Maeve fly is my fav!! I recently got a new car...black challenger with an orange stripe and i named her maeve...bc of her colors and maeve loves halloween and bc theyre both bad asses! I wanted my license plate to be MAEVE but it was taken :(

Benny Rose the cannibal king was surprisingly great. I like the social commentary and it was such a fast read. I was a little worried bc it’s in the same series as Cirque Berserk which I hated.

That’s good to hear! I noticed there was a collection of different books by different authors. They don’t go together do they?It seemed like they were stand-alones. I was looking at Hailey Piper’s books last night. Cranberry Cove also looked interesting.

@@victoriasampley the theme of the series is rewind or die, so it’s meant to be like old vhs 80s and 90s horror, so it is a big variety. They are not connected in any meaningful way and all by different authors.

@@victoriasampley another similar series is the killer vhs series, same concept. Candy Cain Kills was super fun. I’m reading two of the books in the series this month and hope they will be just as good.

@@victoriasampleythat’s the UK edition (I live in Scotland) so the cutesy dark Disney esque edition is what you can buy here in Waterstones for example no eyeball ones here. I have to say for a change I prefer the UK one

I love Ray Bradbury and as a kid two of my favourite books were Halloween Tree and and Something Wicked This Way Comes. Something Wicked is more about October than Halloween specifically but i adore the vibes.

I suggest William by Mason Coile. The whole book takes place ON HALLOWEEN day/night. 😄 I recently read it and thought it was a fun read. It is ~200 pages and easy to read in one sitting (which is rare for me). It was a 3.5/5 for me, but I can see how other people could love it even more. I’m OBSESSED with the cover.

Have you read the Haunting of Aveline Jones? It's a spooky middle grade and it actually felt spooky! I'm not sure if it's near Halloween, but it's definitely in the fall, in a seaside town in the UK.

I loved Maeve Fly! The definition of an unhinged baddie and we love to see it 💅🏻 I’m sure it’s on every other Halloween book list but I really liked Dark Harvest by Norman Partridge (haven’t seen the movie adaptation yet). Pumpkinheads is sooooo cute I can’t 🥰
