... but you’re already flexible!!! I could tell when you were doing the up & down dog poses. Your spine is way more flexible than average, your upperback region also is very flexible. My back doesn’t bend nowhere near as much. If you invested more into becoming flexible you’d probably be able to do it easy. 😊

Sit on the floor more instead of always being on the couch. You are more likely to stretch naturally when in the floor...or you think "I might as well stretch since I'm down here. "

I am so out of shape right now after watching the first 30 seconds and then pausing it to see what I could currently do, I have learned some things. 1st thing: Hallease is in much better shape than me, 2nd: Trying to attempt this at 2am after snacking on crisps, cheese & biscuits probably wasn't an ideal time to try this, who knew?! * Should add that like Hallease I have also never been particularly flexible but I am in my early 40's, WTF was I thinking would be the outcome!

😅😅😅😅😅😅 Please don't let me be the reason you injure yourself! Stretch responsibily
@insulaarachnid4 жыл бұрын
@@hallease Don't worry the only injury acquired was to my ego/distorted sense of physical fitness. I think my first step is to start walking regularly again a couple of times a week for like 30 - 45 minutes per walk, just to get everything flowing again.

5:51 Yeah... 30 days seems a bit aggressive for the less flexible people. I've always been naturally flexible, but with that, it still might be too much to quick. There;s not suppose to be a huge amount of pain when you stretch. You're suppose to feel the stretch and hold it at that point.
@lovebug63884 жыл бұрын
Warm up: 10-15 minute brisk walk or jog. This loosens up your hamstrings and quadriceps. Stretches: pigeon stretch, squat hold with using arms to push legs outward, hurdle stretch (leg behind and in front), seated toe touch, butterfly hold and splits. Hold each stretch 20-30 seconds. Halfway through inhale and then exhale deeper into the stretch. Slowly come out of each one and transition into the next. Make flexibility more about functionality and mobility and it will seem less of a chore. Another tip, after a hot shower or bath is another good time to stretch due to the muscles being warmed up. And this reduces stress levels and improves sleep. Also, if you have a partner, he can help you stretch but only if he knows what he is doing.

I have recently really gotten into stretching, I’m 28 so I’m not a flexible as i was when i was younger. It started off that i just wanted to do the splits but now it’s turned kinda meditative to me. I finding joy to see how far i can’t push my body. I’m a month in and i love it, plenty sore days but as I’m seeing the progress it’s all worth it. Keep at it

Funnily enough (probably due to rona) I'm also working on flexibility. Im 31, 5ft11 and grew quickly, my ligaments are tight! I would like to be able to do the splits but just focusing on keeping back long and straight as well as the hips. Side note: watched you videos for years now, always enjoy the music you put in. Stay safe xx

i know it might sound a little crazy, but a major help to my flexibility journey has been learning how to incorporate diaphragmatic breathing practices into my stretches and yoga (big words for: breathing from your diaphragm haha). we have so much built up air in our bodies and rarely utilize our full capacity of breathing - especially when working out, we often take even shorter breaths - most of us breath from only our lungs (yes yes, lungs are for breathing haha but we can also breath from our diaphragm & stomach if we practice new habits haha nobody come for me haha) it really helps you rest into those toughs stretches a little bit more. love your videos hallease, thank you for sharing your chaotic good life with us 💞

I could always do the right split but not the left. I always said my right leg was stronger. I did cheer. But I wasn’t the most flexible, just use to stretching. Now I’m 30. Not near as flexible as I was. I had back pain these last few years and a chiropractor told me I had spinal trauma from cheer. After a month of back pops I’m actually more flexible than I was in high school. Who knew i was putting up withy back pain all these years. Now I stretch faithfully every morning.... your right it does center you! 🧘🏾♀️

I follow a deep stretch classes twice a week. I do pole dancing, dancing and pilates next to that. With pole dancing we train kinda heavy so if I don't stretch extra, I will lose my flexibility. For some moves it is necessary to be able to bend your back, legs or arms in a certain way. I'm also 30 and only have been doing this for about 1 year actively (pilates 2-3 years). You make lovely videos btw.

HALLEASE!! I wish I saw this video sooner! I danced my entire life, but was never able to do the splits. And when I went to college for dance, I was still in pursuit. During the blackout of I think was in 2003, I finally got my right front split. And I was maybe 20. Then I was 28/29 when I took a silks class at a pole studio. And I took my first official flexibility class. That was a wrap: before you know it I was seeing contortion coaches and taking workshops. With that said, I know how tedious the process of becoming flexible as an adult can be. I would love to connect, and help with zee flexy! ✨🙆🏽♀️

Also, the type of slit you're trying to do has a lot to do with bone structure. You have to be careful with stress on your lower back. Make sure you are contracting your glute of the back leg.

Im intrigued! I have been exercising lately, about every other day, walking or running. My hips are consistently sore and I wonder if this stretch challenge will help. In regards to muscle recovery I make sure that I have a whey protein shake or L-glutamine to help my body. You should look into vitamins and supplements for muscle recovery.

The biggest issue I had was over extending - which caused more soreness but if you're goal is just to stretch in general then it should help.
