As soon as she started she came in with the elegance nala had in lion king, when covering Broadway you are not just singing but bringing to life a character an she did. Her tone is beautiful here; her innocence steeps through the screen. I love that she didn’t do ANY little mermaid songs, but they had her do this it’s SMART! I believe as she gets older she’ll have much more control of her transitions; I think that “are” when she held it could have been more solid but that’s me being a theater major ! She still has to put HALLE BAILEY in it and she did. Great job

Halle's voice is higher than her sister's. Halle's an obvious Soprano. I think her sister is a lighter Mezzo. She can get low in her chest like Beyonce -- and even sounds like her, sometimes.

It was okay for me.. Very sweet voice that part of her voice sounded beautiful, but when she started to put more power and reach higher for me her tone changed and she lost me... Beyonce has more power so ion those climax notes she would make it more impactful.. But all and all a nice performance

Interesting, I can understand your perspective but Beyoncé has a much more mature and seasoned voice, for me personally it was too much for the role of Nala.. her casting was my least favourite part of the movie to be honest. I feel like it was too much power and not enough sweetness and sentiment. I think Halle’s sweet youthful sounding voice is perfect for this song and Disney in general. Not too many runs and riffs, just classic, elegant and in my opinion it elicited more of that emotional/magical/nostalgic feeling. But of course to each his/her own

Beyoncé already did it and you can watch the remake if you want. But when you watch it know you’ll probably realise that Halle’s was in my opinion better. She has that Disney princess voice for any Disney character and didn’t need to give a screaming performance to prove that

@@chazj2425 well it wasent necesarily that i thought that beyonces version was immaculate, i just mis the climatic power of the song in this version or maybe it was the choir i dont know but normally when they reach that part pf the song i get goosebumps and all and now didnt feel anything.. i just gave beyonce as an example cause i liked that climactic part in her version.. bit yeah didnt like beyonce as nala either it sounded like beyonce doing nala thats the thing when a singer is so damned popular you recognise it anywhere
