I want to clarify a few things, I just dislike being treated as only some dude who's mentally ill. I'm glad to help people as much as I can, it just brings me down when people come to me and just treat me like that mentally ill guy and that's all I am to people.

One of the reasons for that is, because that's what your channel is about. It's even in the channel name, so that will be what you're known for. But there are solutions to that. You could start a second channel and talk about whatever you want, besides mental health. Many people who are subscribed to you would love that. Cheers!

I’m so sorry you’ve encountered a lot of those! Don’t forget that people like that tend to be boooring, unempathetic, 1-dimensional folks. In my experience, with both my own struggles and others’, surviving and thriving with mental illness cultivates - almost demands - that the sufferer grow in empathy and depth. Basically, I’d hang out with you not because you’re mentally ill, but because you seem to have developed that humor, depth, and complexity that somehow only comes from surviving some dark shit 💝

@@Ihaveschizophrenia1 Don't worry too much, man. I know it's easy to say, but we all have to live with our burdens. Like I mentioned, you can always feel free to talk about something else. Hi weight gain is from the anti-psycotics, one thing that helped me in a life or death panic attack was to accept everything in the world as it is and let go to the fear of death, it feels like falling backwards into nothingness. The meaning to life is love (yes it sounds like BS). I take melatonin for sleep, 1.5 hours before bed otherwise I'm up for days and end up in hospital. I was tested for sleep apnea which made a huge difference after getting my machine, I wake up refreshed with as little as 5 hours sleep, my symtoms have reduced so much, even my negative ones have improved. One of my worst touch hallucinations was getting eaten alive by dogs, i tended to get paranoia and delusions, but also mind chatter, these days my mind is a nice place pretty much quiet with the odd song that pops up with what im thinking about or doing. 🙂

I watch you for understanding, not help. Doctors can't tell me what this illness is, they hardly understand anything of the brain. Watching you after my girlfriend got schizophrenia allowed me to understand the bit I needed to help her. You're part of that, but at the end of the day there is more to you than this. That's a beautiful possibility there to take hold of.

schizoprenia most time come from childhood trauma, even those you don't remember or from taking too much drugs..at least what i saw around me. i had friend who were and i worked with him on past trauma, been not easy at all but he is better, really better now, more stable. having good schedule sleep and eating healthy, exercise, the music you listen to, working on your fear by confronting them help a lot. Have you ever try a healing session (energy work)? also help release anxiety...and also people around should let people on psychose talk about the voices or things you see without judgement. there some therapy i think in sweden call open dialogue got good result.

Thanks for the video Jacob, always watching. I’m trying to come to terms with myself that using the word schizophrenia kinda feels like I’m speaking it into existence which I can understand on why you don’t want to just be referred to the guy that speaks on schizophrenia or mental health. I know there’s people that struggle with this condition like myself. But like you also said that not being around negative people helps you have a positive outlook on life, very agreeable. Anyways strive to stay positive Jacob there’s gonna be hell like days and happy days. Each day is a mystery and that is why you should keep going just to know what that mystery is.. 💯💚🙏🏽✅

It takes a little bit of time to adjust to physical differences in our bodies. Sometimes if there's PTSD in the mix our appearance can be linked to how we feel, depending, because it's so repeatedly and routinely a part of our every day no matter what has happened. And so when that changes, we notice, and we notice in ways we might not be cognisant of. With this in mind, gently taking it day by day has been key for me. I wish peace for everyone. Take care all 🙏

I literally can't think of anything right now except whats in those tanks haha, I hope that helps because whilst I found your channel looking for awareness, I would just love to know what animals you have there. I think I see another video of yours in the side panel recommendations, about animals, so I guess Iwill head there next :) Also I put on weight too since going into the late 20s and into 30s but you're a super good looking guy, incase you didnt know, so if theres extra weight, it aint hurtin haha, also you look healthy! I hope that helps to know, and im totally here for whatver content you want to post, post literally whatver you want it doesnt have to just be about mental health, have fun and do whatever you want :D (and u dont have to feel pressured to post either.) I am a fucking mess mentally, I know what you mean about people not seeing you as anything more than that. I counter it by just focusing on living my happiest life and I just share it and hope they can just start to see my joy and maybe itll spread, Ialso sometimes am negative, like you said, both is normal. You are a deep, intelligent, interesting, cool person, focus on your qualities and know you're perfectly human and awesome and what you're going through is not who you are. Oh and just about the hallucinations, i saw the transparent alien type people when I had psychosis from not sleeping, they didnt touch me just stood there, but I have felt pressure where I was being hurt when I had PTSD episodes, its full on, can relate to that. nowdays I jus dont sleep much and feel scared all the time, its 5am here, I just cannot sleep, totally wired from panic, source unknown. I am also in a constant mental battle. ive found something strange though, that lately I have found myself randomly smiling and today I just randomly had to dance and I felt elated. idk what it is but it felt nice after so many years of being on edge literally 24/7, it felt so freeing, just for a moment. All I can think of that could be causing this relaxation is that I did a bit of cleaning and decluttering. and I had some nice quiet times, if youre hearing things a lot I bet your mind isnt quiet enough, youre probably living on stress hormones 24/7. I get the heart disease fears too and feel like I cant breathe well, no bruises but stress rashes and I scratch myself in my sleep. I have no idea what helps with all of this , but nature walks are nice, maybe try that if you can. I have also been doing some stretching like yoga, maybe thats been helping. and eating more fruit and vegetables. But yeah as a fellow person living in constant battle and with a history of mental health stuff i totally get it, being seen as just mentally unwell all the time, its dehumanising and insulting. I do highly recommend just focusing completely on living life to the fullest or getting into stuff that you enjoy or make you happy. You will be living your best life so much that their opinion will no longer even matter, and the happy byproduct is the fact they may just start to see the side of you that you have been hoping theyd be able to see oneday :)

I feel you about wanting to be seen for more than some traits that you have. I have Schizophrenia and PTSD, and I often vent to my friends about it because it can be really hard to live with, and I sometimes feel like they just see me as the mentally ill guy. Or the guy that is traumatized from a bunch of bad shit. Sometimes I wish I could just go a single day without being reminded of my conditions. Just a relaxing day not thinking about anything stressful without anyone reminding me that I'm mentally ill. Dream day.

People gain weight as they age. Compare a young boot camp soldier to an experienced soldier after a few years and you can see how they bulk up there. The experienced soldier's are much heavier looking even though they are both fit. Or it's the usual med problems. For what it's worth I think you look better and healthier now compared to when you were 'skinnier'

i have a friend with bipolar (his mother also had this illness). his first symptom happened during a sleepover when we were friends. he was around 10 or 11, i was around 13. it was a night terror- still in a nightmare state but appearing wide awake, able to talk and walk. it's terrifying to witness it, but i can only imagine what it must be like living with it himself. he's in his 40s now, medications have helped, but the side effects can be unpleasant.

Weight gain and insomnia are connected. If you do a quick Google search you can find out how. There may be a link also with your medication. I am not a doctor, not a medical professional, not a nurse and not even really educated on mental illness, but I do know that because I have a really really hard time sleeping right now, It’s nearly impossible to lose the 20 pounds I want to lose. There is definitely a connection between insomnia and sleep deprivation and weight gain. Also, sometimes I eat more than I think I’m eating. So I don’t know if your habits have changed with food or if it’s something internal in your body or your hormones or your medication. And then there’s the sucky fact that ad we age we change and metabolize food differently. I’d love to hear about your cat and spiders

High dose Seroquel makes it harder to loose weight, because it slows metabolism through hormonal imbalance and increased cravings for carbs. You could try Keto Cycling or reducing carbs signifigantly while doing short intensity workouts like HIITs. Those types of exercises increase your androgen levels, and help you loose weight quickly combined with a good diet.

Would really like to hear your perspective on his work sometime, do you think this is legitimate? Hope your doing well bro.

It could be your medicine causing the weight gain even if you been on it for while I have no idea but most psychiatric medication messed my weight. All the medications you mentioned can do that.If you can get your thyroid checked hypothyroidism can affect your metabolism. Medications like what your on can mess with the thyroid. Lithium messed up my thyroid for a while and I was gaining weight. I have terrible luck with medication so I don’t take it because nothing works for me. Sometimes i take Ativan but only if I really need it I don’t have schizophrenia have been forced those medicines in the past by really. A lot medications can mess with the thyroid. Stimulant medication can do it and some food if it has soy. I don’t take thyroid medicine anymore.

Get a road bike and a turbo trainer and do some indoor bike sessions, that combined with careful eating and walking once or twice a day will probably make you lose some weight. Also the tiredness it will bring might mean you can lower your meds dosage as well but that might not be feasible if your hallucinations are bad.. all the best 🙂
