I would never watch this film, or the Terrifier films, they frighten the hell out of me. I've only watched reactions and clips. Certainly nothing fun or enjoyable to me about this.

I loved this movie but I share the same sentiment as Tom. The ending felt generic compared to the earlier parts and I just thought it was kinda silly the woman is a monster because 'incest', she literally smashes through walls and can take a car hit. That being said, I did think Frank (the old guy) was one of the most vile horror villains I've seen in ages and the fact we see so little of him adds to it.

The story goes that James Cameron's pitch for this was just writing "Alien" on a whiteboard, adding an S, and then just turning that into a dollar sign.

This is loosely based on a true story. Google the Tommy Doll. It was a creepy looking allegedly possessed doll currently locked behind glass in a museum in Florida.

Not the immortal monster part, but this movie is loosely based on a true story. A lot of American horror movies are including Child's Play, based on the allegedly possessed Tommy doll that's now locked behind glass in a museum in Florida, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre Massacre, based on Indiana serial killer and necrophiliac Ed Gein.

The actor that played Evil Ed starred in another low budget horror movie that has a small cult following y'all might want to check out called 976-EVIL. It's about some early dial-up internet computer game that he keeps playing and gets possessed by it.

Charlie should have just found a new girlfriend because it's doubtful he ever got laid lol. The actress who plays Amy is a lesbian!

Don't know if y'all ever watched any episodes of the 80's-90's American comedy sitcom about Al Bundy and his family called Married With Children, but the actress that plays Amy in this movie was the next door neighbor Marcy Darcy in it.

You have no argument for non-episodic style in the modern environment. The vast majority of these shows have barely enough content to fill a measley 10 episodes. Episodic shows are character studies meant to be witnessed across seasons & series. Look at Westley from Buffy / Angel and his growth over 2 full shows, all small moments compounding on one another. I guess its not flash flash pew pew exposition dump enough for a pair of tik tok brained zoomers

Sorry guys this was extremely tik tok brained of you. River demonstrating no powers? Literally read his mind and history, copied his accent, knew his colony after Badger saying like 6 words You guys need to stop the cringe quips and instead listen to the dialogue. These shows were made when writers were actually talented. Exposition in today's shows are done by hacks who can't place world building either in dialogue or inferred through setting & actions.

I like the review but theres a ton of cap with regards to "modern" shows. We have sacrificed characters, plots and coherence for a cute coat of paint. I see a lot of younger reactors say this a lot. The CG in firefly was beyond cutting edge at the time (except for the fire in e08, but fire is notoriously hard to make look good) and even outshines a lot of ugly volume etc today. Put Firefly's supposed "one note" characters up against literally any sci fi from the last 10 years and they run circles around them. Sci fi has been dead for a very long time, unfortunately

FYI. In a deleted scene, Ripley would encounter Burke in the Alien nest, when searching for Newt. Burke would already have an Alien inside him, so Ripley would hand him a grenade before abandoning him. This however would be the explosion that would force Ripley to detour in to the Queen's lair. It was cut because not enough time had passed for Burke to be impregnated and conscious. Also, the bit where Ripley and Hicks tell each other their first names wasn't in the theatrical version. And two other things. The Power Loader was rally an eight foot body builder in a suit. with a rod to help him stay on his feet. Mechs do sort of exist, but they can't really walk. Just drag their feet that are mounted on wheels. You can actually find vids of them on KZbin.

10:55 that’s so funny, and incredibly ironic. At this point in time when the movie came out he was a hardcore comedian, so this casting was perfect. On the contrary, people would’ve never been able to see him take on more serious roles. It’s one of the reasons the choice to have him as Batman was so heavily criticized and hated. Such an interesting shift in perspective from then to now and people that grew up with this version of Keaton.

Wow can't believe you had never seen this classic, but definitely better late than never. This is one of Keatons best roles ever. I haven't watched this episode yet only saw the short so far, so idk if this was mentioned in any section but this movie has one of the best improv lines in any movies. When he kicks the tree that falls over and says "nice f*ckin model" that tree wasn't supposed to fall so without breaking character he yelled that to the set designer and Burton loved it so it stayed in the movie.

There's a deleted scene that didn't even make it into the special edition when Riplay goes back for Newt, she finds Burke first. He's cocooned up with a dead facehugger beside him. He begs her to kill him and she just looks at him for a second and moves on.

This was one of my favorite childhood movies, being an early '80s kid, so I was about 8 when they started showing this on HBO regularly, and I fell in love with the dark comedy (it was this and CLUE for me). Still love it, and saw the sequel in theaters when it came out. There's almost too many storylines in the sequel, but I LOVED the tone and mix of comedy and horror. It is definitely a worthy sequel.

This is one of my favourite films of all time. I saw it when it first came out, I was 11. Moments before it started my mom leaned over and said, “you know this is based on a true story, don’t you”? I did not. I credit this movie with giving me my first true feelings of empathy and understanding of the impact of kindness and cruelty. I have tried to live my life with those early lessons. I showed this to my 23 year old son today and I think his opinion of the film mirrored yours. And the scene when Hopkins first sees him and that one tear falls from his eye…Im basically done from there on out. It’s a powerful film. Great reaction video. So glad you guys loved it.

And you are right to feel creeped out by him because he's actually a registered sex offender and one of Hollywood's most notorious nonces. He isn't even in the sequel, all entirely because of that fact.
