I enjoyed Trading Up Christmas. I had to laugh at that joke too. I really agree with you guys, the sister was likeable and brought a certain something to the movie, in some ways like the audience, how will this work? Yea, and that guy definitely has had a lot of short term relationships. Italia Ricci was good in it though. She's building herself as a good leading lady.

I enjoyed watching and listening to this podcast more than the movies you discussed. This was such a delight, you two were so funny and had me laughing. 😀

Sometimes I have a little trouble with the beginnings of movies where it takes me out right away. One of those is Happy Howlidays. I agree that he should not have been so tough on her for wanting to give him a dog that wasn’t even hers. But, right away I didn’t like her when she goes in and just thinks that she can jump in front of the person that he is actively helping. Like he should stop helping this person trying to adopt and help her right now. That turns me off right at the beginning of the movie. The other one that turned me off at the beginning of the movie was, I can’t remember the name something novel, where the widower owns a bookstore and the nationally known author was coming to do a book signing. His daughter reminded him and he had no memory that a famous author was coming to his store that day or the next day to autograph books and meet the public And not only that I had no idea what her name was. That took me right out of the movie at the beginning. Ended up liking the movie, but I thought that is just so far beyond reality.

It was hard not to have... expectations coming into Happy Howlidays. Ezra was fine (it seemed like the last scene was filmed first) but Max and Mia were pretty unlikable for a lot of it. Trading Up Christmas was a fun premise and the story overall was OK but the lack of chemistry really let it down.
