderco full size military... its super lite.. easy open and close one hand.. I wear shorts most of the time... I was a late in life Spyderco fan.. I also love the little salt knives... have one on me at all times for EDC packages etc.. its like carrying loose change and no one gets "triggered" when you pull it out for task in public situation. cheers buddy

If your knife is as sharp as it should be, you won’t need serrations. On my person everyday- kershaw blur, spyderco manix 2XL, and victorinox Spartan. 👍🏻

I can say this is a great video because I have 80% of your recommendations. For an EDC edge profile, the answer is plain. I much prefer the full size Cutjack and RAT. (I have both sizes in both.) My Manix 2 is S90V, so it doesn't qualify as an under $100 knife. I carry a fully serrated Spyderco in H1 on occasion.

*Great video, All the Knives Mentioned in this video are Great in their Price range, But For Someone who want to Go Below this budget i will add some more to the list* ## *10-20$ i think in this price range Ganzo is unbeatable i will suggest to look for some models like Fb7611, Fb7651 etc.. All of them have 440c blade steel. In this price range my favorite is Fb7611.* ## *In 20-25$ Price Range There are a good selection of value for money Ganzo's Like the Fh21, Fh41 & Fh51.i have all 3 of them and my favorite is Fh21. All of them is D2 steel flippers on bearings* ## *in 25-30$ i would suggest the twosun Ts16 (d2/G10 model), TS27. TS16 is my favorite in this range* ## *If you are looking for smaller blades look into Ganzo Fh51, Fh61 (i personally didn't like the Fh61), F753m1, F759. On Twosun side i only have one That is Ts47. Here my favorite is Ganzo fh51 (23$).* ## *If you are looking for a work knife i would suggest The Ganzo Fb7511, Fh21, Twosun Ts16. Here my favorite design is Ganzo Fb7511 (15-18$) but it comes with a 440c blade so i would prefer to go with Twosun 16.* ## *If you want to go below 10$ i would Suggest Ganzo Fb759 (normally sells for 8-9$ on Gearbest/aliexpress ) / sometimes the Fb753m1 also comes under that 10$ mark (the G10 version). There is also some Good Sanrenmu Models under 10$ (sorry i don't remember the exact model numbers).*

Like most on here, own tons 'o knives and EDC a lot of them but ALWAYS comback to my Benchmade/Heckler & Koch Patrol auto. HK got together with BM and made this beautiful, barely notice it's there D2 steel bad boy, Rockwell-60 to 62 HRC. I prefer plain blade. If I was honest, it's probably the auto factor that makes this thing so appealing for me. It just deploys sooo fast, it's out and safety lock in place before I even get to whatever I'm cutting. So Benchmade now makes the Casbah, which is EXACTLY the same except it's CPMS30V steel Rockwell 58-60 HRC. And it's 160ish compared to HK Patrol, got for 99.

Believe it or not the Gerber Evo Jr. is an amazing everyday pocket knife! At first when I received this knife and began becoming accustomed to it I could not get the knife to copletely open. Afterwards with practice this task was easy. Now for the blade, what an amazing blade which began getting me compliments on how sharp and well maintained the blade is. Yes nothing about this knife in it's entirety is expensive but this knife is legal to carry, can cut like a razor when properly sharpened and is comfortable because of it's light weight. Now a self defense knife is a different subject which I might consider the larger Evos. For now anyone looking for an extremely inexpensive bad ass knife go with Evo's.

A good list and easy to endorse, probably because I have most of 'em! I don't know if others have had my experience with the kershaw Leek (spring assist). I own quite a few knives, but I keep coming back to the Hinderer XM-24. Something about the 4 inch spanto blade just captivates me. But if you can't spend $600 on an XM-24, try the Kershaw Cryo 2. They're like $35 with a steel framelock. It's only 3.25 inches, but it's a nice little knife.

The Ka-Bar Dozier in either the thumb stud or oval blade hole deserves to be on EVERYONE'S "Best Of" lists. Hands down one of the best sub $25 pocket carries out there. Rivals the old Spyderco Delica 3 before the introduction of the Delica with full liners which a knife of this size and design of use really doesn't need. Try one and you'll never get rid of it.

I use an Enlan el-02 for work and as a general contractor, I use it very hard. The pirated Axis lock is the best locking mechanism of any I have ever used and for under $20.00 at the time I bought it, the Enlan couldn't be more perfect for my purposes. I have a Brous auto which cost a whole lot more but I would never use it for work, or much of anything else for that matter because it would be so expensive to replace. I find serrated blades useless and do not own any of that type by any maker. I have no idea why anyone would want one.

Been looking into American made replacements for my bestech swordfish in d2. Not sure I trust the heat treating, but this knife has performed very well for me. No rust and I really don’t try to prevent it so I just can’t see the benefits of s30v. D2 beats it on paper in every category except for corrosion resistance. Just not worth the downgrade unless the heat treat makes a huge difference. I just don’t need the corrosion resistance.

Benchmade Bugout Serrated, Benchmade Serrated Griptilian, the Benchmade Serrated Freak, the Benchmade Bailout Serrated. Second List! Steel Will Modus, Kershaw Leek, the Kershaw Eris as mentioned light weight and medium size, the Kershaw Emerson wave is a great knife also if only made serrated! Last on my List are the Spyderco Smock in titanium, the Spyderco Yojimbo 2 is the greatest cutter of them all and an excellent self defense knife. Basically any Spyderco that is serrated will do any task and won't weigh down your pockets. Zero tolerance Hinderer model. Only complaint is the weight.

I’d say the plain edge vs serrated edge debate depends on your level of experience. If you have little to no experience then I’d say plain edge, serrated edges do provide more versatility but they can be a little more difficult to sharpen for someone who doesn’t have as much experience

I love the Kershaw Leek, however I hate the safety; it is awkward. I have an older Kershaw knife that is much smaller and it opened in my pocket a few times when I forgot the safety. The Leek scares me to have in my pocket. The Leek is the most I have ever paid for a knife until I ordered the Spyderco Para 3. When it comes I will probably like it too. I think I will spend more on my knives from now on, quality is worth it.

One knife I’d add for consideration is the cold steel swift or swift two in CTS-XHP, it’s a bigger knife but it really brings it when you want a ruggedised package. It is assisted opening, the steel is a pleasure to sharpen and gets a hair whittling edge.

My top recommendations for people just getting into knives depends on how much they want to spend. For budget range, I recommend the Ka-Bar Dozier or the Rat Model II. Similar to your list, if they are willing to spend more, I tell them to go for a Manix 2 Lightweight.

I'd add the ruike p801 and remove the Manix 2 LW. I really wanted to love the Manix but despite it's lightweight it is too obtrusive in the pocket due to its width to be a good edc knife and it's the only knife of any budget I've ever chipped the blade on doing normal edc stuff.

I have over three hundred knives, the most useful is my Schrade stockman. When I was a medic in the navy I carried a swiss army knife and used the hell out of it for preventive maintenance and mundane tasks. I carried it even in foreign ports and no one cared when I pulled it out in public to use.

I'd include the Böker Plus Worldwide, Aus8 steel, nice G10 grip, and you can take it into most countries.

Well, for me, personally, I like many of the Tac force knives, for my uses. For less than $15.00, they are very hard to beat. It's all a matter of preference I think for each person, and their pocketbook, sure, there are many beautiful , well made knives out there that I would love to own ! But, I ask myself, am I buying a knife for its beauty, or am I buying it to do the jobs that I need it to do,,,,, TY Sir,,, I will say, all the knives you displayed are well made and most of all, affordable for many ! Excellent job ! 😁✌🇺🇸💪

I just got the SOG terminus. It’s a pretty good knife. Haven’t had it long enough to form a good opinion about it yet.

I love the Steel Will Cutjack. I hope to purchase one of the better steel versions but it is fantastic as is. I have a lot of knives but this one comes out on top for use, feel, and convenience. The George design 3460 is amazing too. It’s in the $20 range that cute like a little demon. It’s a bit heavy but worth it. Great video, thanks!
