Truly. I remember in one of his videos, it was marines versus the flood. The marines were doing quite well. Only some casualties while the flood was crippled. Then the infection forms came. It was absolutely brutal. What was supposed to be an easy victory turned into blood bath in a matter of moments. That's pretty much what would happen in a real zombie apocalypse. Hollywood is bullcrap.

Yeah, according to Halo Lore, the flood attacks the brain first and forces the body to kill itself. After the body has died and the connection between the head and the body has been severed by snapping the neck, the flood infection form connects its tendrils (those coral looking tentacle things) to the severed spine, lops the head aside, and acts as the brain for the newly formed infected victim. Do you want to know what the worst way to die is?

The fact that flood could convert enemies during gameplay was seriously underplayed. If they did it too much, yeah, it would lose its effect, but just think if there was another Rally Point added to the last level of Halo 3 where an army of Sangheili, Marines, and ODSTs took on the Brutes trying to escape, just to have the flood completely overtake them all, and you have to fight them. That would be way scarier than the damn dispersal pods.

In the last actual fight against the Covenant, you get to watch as all the Brutes you take down turn into combat forms, knowing full well that once this was over, you had to fight all of them. So you had a choice to make: are you good enough to knock off all these brutes so they can't fight you later, or will you make things easier by letting them become combat forms?

Flood was there in Halo 4. It introduced a new flood form called Spartan flood form and it's shown in Spartan ops game. But there is no flood in halo 5. those remaining flood on Spirit of Fire is now destroyed

When you see this and then remembered that in halo 1 canon a SINGLE MARINE was able to hold off the flood ON HIS OWN for 2 hours whilst seperated from his squad. And then you also remember that members of alpha squad (the squad that was locked in the room with keyes, Johnson, and Jenkins) also made it out of that room. Don't even get me started on how a bunch even survived the flood until chief showed up. Funny enough, the marine that first talks to chief when he gets out of that last elevator back by the entrance was the same one who keyes lost contact with before they started getting swarmed in that locked room. Let's not even begin to talk about how a 78 year old man did better against the flood than just about everyone else that went combined because of a fried nervous system courtesy of a plasma nade over 20+ years prior.

Imagine how terrifying it would be for a very large creature or creatures to jump onto your body, stab into your flesh, and then begin to assimilate your flesh and bone into energy to destroy more flesh and bone. Then it would infect your brain, steal the information it holds, then break it down. Now imagine how stupid you would sound when it begins to infect your brain, your speech would slur, and your nerves would fry, it would sound something like this "OWW-AWehuFuefffeeeehhhhhHuuuueu."

I love how the voice acting and AI in this game melds so well against the Flood. All of the different AI's reactions conveyed the same level of fear and desperation when first sighting the Parasite, especially the very subtle but blood curdling desperate request that the Sangheili was able to spurt out at the end near 4:47, garbled and distorted "Please shoot me", as he knew his body will be used against his brothers after his last moments being taken. Stuff like that is what the newer Halos' seem to lack, ambient dialogue and subtle details that hold so much power and emotion in game. Although there are some things I do enjoy about HW2 and H4-5, some of the ideas like Warzone and the return of Firefight, as well as the episodic Spartan Ops, there just isn't the same quality of good execution and excellent detail for these ideas; yet I still believe that will all come with 343i in due time EDIT: AAAAANYWAYS Great video GameCheat, would love to see more Flood scenario based videos lol

Also I noticed that if at least one Combat form is alive, the Infection Forms back off (probably to avoid killing Combat Forms with their AOE explode), so because Chips kept on killing the infection forms in the Combat Forms and not destroying the bodies, there would always be a Combat form, causing the infection forms to leave him alone for a while.

Potater Gater infection forms aren't really meant to be in the combat, merely to "cleanup" afterwards by infecting the bodies of their enemies.

I love that the infection forms actually wait for the attack forms to kill something before moving in to infect unless there are no attack forms, you can see this AI style the most in the Marine fight at 5:48 Bungie and splash damage really knew how to make their enemy AI infinitely more interesting.

The Flood by a huge amount, it would only be a matter of days until the entire Earth was infected. You saw how quickly they overwhelmed trained military personnel in this video and how they defeated The Forerunners, the 2nd most advanced species to ever live. Humanity would only have one possible chance at prevailing, but its very unlikely. If the source of The Flood infestation was similar to how the Flood arrived on Earth in Halo 3, then humanity could beat it by immediately using nuclear weapons to sterilize the site, but as I said, this is unlikely for a few reasons. 1. Humanity wouldn’t be able to realize just how much of a threat The Flood was until it was too late for such weapons to be effective. 2. The ship or source would have to be in a relatively uninhabited area, as if it was a populated one then most countries wouldn’t resort to using nuclear weapons, until as I said previously, it was too late. In addition, an outbreak in a populated area would spread much more quickly due to the large amount of potential hosts to infect. 3. If the source was a country that didn’t have access to nuclear weapons, then it would take to long for them to contact other countries for help (if they would help) for nuclear weapons to be effective. In addition, I don’t think any country wants to purposely nuke their land. So yeah, Flood dominate modern humanity, case closed.
