Yep, I have a candy hangover this morning! OMG! My husband went to The Milton Hershey School (no joke!) and we have to represent! Milton Hershey and his wife Catherine started a school for orphan boys back in the early 1900’s. My husband lost his father at five years old. My husband is a twin and they both attended the school. It was a wonderful opportunity! So, when you buy Hershey candy, 51% of the profits go to support the school! Milton Hershey left all his wealth to the school! Very cool!

@@theholdernessfamily I was just saying the other day how convenient it is for people celebrating Halloween, that evey year they have 1-2 days off afterwards. But I didn't know, that in America, where it's such a huge thing, there is no official holiday following at the 1. and 2. This year it also switched from summer time to winter time. I'm a fan of our European more kids friendly traditions. Maybe you should import them too: carnival in the spring (dress up for kids up to a week and old school entertainment fair) accompanied by holidays. And the real Santa Claus celebration at the 6. of december, where children who behaved well, wake up to some candy and traditional healthy food and treats like different nuts, oranges, ginger bread and dates. At christmas, by the way, we have baby Jesus, looking like an angel, bringing all the presents.

I am from Spain and now kids are starting to do trick or treating (it wasn’t traditional here) but the good thing is that the traditional day here is Novembers 1st so it is always a holiday here the day after Halloween 😁

Halloween Hangovers are legit and who ever came up with Halloween needs a kick for not making it the last Sat in Oct so we have Sunday to recover. This is the first year we don't have one, it poured last night & after 45mins my 12yr old was over it. We were soaked through to the skin despite umbrellas and rain clothes (it rained sideways). But he still got lots of treats, I think people felt bad for the kids & gave out more than usual. He was happy & we were home by 7pm, works for us!

The Monday after Halloween is always the hardest for anyone with kids because it's a school day and it's a hassle to get them up and out of bed to get them ready to get out the door to school.
