I thought the same thing, especially all the stuff with skulls covered in flower wreaths! It'd fit right in with a lot of my collection, except for all the gold. I like some nice, bloody red, but I'm more up for silver or a nice bronze when it comes to metallic colors.

This is really gonna be a shock but I was just in a Walmart that had so much Gothic glassware...crystalline skull decanters, black skeleton hand goblets...I highly suggest looking into it.

Last year Kroger had some absolutely gorgeous skull and rose ceramic plates that could be used all year The ones I saw this year had more of a modern witch vibe but if you're into that aesthetic I'd check it out. Had some nice mugs too, though most of them were iridescent. I love iridescence though so I'm thinking of getting the cauldron shaped one.

I was pretty impressed by Big Lots' collection myself! My wife actually beat me to Halloween hunting this year, and had purchased a few things from there, and I was like, "You got those at Big Lots?" I'm used to seeing traditional "Halloweeny" things there, (stuff I would use for Halloween, but not year round) they have really stepped up their game this year (although I would still only use it around Halloween, because like you mentioned, they are a bit "colorful" but still very nice, but not too "cutesy") 💀

Out of all the big retail stores, Michaels was my absolute favorite. They focused a lot of their attention of Halloween florals this year, and produced some beautiful, if not a little expensive, Venus Flytrap wreaths and arrangements.

It’s an epidemic, lol...these not so big mainstream stores know that people like us will flock to them to buy for our homes, closets and crafts OR SOME of the normies will want to feel “trendy” and “goth cool” this year. Either way, I’d say these stores have been stepping up their game. Kudos..to them...I just picked up a few cool items at Home Goods the other day. The best decor for (Gothic) homemaking is available in early Autumn. Because I can't go to Salem, MA this year, this witch is creating an order of revels for celebrating the Blue Moon on Samhain night at home. If you haven't checked it out yet, I highly recommend Target's Halloween kitchen goods this year. The most notable is the $10 mini waffle makers. They come on skull and pumpkin waffle designs and they are 6.75" x 5"! I have a very small kitchen so these are not only a great space saver but an aesthetically pleasing addition as well.

I love going to second hand stores like goodwill and browsing their Halloween section. It's mostly just the crappy cheap costumes and decor but you find some real gems in there. I found a trenchcoat by Devil Fashion in the costume section. It was military style and had a lovely weathered faux leather fabric. The main zipper was a large cross and the zippers for the pockets were coffins. It was beautiful but it was too big and out of my price range. I also found an old candle holder that I got. You can also find a lot of the smaller items you see in these hauls in there

My son and I just did a mini Halloween haul and we drove right past Big Lots! Now I’m kicking myself for not stopping, I might have to check them out. I agree with the color scheme. All of those colors could instead be mixed with Day of the dead decor which could be a plus for some, but gothic is a style that can stand on its own without the help of too many colors.

Yessss! I bought the skeleton hand mirror, the crow sculpture, the "Frankenstein" hand lamp, and an owl from the fall decor section, and spray painted them all to my liking. I'm also amazed at the selection this year! Just beautiful! At Home has some lovely stuff this year too!

Hands down my favorite spooky item at Big Lots this year is the cloche with the two skulls inside. Covered in cobwebs with spiders inside, playing creepy sounds and music? Definitely a big recommend!

Big Lots was the first place I stopped at in search of decor this year; I literally shrieked when you showed the mirror, as it was one of the items I picked up (along w/the crow on a skull, although mine didn't have white highlights).

I'm in Trinidad so only a few people celebrate it. I do my house-It is one of the very few in the East of the island...It just me but it about making the best of it. I make my own stuff too.

Agree! My taste also leans more toward the "dark Victorian" and there's nothing like antiques for that. Can be expensive, but it's amazing how much nice genuinely old stuff in good quality you can find that is very affordable.

Still love all these haul videos, and I’m excited for when DIYs get aired up using some of the goods you snag! Hoping to go with a stone-grey Medieval theme for at least one room to call my own lair, primarily with draconic elements. I recall a previous video of this year’s hall had a dragon eye? I’m gonna have to shimmy on through those videos again and see what I can find! But looks like Big Lots might be my next stop this year, though I may attempt a second run through if Spirit Halloween myself. They had this little resin chest with a ram skull on the lid that I fell in LOVE with, but didn’t pick up since I already had well over $150 worth of items, even after splitting my purchase between my family to maximize Coupon usage (20% off a single item).

Spirit halloween has face masks this year!!! Some of them are a little cutesy/halloweeny but some are actually very elegant. The one I bought was black with red roses and skulls

I love your picks!! I purchased my first Palmistry hand last year at Big Lots and I believe they had it again on the website. It's black with chalky white for the symbols, makes it look old... it's resin and just really nicely detailed. That's been my aesthetic the last few years - Palmistry, Phrenology, Tarot, and Fortune-telling but these are lifestyle decor choices, which we all understand that Halloween is not just a holiday for us Goths! I also bought some art from Etsy to compliment a gallery wall, which has been nice knowing I'm helping support small artists and shops. I LOVE your Fall leaves and the orange decor you've added, I have a thing for orange, purple, and black together! And Danse Macabre is my FAVORITE song for this time of the year... the version I love best is here on KZbin by Sefa Emre İlikli, the video is visually beautiful! 10/10!

Our Big Lots had some really cool divination themed decor, I got planchette shaped wall hanging and a black and gold palmistry hand statue, and I also bought all those black and purple candles and a crescent moon shaped mirror and Halloween garden gnome, and I totally bought all those spiderweb placemats 😂

My local Big Lots didn’t really have a wide selection that the one you visited has, but they had a faux painting I was thinking about getting... it has a piano, and when you press the button on it a shadow of a pianist appears and plays the Funeral March... and It was only $20!

One of the things I found at my Big Lots was a gothic wreath. It was all black with red roses and a gold skull. Seemed like something you could take apart and use for other projects. The Big Lots I went to only had the creepy dolls. Very disappointing. Then I went to Jo Ann's Fabrics & Crafts and found a bunch of Halloween stuff, all in black and gold. You should check them out if you haven't already. :)

Big Lot’s has came a long way from when they first started. I’ve been really impressed by their growth as a cheaper store that is appealing to more then those just on a budget. That pumpkin/scarecrow animatronic had a nice sculpt- could be painted to be a tad spookier! I also agree that the crow could be enhanced to cover the white highlights with even some dark blue/purple. Overall I was really impressed with the hand light- I think that’s my favorite piece!
