The opening 20 seconds of this song is one of the best short examples of reharmonization I've ever heard. You're expecting the usual sad chords underneath the "hallelujah" melody, but instead it sounds more mysterious and majestic. And then there's some descending stuff, a beautiful 7 chord at 0:29, and it effortlessly falls back into the original chords. Masterfully done

I have always loved this song and Mike you Ed ward knocked out of the park. It's the only version I want to listen to now. It use to be Leonard Cohen's version but this is my favorite now. After watching the 2 of you doing this song gave me and Idea of how I could do both parts on a single guitar. It might end up being reminiscent of having a Tommy Emmanuel flavor to it. Thanks Mike for the influence you have on my playing.
