Another book which reminds me of Witch is In the House in the Dark of the Woods by Laird Hunt. Very creepy quirky witchy folk horror vibes, although I feel like its not exactly supposed to be horror. Short read I loved it. :] Hollow by Brian Catling is another gripping weird short read with horror undertones I loved 😁

Oo! I've got a great zombie novel series to recommend similar to those movies! 'The Girl with All the Gifts' by M. R. Carey and the follow-up 'The Boy on the Bridge.' I don't want to spoil too much, but the reason these books stand out to me is that they're based around the premise that some zombies in this particular post-apocalypse start showing signs of human intelligence, and the books go on explore the ethics that arise. Both books can be pretty heart wrenching. Side note: The Girl with All the Gifts was turned into a movie, which is pretty good, but I'd definitely recommend reading the book before watching the movie.
