I personally just really dislike the criticisms of hl2’s weapons. For things like the crossbow I somewhat agree, but for things like the smg’s and other weapons... well no, the combine presence on earth isn’t that big in reality and barely any resources are being put into earth, and you can tell, as in half life alyx the combine were all equipped with energy weapons, but that was too expensive to this small outpost on a middle of nowhere world. So they switched to human weaponry that was plenty available. Edit: also I really, really dislike his justification for weapon limits.

Doesn't really matter, they could have given a lore reason justifying interesting weapons instead of giving a lore reason to justify boring human guns. So many bad design decisions in HL2 are justified by lore when they shouldn't be. Like the lack of enemy variety, the game having almost no aliens and you mostly fighting guys in gas masks and headcrab zombies being justified with some dumb lore reason as to why you're constantly fighting humans and why the alien fauna is being kept away from the city or is somewhere lost in the wilderness or whatever. You can use lore to justify any dumb design decision but at the end of the day no amount of justifying will make the game any less boring. This is coming from someone who used to love HL2 but nowadays I acknowledge that on a pure gameplay and replayability level, Halo 2 and Half Life 1 run circles around it.

I feel like it's not a good idea to conmpare these two games. They have some similarities, but for the msot part they're incredibly different. Also, some complaints: Calling a weapon "fanservice" isn't a good point when, while not exactly about Halo 2, it's been done in games from this series you're hyping up so much. The crossbow appearing in HL2 isn't a fanservice callback or a "haha techdemo physics go brr" moment, it's place is a Resistance weapon made from spare parts, showing ingenuity (also, the idea of a red-hot rebar crossbow is honestly really cool). Every weapon in HL2 is designed to fit a specific role- the pistol is weak but a good sidearm and it has plenty of ammo scattered around the world almost everywhere. the SMG is for the early to mid game close-quarters engagements where the Crowbar would be too risky and the pistol would be too weak. The Magnum is really just a flexing weapon but it's still one of the best for taking out stronger Combine in one to two headshots. The AR2 (or Pulse Rifle) is a long range automatic weapon designed for use in the later half of the game when SMG ammo is scarce. The alien weapons not showing up is because they would have no place as the enemies they come from don't even appear in HL2. The experiemental weapons would also have no place in the sandbox because of the setting. Why was the Combine using normal Human weapons? I dunno, maybe because we have an excess of them here and it's easier to mass produce them over bioweapons like the creatures from Xen used? I can understand the hate on the vehicle secions- they're fun for a while but do drag on. Plus, HL2 doesn't base part of it's sandbox around the vehicles so they were, naturally, going to be the weaker element. Okay, talking about the NPCs in HL2 like that is disrespectful to the story. These are characters who you did meet in 1 (Kliener and Eli were both featured in the opening before the Resonance Cascade and are the ones who actually tell Gordon to go out and get help), but you'd know that if you actually paid attention to the story.

@snark567
@snark567 2 жыл бұрын
If you rub two braincells together you'd realize that the characters that were retconned as Eli and Kleiner had no chance of escaping Black Mesa because the only available path was the one Gordon took, filled with zombies, houndeyes, bullsquids and bottomless pits, only to arrive to the We've got hostiles section that was overrun by HECU on the topside and the only other direction led to more aliens, HECU, giant tentacle aliens, radioactive waste, gargantuas, assasins, etc. And at the end Gordon himself never made it out of the facility, he only got as far as the Lambda sector which was also underground and the only reason he survived was because he was put in stasis by the G-Man after he was teleported to Xen. Half Life fans love to bring up the lore so much even though half of it makes zero logical sense.

I heavily disagree with the 2 weapon limit argument. Sure, having to account for the player having every weapon during an engagement can constrain the developers, but it benefits the replay value of a game since it encourages experimentation. If you're restricted to two weapons, you're always going to go after the strongest, most efficient weapons because of, as you said, "the path of least resistance." Sure, the player could arbitrarily seek weaker weapons for more of a challenge, but that ignores the fact that they're also constrained by the weapons offered in that specific level. If a player decides to save the ammo for their powerful weapons if they have no weapon limit, the pay off of saving their ammo is a much easier engagement/boss battle. It's literally by design of the system. Arguing that it "invalidates" the engagement is a dismissal of the player's careful decision-making that allowed him to make that engagement that much easier. While 2 weapon limits are fine for games like Halo or Call of Duty, it is not universal.
@SeniorCharry
@SeniorCharry 2 жыл бұрын
The two weapon system is amazing if the sandbox is balanced. Halo 1's weapons, for example, were all great for different encounters so it forced the player to think about what they need at that time, and if you don't have what you need then you have to adapt. As you pointed out, ammo management for a whole inventory of weapons can also provide great gameplay and strategy. It all comes down to how well the developers balance the game in my opinion.

The "strongest weapons" will change depending on the situation. That's what's great about how Halos enemies and sandbox.
@LondonLock
@LondonLock 2 жыл бұрын
That's where game design comes in. Making the best weapons either a bitch to lug around due to ammo or hard to obtain in a fight without working your way to them you need to break what every enemy has and in what order you should kill them an take their shit if needed to best get from point A to point B and in a well made sandbox the best weapons will change massively with small change's in AI reaction. If the enemy put's be in a situation where I want higher ground or just generally more mobility i'm going to want a brute shot but it's really not the best for damaging so I best be able to have another weapon up there given in this situation i'm on the run. So what do I want? Plasma is great for taking down shields but it's lack of health damage mixed with my meh 2nd weapon means it's not going to be a great combo so instead I might take a marine's battle riffle. Change the situation slightly to the enemy being more cover based and while the brute shot might be able to blow their cover away when I close the gap i'm going to want to change do a different loadout. Be it a plasma then BR combo, A duel wield spam loadout trying to stop any regen ect ect

Regenerating shields also encourage players to try out different tactics, as they can retreat if something doesn't quite work out at first try. In shooters with conventional health pickups players often would use quick-save as a crutch.

Great video! In terms of movement 35:00 I feel games like CS:GO don't hinder movement but promote a different 'style' of movement. For instance, in Halo you can get rewarded for playing aggressively and pushing for power weapons, but can be severely punished for being out positioned. In CS:GO's case the movement in my opinion is more nuanced and requires a higher skill barrier. If positioned poorly in CS:GO chances of surviving are nil, but if the player learns to counter strake, shoulder peek, jiggle peak etc. the probability of surviving is greater. I know this really isn't about Half Life 2 and Halo 2 but I guess CS is a spawn from Half Life.

The part about weapons has two weak points, I think. (1) Halo might have a higher amount of weapons, but many of them are just the same weapon with slightly different stats. Of course, one might be more efficient against armor and the other against flesh etc, but still you can basically divide Halo's rooster by 2 because you have most of the weapons in a human and a covenant form, but technically the same weapon. Yes gain, the look and work slightly different, but it's still just several pistols, several machine guns etc Not that "the more guns the better the game", but still worth a mention. It's the variety that counts, not the pure amount. (2) Half-Life has a lot of weapons, but they are not a linear progression of getting better. Most weapons serve a specific purpose and you will keep using them from the first moment you get them until the very end of the final episode. I still smash stuff with the crowbar, snipe Headcrabs with the pistol and fight fodder with the weaker machine gun in the last few levels. Funnily you compare the "good" system to Doom Eternal, a game that does the same (although more extreme, yes): A specific tool for every situation. Eternal has a full arsenal, just as Half-Life. And here you see the diversity and situational uses as a positive thing -- that is just what Half-Life does. And what Halo cannot provide: You cannot do "puzzle encounters" that force you to think of the correct weapon to use in this specific situation - Halo has to offer combat situations that can be solved with everything and is therefore deeper in one specific situation but flatter overall.
@_Phen_
@_Phen_ Жыл бұрын
Halo's sandbox isn't divided by 2. Yes, some weapons deal flesh damage more while others deal shield damage more. But it's just an example. The sniper for instance is a weapon that deals a bunch of damage long range with or without shields. Same with the Rocket Launcher. Instead Halo's sandbox is categorized. Which means each weapon deals, functions, shoots, controls differently to one and other. There is no over-lay nor redundancy between weapons . In a way, each feels unique and special even though some weapons are powerful than others in different situations. For example, the sniper is an excellent tool against the Covenant but when you get to the flood it becomes useless and meaningless due to it being significantly harder to kill flood with sniper rifles. As such, the game encourages you to experiment and choose between different weapons rather than sticking to a specific one through out the game. And this is where weapon limit comes in. Halo, in design, provides a unique gameplay loop where grenades, melee and shooting comes together to create some form of "dance" where everything is intuitive and responsive which as a result presents a nice and fast flow of combat thanks to the fact that grenades and melee occupy different buttons contrary to Half Life. Your point on half life may become valid if there was more enemy variety in general and a challenging chess match happening within the game. What's the point of having all these unique and special weapons if you're shooting the same enemies the same way. I love both Half Life 2 and Halo 2 because they are 2 faces of the same coin. And i love how they provide unique experiences with similar goals. Which is having fun in a special way relative to their respective games.
@fsmcas
@fsmcas Жыл бұрын
@@_Phen_ You are completely correct, but you've misread my comment: "divided by 2" does not mean that all weapons are the same. I meant that if Halo has 30 weapons, technically those count only as 15 (30/2) because you have the same weapon twice, once alien once human. Yes, snipers are useful in one case and useless in another, but the human sniper or the alien sniper offer the same effect. So saying "Half Life has fewer weapons than Halo" might be correct on a numeric scale, but Halo's weapon rooster only has half the amount from a usability standpoint.

@@fsmcas I respect your opinion and i understand your point now but i disagree. Though they have the same effect. The beam rifle and the Sniper don't function the same therefore it's kind of a stretch to consider them the same. Even half life 2 has this "issue". There are 2 pistols, 2 rifles that basically do the same effect. You're saying these 2 snipers aren't different enough while i would argue THAT the way they deal damage is different thus making them unique... enough at least. Which i think is related to multiplayer balance more than everything else. I wouldn't say it's fully unique because the brute and Elite plasma rifles exist. This issue was resolved however in Halo infinite. In conclusion, i know it's kind of an issue but it's not really a big deal to me at least. Especially considering that are literally only 2 weapons that function the same, and deal the same damage. EDIT: I fully agree that having more weapons, doesn't mean having more variety but that statement really just applies on Halo 5 more than 2.

In HL just because you have many weapons you can't spam all of them all the time. The rocket launcher and SMG grenade launcher each have only 3 rounds and the ammo is rare in most maps. Same with Tau/ Gluon ammo in HL1 or Black Mesa. The game could easily impose restrictions with map design or ammo quantity. Being forced to carry only two weapons is fine for repeat runs when you know the best to keep. The first playthrough I think benefits greatly from experimentation. I agree with the NPCs in HL2. The lack of friendly fire is immersion breaking af. They are extremely naggy and the squad mechanics are rough. I use console commands to get them to leave me alone.

Is there any evidence that halo had 2 weapons because of memory limitations? Memory is going to be a part of every decision a game designer makes, because it is his currency regardless of platform, and he must make the most of what he has. That's why there are plenty of games on the Xbox original that allowed for carrying more weapons, for example doom 3. The real reasons are probably 3 fold. 1. At the time it was often said that carrying 10 weapons was a silly aspect to FPS games such as doom. 2. Controller doesn't allow for easily selecting between 10 weapons u like keyboard, although 4 is a good number such as dead space have weapon selection on the d pad. 3. Games were rapidly evolving in that time period, and everyone was trying new things that would shake up the formula.

@kristoferkoessel4354 3 жыл бұрын
@@ShreddedNerd Absolutely true but there are of course some concepts of story telling that were utilized in half life 1 that caused it to take off in such a manner that it was regarded as one of the first true first person shooters to have a story. This story telling alongside the new technologies developed such as skeletal animations and differential scripted events amongst certain entities was the reason why so many companies afterwards tried to replicate such practices. It will always be arguable that first person shooters before half life 1 had complex stories and maybe even good ones, I agree with you because it would be stupid for me to say that you are wrong. But one thing I will have to argue with is if you look statistically at the popularity of these games before and after half life, you will see that the vast majority of developers had copied certain story elements and intertwined gameplay that was only seen in half life 1. After these developers released their fps’s containing these elements, their games became very very popular. Half life 1 had essentially caused a massive videogame revolution. Bungie may have been making complex and even good stories intertwined with gameplay, but it just never was exactly the games to cause a new standard for story telling. But another thing I can say is that half life 2 could’ve definitely stole ideas from halo gameplay-wise I.e: Halo combat evolved had vehicles before any half life game, unless you count the tram in the chapters “blast pit”, “on a rail”, and “apprehension” in half-life 1. Half life 2 could’ve stolen the idea of vehicles in Half life 2. But fortunately I’m only talking about half life 1. But again it will always be opinionated. Way I see it is that bungie could’ve shaped some of the decisions at valve and valve could’ve shaped the decisions at bungie and in some cases we do see that. But Half-Life 1 so happened to manage to not only put itself on the radar instantly, it managed to create a standard that everyone wanted to follow, even bungie. But bungie did do a lot of things that took this formula and deviated it to make it their own, which many other companies wouldn’t do. Like I said if valve didn’t manage to make such an advancement in 1998, then someone would’ve done it without them. How long would it take? What would the effect be? Would the magnitude be the same? Who knows? But history factually says that it was valve. Whether any of us like it or not. It’s undeniable history. Whether you agree or not is up to you, as you are entitled to you opinion and I respect your opinion as well. But in the end whether I disagree with you or not, I still enjoyed your video! One thing is for certain though, regardless of how important Half-Life 1 is for the history of FPS’s, First person shooters, and the video-game infrastructure we have today wouldn’t be the same without Bungie or Valve.

I feel like my biggest gripes with Half-Life 2, the base game, are weak puzzle design and enemy design. The latter gets addressed in Episode 2. There are too many puzzles that you solve by putting things on some kind of lever. The physics were novel, but they didn’t really get very creative with it. Compared to The Legend of Zelda games that came out years earlier, the puzzle design is just bland. The game would be better off without most of them. There are enough basic, regular, enemy designs in the game for like one or two factions, but they got spread out into three enemy factions. The combine, the main antagonists you face, essentially just have soldiers, who get progressively beefier variants, but are still the same basic thing, and man hacks. The Antlions have drones and queens. The head crabs have normal headcrabs, poison headcrabs, normal zombies, and fast zombies. Of these, man hacks, head crabs, poison head crabs, and ant lion drones are all extremely weak, melee only, cannon fodder enemies that serve virtually the same role in combat, a minor nuisance. The game will occasionally bless you with a hovership to fight, but those are far too sparse and some of those encounters aren’t even combined with other enemies. The Striders, armored cars, Helicopter, and combine snipers are about as interactive and common as the scarab in Halo 2, and about as interesting to fight as a single National Socialist in CoD 2, so I don’t feel any desire to count them. I don’t count the traps in Ravenholm as enemies, either. These are practically level geometry. There are many encounters where you only encounter one type of enemy, which sucks. The episodes flesh out the enemy roster, and by episode 2 we have the Hunter, the acid spitting ant lion, and the Zombine, which make the expansions’ combat actually fun. Half-Life 2 is a great game in aggregate, but unfortunately you have to play the whole thing to get to the parts that are really great, unless you just skip to Episode 2, which learns from its predecessors’ mistakes. Comparing it to Halo 2, the Covenant has Grunts, Elites, Drones, Hunters, and Brutes. The Elites have more, and more varied, variants than the Combine Soldiers, coming in Stealth, Ranger, and berserker Zealot flavors, in addition to the Blue, Red, Black, and White, which are more or less separated by beefiness and aggression like Combine Soldiers. They also tend to wield more varied weapons. The Jackals also come in sniper and soldier forms, which play very differently. These also very commonly come along with a variety of dynamic, AI controlled vehicles, the Ghost, Specter, Banshee, and Wraith, though the specter is poorly balanced for counterplay, being essentially a Covenant Warthog with a hitscan machine-gun. The secondary antagonist Flood have only three real enemy types, the combat forms, infection forms, and carrier forms, roughly corresponding to fast headcrab zombies (with the added variety of weapons), head crabs, and the zombines with grenades in HL2:E1. The tertiary Sentinels have only two types, enforcers and sentinels (which have a hilarious gold variant), but these are almost never sent at the player alone. They are always mixed in with Covenant or flood, often in Melee a Trois scenarios, which is a trope Half-Life 2 really should have used more. It’s rare to enter an encounter and not see at least three clearly distinct enemy types in Halo 2. Seeing five to seven isn’t uncommon. Sometimes you’ll see more enemy variety in one encounter than Half-Life 2 has in the entire base game.

My main gripe with Halo 2 is difficulty balance. It’s a bit easy on Heroic and a terrible slog on legendary. There’s no really perfect difficulty to play it with. Ultimately my recommendation with both games is just to play their predecessors, then skip to Episode 2 and Halo 3.

Gotta heavily disagree with some of your points. 1. The puzzles. I don't know where you got "most of the puzzles get solved by pulling a lever". Not true at all, most of the puzzles in Half Life 2 are physics based. Sometimes you'll need to stack objects to progress, use the weight of the objects to lift/destroy something, you'll sometimes need to use gravity gun for higher precision in these momments, you'll need to attach cables or find batteries, a lot of these can happen in water aswell for example in one puzzle you need to swim to the bottom of a water pit and destory the planks that are holding other wooden objects, once you destroy them those objects will float up allowing you to jump to the other side. It's simple but there is a lot of other shit. The physics puzzles can go far in Half Life 2. 2. On the enemies, you are right. Halo 2 has better enemies. But seriously? You don't like Striders? Striders are fucking awesome. Their design looks sick and the way they move, function and represented is amazing. Also antlions, manhacks and headcrabs are both meele and you could say they are weak but none of them are the same and borh function differently. Manhacks can obviously fly already making them different from the other and on top of that have other functions, for example the player can use manhacks as a weapon against other enemies. Antlions can jump across far and high distances, they can also latter be controlled and have a cool section where you use the physics objects to cross a huge sand beach without touching the ground or you will be ganged upon, they are also afraid of specific machines made to counter them which player can use as a shield or a way to attack other enemies. And finally for the headcrabs they are different beacuse they are usually an ambush enemy attacking from places the player would most likely not look at if they are not careful and there are 3 types of headcrabs aswell. Also you are not going to see more enemy variety in Halo 2 in a single encounter considering Half-Life 2 has about 20 enemy types in it. Now the reason i like Half Life 2 more is the more varied, atmospheric and interesting world than Halo 2 (not that i am saying Halo 2 has a bad world, not by any means it's amazing actually but not on the level of Half Life 2). I mean seriously one chapter in Half Life 2 has more enviromental detail and interaction than most of Halo 2, and Half Life 2's chapters always have some type of story to tell purely by enviroment, and the atmosphere in them is SO GOOD. Like i could just stand and stare at some of them and just relax.

Welp, This dude made a mistake making this "contriversal video." The half-life and halo are judged poorly here. Especially Half Life, taking about its "weapon system," "NPC relations," "gameplay," and "fanservice." Which is a big mistake. Comparing two giants needs responsibility. Like, dude, you're talking about two entire communities and playstyles! I won't talk about Halo 2 due to my lack of knowledge on that (at least what I think). Fanservice: This was the most rude and weird part. Everything in Half Life 2 has a reason; it's not fan service. Everyone knows Freeman by his crowbar. Everyone in Blackmesa saw him with it. The Xen life and humans. Gman quotes, "There was a time they cared nothing for Miss Vance. When their only experience of humanity was a crowbar, coming at them down a steel corridor.". You need to understand the crowbar's staple. The Lamda logo that Freeman wore in his suit was the symbol of freedom. Humans relate to things; that's how the brain works. And you are talking about Barney like you do not know him. Dude Barney had a separate game. We know that he was a person who was with Gordon, who used to race the vents with him. Same as the others. This is not a fan service. There are a lot of parts that I am sparing due to time. Weapon system: HALF LIFE WAR IS NOT A FACE-TO-FACE WAR, BUT A GUERILLA WARFARE! Which makes the most sense. Combine is a powerful force! They destroyed humanity in just 7 hours! It is expected to feature GUERILLA WARFARE! And rebels can't just make weapons. That had to be makeshift stuff. Even their kevlar is re-used CP kevlar. The weapons make sense and have their respected uses. Dude! When we see a barncal, we use the pistol; we do not use SMG or waste bullets. It's the art. Remember half of life's rule: "Run, think, shoot, and live." You need to think about what to use. That's the fact. We use SMG when we do not have AR2 Ammo. We use AR2 when we do not have SMG Ammo. The world is more complex than just "UMMM, THE WEAPONS DONT LOOK COOL ENOUGH." I hate the two-weapon system, btw. This shows the developers' laziness. Half-life's weapons have their respected uses, as I told you earlier. 2 Weapons is for a game that only loves combat, not story, emotion, or art. Half-life is a game of art. NPC FRIENDSHIP: People always think of Gordon Freeman like that. They say he has no character, but you need to look into the game. This game is more complex than Halo. The story is deep and can keep you interested. You are not fighting for fun; you want to finish this fight, this war. You had only one objective. Kill that prick who caused all the problems. You see the deaths and crying of people. You realize this world needs you, and you know that. You can see the difference when you destroy Nova Prospekt. You realize that they value freedom. They always want to join you and talk to you. Remind them to reload, and they want to help. You need to understand this world. You can't look outside and say, "UHHH, THIS GAME IS A FANSERVICE." I LOVE THE GAME WITH COOL WEAPONS AND SUIT" (not halo, btw). Halo also has that, but not as deep as half-life. It is the closest reality. It shows the world's impact. It affects you on an emotional level. Overall: THIS WAS A BIG MISTAKE MAKING THIS VIDEO BUDDY. Halo fans, Tell us half-life fans about your game in the reply box! I would love to know about Halo. We half-life fans love and respect everyone! Can I see a big ass paragraph like this??

Half Life 2 is ball cider and its rabid fans are severely mentally challenged. Its the only game in existence Ive played that dropped on the 2nd playthrough halfway through. I got through fucking Sly 3 further on playthrough 2 than Half Life 2. Half Life 2 is horribly linear and slow. Enemies are retarded, weapons have no impact save for shooting shit with the gravity gun, and the 2nd DLC Episode felt like a actual game compared to the Main Entry. Halo 2 has intelligent enemy A.I. (friendly is dumbshit obviously so it doesnt make the game a cakewalk) Replayability with hidden skulls, shitton of different weapons and vehicles, addicting multiplayer, and the OST feels professionally composed to the garageband trash in Half Life 2. And no the weapon limit wasnt due to memory limitations. Bungie felt that every weapon was balanced for any encounter some more than others, and digging through a magical trunk of weapons would slow the gameplay to a crawl thats why swapping weapons on the fly was implmented.

I won't even consider the multiplayer. Halo. I'd choose Halo 2 and even Halo CE over HL2. HL2, though a great game, doesn't have replay value. Story was meh. Enemies and shooting were relatively ass. In retrospective it was more gimmicks than story or gameplay. Halo 2 had amazing story, characters (especially the arbiter), gunplay, vehicle sections, dialogue, music. Some of the arbitrr's levels were a weak point though, as they could feel a bit dragged. But that's a minor complaint. The overall feel of the original Halo trilogy to me is unmatched compared to any other game.

WeApOn LiMiTs FoRcE yOu To InTeRaCt WiTh ThE sAnDbOx. No they don't. They limit your sandbox. It gives you fewer options to play with. If HL2 only had 2 weapons, I couldn't shoot dude X with the crossbow from 300 feet because, oh, I can only carry two weapons. I can't even imagine how shitty most of my favorite FPS games would be if they had the outrageous limitations that Halo artificially saddles the player with. Your logic "it limits what can be designed by the developers" basically says "play the game our way or don't play it at all" Your point about using the RPG to run over the "prophet of City 17" guards doesn't hold water because the RPG max ammo is only 3 rockets, and only does 100 damage anyway. And how you gonna say Doom Eternal has the same situation as Halo 2 when you can literally use the chainsaw at any point to fill the ammo of every single weapon except the BFG? lmfao

Been a PC player most of my life, my choice for the better game is easily Halo 2. Before watching the video these are my reasons for thinking that. Half-Life 2 feels like an extended tech demo and the gun play felt dated even back in 2004. Halo 2 in comparison has gun play that feels fine for modern players with the only missing piece being an ADS system (Halo plays better without that though IMO) and then you have the story that actually feels like a continuation from the first game along with superior vehicle gameplay, far more engaging story, more interesting visuals and much better multiplayer. Overall it was and still is a better package on its own than Half-Life 2 on its own. I am quite biased towards Halo though, the years of playing and moding Halo Custom Edition on PC has a lot to do with it. That and my massive love for Halo 3. As ground breaking as the Source engine was, the moding tools left a lot to be desired for me. The Hammer tool in particular is quite possibly the biggest POS modding tool I have ever had the displeasure of using, If you ever wondered why majority of community made maps for the Source engine look ridiculously simple and or low quality, that tool is why... Every modifiable Halo game allows you to make a high quality map in a proper 3D modelling program, the source engine does not.
