You and Leslie have such a beautiful home! Just started watching your videos and you have inspired me to set up my Dept. 56 North Pole Village once again. I lost interest in it and stopped collecting pieces many years ago. Not only am I purchasing buildings on Ebay, but I'm going to build a multi-layered platform for the very first time this year. Thanks Carl for being such an inspiration for my creativity!

Hi Carl! Loved the house tour. I had all intention of setting up and doing a video but after 2 Hurricanes here in Florida I just don’t have the time. Working in the insurance industry as an adjuster and hurricane clean up, is just taking all my time. At least I get to enjoy your setup.

Looks great! Lighting definitely can make or break the atmosphere of your home and displays. A+. Your vignettes are masterclass. Each one becomes my favorite till I see the next one……. I hope you had a chance to check out my new Halloween Village video this year, The Smooching Skeleton Grand Theme Park. It was so fun to make. I'm also hoping to release a second Halloween Village video this week, showcasing my very first Halloween Village I built back in 2007. I've never shared it before as the tech to film back then was pretty rough, but given today's editing technology, I was able to clean it up with a 4K upscaler and remove most of the shakiness using stabilization software. Alaska is great! I used to live in Anthem/Happy Valley area and I went to Alaska on vacation. It was 56 degrees in Alaska and I went to an outdoor market in Anchorage and one of the locals was sweating and complaining about the heat. I had to laugh to myself a little bit. It's funny how we get acclimated to our surroundings. I'm in Northern Alabama now (Huntsville) and I battle the humidity, which is a different beast than the dry AZ heat. Beautiful home and Halloween decor, Carl!

@@HalloweenVillagesbyCarl oh, that makes sense. I’m still watching your video and totally agree about waiting on some of the rare retired pieces until you find one that’s a reasonable price point. I recently ordered the Dept 56 Alpine Village Black Forest Tower from an eBay seller that was still very pricey but I could live with it. A few months ago, I saw someone list the same item for five or six hundred bucks, I think. At the time, it was the only one for sale on eBay and it sold. Like you said, good on them, but we have to draw a line somewhere.

Great setup! I can tell you take pride in your house. Everything looks fantastic. Just one question, after the season, do you package away all of your pieces in its original boxes or do you just leave the sets out of sight on the displays?
