i didnt play halo 1 till halo 2 was out. halo 2 was too expensive so much parents got me an xbox and halo 1 bundle

I was in middle school when Halo skyrocketed into popularity. Actual fights were occurring in the hallway over whether Morrowind or Halo was "the best Xbox game." I had only played Morrowind at that point, so I decided to check out Halo. By the time Halo 2 came out, I had a solid dozen and a half friends who would come over regularly for a LAN party. You have not TRULY experienced Halo of any caliber, until you have gone to a physical LAN party. Being in the same room, getting all the Xbox's plugged in, figuring out how to properly space the room out, talking shit to each other during the game, ordering pizza, and nobody wanting to leave at the end of the night because we were all recapping the games we had just played together. Not even close to replicable nowadays.

Wow this is so cool! I've played Halo online but never experienced a LAN party. They sound amazing, I've seen videos of them on the Making of Halo 2 documentary and looked so fun. Thanks for sharing! 🙌❤️

@@SleepJukebox I have that documentary on disk from buying the premium edition of Halo 2 when it was released. It's extremely accurate. Online is fun, but actually getting 40 or 50 people together to play Halo in person is a completely different universe of gaming 🙏🏻♥️

Hell yeah dude. My buddies and I would take turns hosting a “game night” for our birthday. Which consisted of a trip to the local game shack in the mall. They offered a deal for birthdays where you could go in at their 5 pm opening until their close at 2 am. Monster energy drinks were a dollar on the deal. We would game all night on all of our favorite games on every console and then head back to the hosts house to then spend the night and continue playing Halo 3/cod 4 LAN parties until the sun came up. Truly one of the greatest times in my life.

man i remember being 4 or 5 playing the Halo CE and 2 on the original xbox that my dad got thru a flea market. i still remember shutting off the console when the evil space popcorn known as the flood first appeared lol. i was born in 2003 so i played around the time halo 3 first came out and didnt play 3 or Reach till around 2011. many hours of shit talking in game chat and being a squeaker to 20 year olds who probably just got off work, shooting the shits with my school buddies, dicking around and just being stupid. man i miss those days. what i would give to go back in time and just.....play again like i used to. back when my favorite games were still popular and full of people, when you could have some guy have hitler as his emblem in black ops 2. when you could turn your brain off for hours playing SWAT and infected. Buidling hobo-shacks and underground kingdoms in Minecraft. Delving into the caves and caverns of Skyrim, and watching Dragon Ball Z every day after school. The glory days people, where have they gone...?
