These were captured after a long line of storms went through and the clouds finally cleared out on early Halloween morning. By the time the clouds had cleared the line of storms were just north of Little Rock Arkansas about 250 to 260 miles away from me. This was the 3rd time this year i captured numerous sprites in a night but this morning was unique in that most were multiple sprites at the same time, some were chains that crossed what at that distance would be likely over a hundred miles. This might be one of the best single event sprite compilations ever.
FWIW - I noticed these are occurring at about the same height and higher that meteor fireballs burn in at that same distance. As you can see I do plenty of meteors as well, I report them to the AMS and with that can usually find with other reports where the meteor was actually were overhead. These line up pretty well at that same distance or are happening higher than fireballs based on the radar of the storms that were creating them as well as some lightning strike trackers...
These are NOT to be used in any other videos. These are my material and no one has permission to use them in any personal or compilation videos. If you see them somewhere else let me know and thanks. Spaceweather.com will be the only exception at this point.
. Enjoy.
