In fact, I find that it’s much more scarier and terrifying that someone with superhuman abilities in your bloodline, whether it be a sibling or an uncle, is hellbent on coming after you, no matter what. I also find that the whole sibling aspect is one of the elements that make the Halloween franchise stand out from the others. I can completely understand why they retconned it, though. The 2018 is so much better. People like this one cause nostalgia but 2018 ignores this one and starts 40 years after the original. It's AMAZING!!

Very sweet of the hospital staff to give Laurie a new hairstyle. Most horrifying scene in this movie is the child with a razor blade in his mouth. I did like how Laurie was like “ef it, I give up” when Michael walks through that fire at the end. I liked the original more than you guys, and this is a guilty pleasure.

Shaun got it right, just a series of different killings with no continuing story. Also, in the early 1980s was a trend where there was a big twist to the original story (Michael & Laurie are siblings). 1980's The Empire Strikes Back and 1983's Psycho II also had big reveals in them. 2018 Halloween was better than the 1981 sequel, but the 1978 original was the best of all.

One of the main complaints about Halloween 2 was too much of an assumption that the audience would have seen the 1st Halloween movie and wouldn't need to be dragged into the storyline. They didn't try hard enough to grab the audience's attention in the 2nd movie. I like to watch them back to back. I think it helps compensate for that flaw and keeps the anxiety going.
@DCFCfanatic3 жыл бұрын
In the original ending, which I believe was shown as part of a televised version, it revealed that Jimmy (last seen in the car on the horn) is alive and well. He's also in the back of the same ambulance that Laurie is put in. There's also a televised version of the original that includes more info on Michael Myers and addition scenes.

Also fun fact, the director of this movie, Rick Rosenthal, actually had directed the film to follow the same type of suspenseful, low-gore approach that Carpenter took with the first one, but it was actually Carpenter who went in and did reshoots of certain scenes, like the death scenes to add gore, because he wanted it to be more alike the other slashers coming out at the time.

I’ve always noticed that Michael walks backwards off of the balcony rail. Doesn’t make sense. It happens in 1 too
@goldend-pad52573 жыл бұрын
They messed up in continuity also in that they filmed him falling off a totally different balcony at the front of the house in this sequal and yet in the first film its clearly a different type of balcony situated at the back of the house.

Halloween 2018 is just a much better sequel.

Yes guys! Keep the other horror sequel reviews coming :) Really interesting and cool points addressed. Definitely check out III as it is just totally a different story and what I thought would have been a much better approach with the franchise as an anthology. Regarding the 2018 Halloween film, in my eyes I thought it was the best of the sequels as they actually tried something different and more interesting with the Michael Myers storyline, something to note though is that it follows as a direct sequel to the original and forgets about all the prior entries.
