Just keeping this here for future reference. It's my most modern clip of me doing well on gyro thus far to help combat nay sayers.

To combat gyro naysayers, with the recent release of the Joycon support for Steam, I decided to try and play L4d2 gyro only, like a Wii shooter. No flickstick or anlog stick, pure, motion. And it was, far superior to controller, I say that as some who played hundreds upon hundred of L4D 1&2 on xbox until getting it on pc about 2 years ago. Not even any competition. If I ever meet anyone who tells me gyro isn't that impressive, I plan on sending a video of it, I actually have it uploaded but unlisted lol. I did far better than I expected to do and it reinforced my beleif on gyro.

@@tekgeekster yeah the shakiness is a lot worse, I rarely have shakey aim on gyro even at High sens but even after adjusting, still quite a bit there on joycons. I also played on an extremely high sens but its what I'm used to, in the beginning 10 mins its a lot more shakey compared to the last of it, I'll actually unlist the video right now so you can see, but theres a huge difference toward the end and the final clip. first few clips are the first 10 mins, where the last clip is just the last 10 mins of a run. theres a huge difference in it and thats me adjusting. Making flicks, smooth tracking and minute movements, on high sens, 1 handed. Still a huge upgrade over anlog lol.

@@tekgeekster I was actually resting them on my leg, the Joycons themselves seem to have very good connection so they work under my desk, where as on switch, if there was even a small bottle of jucie in front of the switch, the joycons would disconnect constantly even right in front of the switch. It appears that the joycons have good Bluetooth connection but the switch has really weak Bluetooth itself for them, not liking any sort of interference, hell even slightly below my desk but is still in plain view of the switch was enough to make it act up. Also I tried lower sens and for me personally, didnt feel right for a game like L4D. But after I adjusted the shakeyness wasn't really an issue, just slightly there and noticble when not much action was going on.

@@tekgeekster pretty much, I'm able to pick up on controls really well and quickly, by 20 mins of learning gyro the very first time I basically got most of it down 2 years back. Adapting to shakiness wasnt much of an ask for me personally. I don't have the most stable hands but I have a quick tendency to pick up and notice on how things work and control in video games. I'd prefer 2 handed controllers still, but for something like Wii emulation, not a bad option (although buy a Wii controller for cheap alongside a adapter for PC, it's much easier and better lol)

@@tekgeekster well, not really, I think its more of mindset over anything. So in short, a few years ago I went on a Dmc binge and decided to learn how to do claw and so on and get better at inputs for advanced mechanics. It kinda changed a lot of my gaming habits and how I approached game with their mechanics and how I controlled games. I then moved to Apex Legends, bringing along my claw habits and learning how to do advanced movement on a controller while learning the deeper parts of the game. Then I moved onto Speed runners, a 2d racing game about speed running based off speed running mechanics from games like slope boosting from Quake, or Momentum boosts and so on. learned how to play that game on a much deeper level. Then as I played more shooters, and action games, bringing along those new habits, I kinda developed a tendency to just, learn how a game works, all the mechanics and how to interact with said mechanics. I put alot of mental focus on learning games now, so when I moved to learning gyro, it just sorta clicked and began pushing it more and more very quickly due to those habits. I also learned how to handle stuff like mobile shooters and their controls, getting really good at it, now I'm interested in learning how to play shooters with a drawing tablet or a track ball, I'm a nerd for how to play video games even in unconventional ways for the average gamer and seeing how good I can get. Its just fun to me, and more of a challenge to myself.

Is there a petition to sign to force Xbox/Microsoft to make a modern controller that has gyro and back buttons? That would greatly help.

@@tekgeekster 🤣 Oh I will bitch, complain, and wine like no other until Microsoft has had it. For the meantime is Armor-x pro legitimate for all Xbox games that allows players to use gyro? Such as battlefield v which is my daily addictive drug and PUBG? I’m planning on getting one for my Xbox series S.

How is your aim this shaky? Mine isn't that shaky when using gyro, quite a lot more stable.

@@tekgeekster Me neither, I don't use any of that and yet my aim is very stable, I'm not saying this because I want to say I'm better than you or whatever I'm just genuinely curious of what the factor could be since my aim is almost as steady as a mouse. Also, what is RWS?

@@tekgeekster Like this? I turned it 90° twice in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpqUpYKlareAgrM As you can see my aim isn't as shaky when tracking/turning with the gyro, maybe it's because I'm using the touchpad touch to disable/enable gyro and bumpers to shoot? (analog triggers have too much recoil, bumpers are better)

@@tekgeekster Shame, I was curious on what caused it, I actually wanted to know if I could give you a tip on how to stabilize but you already seem to do what I do, unless I'm missing something.
