An iteration of Regret/Delta Halo that was entirely cut. I already uploaded a video of this, but I found out that the entire opening is scripted, so I decided to reupload it, with the addition of retail textures so it's not as ugly looking. The structures at the beginning that have several floors and the final part of the Temple of Regret honestly seem completely superior compared to the final version we had in the game, And I honestly don't know why they couldn't be completed.

I think I like Cortana's dialogue better here - it's better at underlining the initial horror at the idea that the Covenant wanted to activate Halo on purpose, mistaking it for their Great Journey. In the final version of the mission, Regret kinda just mentions it and Cortana's like "ehhhh, we should stop him, right?"

Hey! I don't know how often you read the comments section here but there's a couple things you can do with the leaked tags to make things more accurate. shiek_waterworks contains much older variants of scenery and device machines. If you overwrite the contents of your tags directory with the contents in shiek_waterworks (excluding the actual .scenario files) you'll get blockout versions of the regret doors and the pistons on sentinelhq. You've probably already done some of the work since I saw you had the old skybox for earthcity. Most of these scenarios were compiled when the weapon sandbox was very early and still had weapons like the single-shot 12-round capacity BR. Most of Digsite's tags work well as a substitute but the latest update broke some of their animations (empty reload for the SMG). The only issue is that NPCs such as marines won't fire with the weapons. You can fix this by adding an entry for the digsite weapons in their character tag or just overwriting the base weapons with the digsite tags. Earthcity's second BSP can be fixed by editing the water shader; it's using an out of date template which causes the game to crash when it loads. I don't remember how to fix this at the moment but I'll try and look into it if you're interested. Run debug_scripting true while you're playing through the scenarios; some of the logic is broken and needs to be manually moved forward with wake commands in a few cases, such as the elevator for sentinelhq.

Hi, i did overwrite most of the tags with the older ones, but it ended up breaking a few things (mainly doors looked messed up) so i restored them for this video. I mainly wanna show them as-is with retail stuff unless it ends up looking extremely broken (like deltatemple). I did end up fixing earthcitys 2nd bsp, but considering its basically identical to retail idk if i really need to upload that. I'll keep the debug scripting stuff in mind for the future though if i look back on anything, thanks.

@@pstenci The only caveat I have about showing these levels with retail tags only is that there's not a lot of public footage of these levels around and as far as I can tell the shiek_waterwork tags are a lot closer in date to when these levels would have been made; I'm of the opinion it's good to make them as accurate as possible One interesting thing about Earthcity's second BSP is that the turretless warthogs are actually supposed to be troophogs in the scenario; besides that, it's also interesting to see the second pelican squad with pilot marines. If you want to revisit earthcity at some point you might want to look into the character variants for the marines; they call for generic versions of the odst and pilot variants but because those don't exist anymore it randomizes their permutations. I also noticed the intro cutscene for earthcity wasn't in your first video. Did you manually skip it? Just curious

Yeah i understand the notion that they're closer in date. But I prefer to leave things as-is if possible (if that makes any sense). I'll probably re-do earthcity since what you mentioned does sound interesting (and i think i used the wrong hsc file, anyways, a lot of stuff didnt match the scenario). I didn't know much about halo modding (past ce at least) and have been figuring out a lot of stuff as i go, so thanks for the help.

@@pstenci For sure! Regarding the hsc files I wouldn't use anything from the MCC H2EK data folder; I think they're for different versions of the level. Before you null out the scenario resources (assuming that's the method you're using) get the script data cluster first and extract it from the scenario. You'll be able to edit the script where it won't compile until it fully works. One more thing; in the debug menu for Halo 2 there's a setting which lets you view actor position and their squad orders. A lot of these scripts are dependent on every enemy being dead to move forward and the AI is pretty broken in tag test, so this really helps for moving the level forward as intended.

Yeah i only noticed the .hsc scripts were different after i made the earthcity video. Was just excited to upload that video so i kinda rushed lol

Really like how this looks. How were you able to add shaders to this? Are you using 3DS max or blender? If you used blender, how did you manage to load it?
