This would be fun to do, and it can be used year after year, as long as it is taken care of. Someone with the skills could have it motorized with the right gearing to have it go down on its own, and for a minute instead of 10 seconds. I thought it could be placed outside but who would be paying attention to it.

This is not as easy as you make it look in the video! The staples aren’t working and then they pop out when you staple the next cup. I’ve tried hot glue, not working! My husband is headed to try and find a quicker setting glue. I couldn’t find the 5 oz cups so bought the 9 oz cups from Sam’s club. This project is going to be the death of me! But I will figure it out, and I will complete my project!

But all that work for something you will literally use for only 10 seconds....

its reuseable, all you gotta do is switch out the numbers every year.

Exactly, and they didn't tell you, everything.

It's showy but stupid lol....You have to make sure that when you are making this thing, that the cups will be open enough to go over the pole, to let it through. I have made these balls for years and this idea is lame if, you have to do the string thing. I would prefer just using the balls for decorating outside with clear lights after Christmas.

This literally does not work. The stapling technique is garbage

did you try to do? I want to do it at home but I'm afraid of wasting resources on it.

So you tried it? I can’t wait to try it.

I tried it 3 different ways with 3 different types of cups and it was not good. I had to at the last minute get a styrofoam ball and spray paint it with glitter paint so I had something for my party.

Making the balls requires a souldering iron, not sure I spelled that correctly, but I use one to make my balls. This whole vid is just to sell off an idea that looks like a bother to do. I would just make the balls and hang them outside for decor. These balls have been around for years and the idea is just too blah for my taste, no one will care about watching your ball when they can watch the more exciting one off of tv or whatever. lol

Omg this stapling 😒 I'm dang near $60 in the hole and one week away from NYE and this is a pure disaster. I really wanted it to work
