This is really nice mate. Super Hedges vibes which I haven't gotten from you before so strongly. But very much in your musical world, it seems a bit metal even. Love the major/minor transitions, they make a big deep pool to dive into and find meanings and pictures. Really just so good. Thanks. And now you've mastered the use of a pick, you're probably ready take on Wonderwall.
@mikedawesofficial6 жыл бұрын
Love ya mate. Thanks. Yeah it all came from that vibe. The sound of a strummed guitar with a great reverb has always been so powerful. That Hedges sound always resonated more with me than the arguably more popular stuff (in the guitar world anyway) Also John Petrucci gave me that pick in Budapest so it has special powers. Beard powers. Equal to or greater than Wonderwall powers.

I just love all those new original songs from Mike’s second album, I can hear Michael Hedges and Erik Mongrain influences in here, but it still sounds very unique. Mike is not only a great guitarist, but first of all he is an outstanding composer and it’s a privilege to follow his progress and enjoy the music. I would love to hear this song played live!

Alright now. I've listened to this song enough now to have made up my mind. Not about loving it; I do, very much. But here's my humble request: Please make an album of lullabies for adults. lol This bpm & and this type of melody are perfect for chilling at the end of the day. This song in particular makes me feel peaceful, a bit sleepy, and softly blissful. New album from Mike Dawes: Go to Sleep, You Bastards! \m/ :D

The song is absolutely fabulous, Mike and so peaceful. I'll never be 1/1000th as good a guitarist as you are but you inspired me today. I have a number of guitars but my Tanglewood acoustic guitar has sat unplayed (on its wall hook) for ages. Took it down, cleaned it and sorted out the neck/truss rod + lowered the bridge. Ordered new strings + finger slides and I'm going to teach myself slide guitar 🥰 You did that, Mike, by being an inspiration to so many (and to me). BTW the room with all the guitars on the wall is stunningly beautiful!
