Cochrane was from a long line of pagan Druids and hated the fact that Halloween had become a night for sending out children to beg for candy instead of communing with the dead. The joke-shop just lulled everyone into a false sense of security until he could play the best joke of all on the children. And did you notice that none of the robots ever spoke? It was the one thing they hadn’t perfected yet. Ellie spoke constantly until she was rescued by Dr. Challis at the factory. They probably killed her and replaced her with a robot after they kidnapped her from the hotel room near the end of the movie.

It's a great standalone horror flick IMO. The creepiness factor is super high in the film, especially any time Dan O'Herlihy as Cochran starts speaking about the origins of Halloween with Dr. Challis. Good stuff.

When I was a kid i always hated this movie because Michael wasn't in it. I only watched H3 to get to Halloween 4 that came on after during the Halloween Movie Marathon on Tv..But over the years, ive grown to like it. It's a pretty Sick Horror Movie on its Own and in its own way. Music Kicks ass but I think if it was called Just "Season of the Witch" it would have done better 80s styleeee

I saw H3 in the theater. It would have been better received if the "Halloween" was dropped. It was advertised somewhat deceptively, and while many people didn't think Michael would be back, we still thought it would be another slasher. Like most, I hated H3 when it came out, but now it's one of my favorites.

Whoa! Mount Sterling is a slice of life. I live in the neighboring Winchester. Not much better. I really enjoy your reviews. I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s watching all the same movies. Halloween III was one of those that felt like it was all over the place. I agree with J in that the Halloween anthology may have worked on cable, but not on the big screen. Just days away from seeing Halloween 2018 at Regal Cinemas. I can’t wait!

I didn't like this movie as a kid because of "no Michael Myers " but over the years I grew a fondness for it. I agree it does have a Carpenter feel to it and I love the characters. I also feel Halloween 6 took some ideas from this movie as maybe a tie in to create more of a mythology to Michael Myers and the season of Samhain. The men in black with their unnerving, methodical like manners and the masks themselves; all seem to mirror Michael Myers in some way. Perhaps Halloween 3 is a prequel, with Michael Myers as a chosen experiment that maybe went wrong or they simply could not control or recreate. The scene where the TV is showing the trailer for Halloween and Michael is coming down the stairs is maybe a indirect storytelling way of showing the future. Nonetheless I always enjoy this movie, especially with a 12 pack of some type of shitty Miller beer so i can pretend I am the cool gritty womanizing Doctor! Cheers!🍻

I actually really like Season of the Bitch...I... wait...Witch! I meant Witch! All jokes aside, I did enjoy season of the witch, and I think it's a good movie. Don't know why they included the "III" in the title, since it's not really the third "Halloween" film, you know? I liked the idea Carpenter had of doing an anthology series of films, based around the holiday or season of Halloween, or about creepy, weird things happening on Halloween. It may not have worked in '82, but I think it could work today, maybe as a TV series. If John Carpenter was willing to do something like that, and if he wanted to bring back his idea, and see it come to fruition. Just my thoughts.

I remember first watching this movie when I was like 15 or 16. It was Halloween season I thought Micheal Myers was gonna in the movie. I was probably a hour into the movie when I realized that Micheal Myers wasn't gonna show up.which I now find hilarious I was probably like when the hell is Micheal Myers gonna show up. I saw this a few years ago I enjoyed now for what it is. it has a catchy jingle, The three mask look creepy and cool. you have kids are getting murdered by a evil organizing. The score is great. They should of still Called this Halloween : Season of the witch seeing that it still takes place on Halloween but drop the III to show everyone that is it own thing and now related to Micheal Myers.

Halloween III is the epitome of what a cult classic should be. I like it for all of it's quirkiness in characters and nonsensical agenda by it's villain. Clearly this film had some forward thinking on population control before Thanos got a hold of it.

Just watched this one. You guys are great! I was busy watching UFC 229. Now I'm waiting on October 19. Can't wait to see the new Halloween. The only reason why they made this is because they were forced to. Pluses of this movie is that it did have Annie Bracket as the wife, Jamie Lee Curtis was the voice for the curfew announcement and a cameo appearance of Michael Myers on tv in the original Halloween. Also, I have been singing that silver shamrock song every year. Lol, it's kind of catchy. You guys are awesome! Thanks so much.

Exactly. Mike hit it on the head, i honestly feel that's the main reason why H3 didn't work. Is because it needed to be part 2 to start the Anthology stuff you cant just start at number 3, would be much more successful as part 2. Personally i don't like the idea because. It can easily and should just be its own movie, take away the HALLOWEEN title and it's just another Horror movie, and should be.

Great review guys! I actually like this movie. I didn't the first time I saw it, because of the obvious reasons, but I was pretty young at the time. Despite the problems with it, it does feel like an early John Carpenter movie, which is a good thing. Solid horror flick with a few problems, but I gladly give it an 8/10. Looking forward to the next one my dudes!!

Halloween lll is better than A Nightmare on Elm Street. The creepy ambiance and deaths were done really well, but there were some lulls. And god dang, they had too many phone call scenes.

If there's something that Halloween 3 has over 2, which I still can't believe you two gave it an 8.5, it feels like there's barely anything that could be considered filler. Alice's death, the scene at the elementary school, those kids (badly) asking about Ben Tramer, the kid with the razor in his teeth, Mr. Garrett's cheap scare with the cat, Laurie's brief catatonia, all filler. I don't know what you guys have against Deputy Hunt. He provided a good change of pace from Brackett who just kept blaming Loomis, whereas Hunt actually listened. Mixter's unseen death. Also, I guess Michael studied phlebotomy while at Smith's Grove with how he bled Nurse Alves out (again, unseen). Laurie being unable to scream doesn't make sense. Also, Warlock's movements often seem really strange compared to the very fluid Castle. All that being said, it has more going for it that against it, but I couldn't give it anymore than a 7-7.25. Season of the Witch is a solid 7.5-7.75. 6 is way too low.

I find the best way to watch the Halloween movies is to take the numbers off the titles after Halloween 2. I always call h3, Season of The Witch: A Halloween Story.

I enjoy that film every time I watch it and I liked where John Carpenter was going with it however I don't think he realized how big of an Icon Michael Myers (The Shape) became during the duration of Halloween and Halloween 2. I think if John Carpenter would have thought about it long enough he may have and I think he should've just Called it Samhain Season of the Witch or just Season of the Witch. I still think he can make a different franchise based around the Halloween season just with a different name like Samhain which is the Celtic Pagan holiday that was before we here in America started calling it Halloween I do think that he could make some good movies based around horrific events of the season without calling it Halloween because obviously that's MICHALE FUCKING MYERS time too kill and I believe Samhain has a longer time frame as well as a different starting and ending date similar to other pagan holidays. Perhaps if John Carpenter doesn't do this maybe someone will pick up on his idea which I think would be awesome too have a franchise of horror movies based around the pagan holiday Samhain or what it's called in Spanish..... Fuck I forgot but its roughly the same concept Day of the Dead where spirits return for one day or two however long it takes and with that evil spirits return and try and manifest into the living and so on hell there maybe movies already like that either way Halloween 3 : Season of the Witch is a good film different and unique I think people should really give it a chance for what it is.
