BigMad max I seriously doubt the AI uses grenades for "redirection" It'd be more likely they are coded to use grenades just as a means to force enemies out of cover, but definitely not to SPECIFICALLY direct them in a direction to have a better angle.

Darkcrusader77 well a book says that chief needed to hide in the water for a short period of time without dying, so it proves that in the lore, Spartans do survive in the water, maybe not forever, but for a while.

ThatsMeLiki Rus yes true but it also depends on what armor he had on and what modifications it had. Remember in Reach you could put on parts to make not only survive in water but also different types of combat purposes, flying for an example, or close courters combat, etc. So I have a theory about that. They gave Master Chief different parts in his suit, which is prevalent in the beginning. Remember Chief getting lectured about the armour he fried in the beginning of Halo 2? Well he was given prototypes and he used them in the utmost harsh environments.

To Summerize: -Both the MC and the Arbiter usually live due to tactical planning, rather than running and gunning (though the Arbiter survived with a carbine and the MC with dual magnums). -In individual weapon matches, the Spartans would usually win... -However, in an actual battle, the Elites win half the time.

lxjoe96 not even close to equal. If the spartan lasers were on high ground like the fuel rods were then yeah.. equal, why not (still not even close). They take time to charge up and the spartans stayed still most of the time whilst charging, and had to stop if a teammate got in the way, which happened a lot because they were all on the same level and at the back meaning it was impossible to get a shot off before the fuel rods at the top back of the elites could just fire over and kill half of the spartans....

Haven't done my "couple of comments" in a while, so here goes nothing: 1. Great battle! It actually felt evenly matched (although that's likely because they are basically the same in this game, lol)! :D 2. My favorite moments have to be when Arbiter killed all the Spartans with the grenade and that drunk rocket at 2:24. xD 3. Please do some Halo 2 _exclusive_ battles! Of course there is some exaggeration in saying that it'd take 5 seconds, but a company of Spartan lls would have little to no trouble taking on an equal number of Sanghelli. If you'd read Fall of reach you'd recall Halsey mentioning that even with a trained eye, when she first observed the training exercise wherein the spartan's had integrated the MJOLNIR armour into their arsenal that they were no more than a blur to her. She even emphasised that they seemed to meld to the shadows, which is why I agree that there likely would be little to no visible Spartan activity in an op taking out a platoon of elites, there's more to a spartan's ability than shielding. That is all in a canonical standpoint, if you'd believed that there would be a long drawn out last man standing type battle you'd be the ignorant one. Sorry but perhaps you should delete you're comment before you're criticized for being a hypocrite.

Elites in halo 3 are fine they just don't have many in game ranks like the other games. In halo 3 is only a total of 4 elite ranks that actually fight spec ops, minor, major, and arbiter
