Hallberg-Rassy 43 docking at Südhafen Helgoland

We sailed from Cuxhaven to Helgoland. Docking at the Südhafen. In the Südhafen, it is not uncommon for there to be lots of boats docking side by side.
We were here in the late season, so it was relatively quiet.

Rather than rafting up why don't they Mediterranean moor ... looks like there's room?

I don’t know for sure. Maybe because it is a former naval base and they left it like that.
