What's up guys and welcome back everyone to another Halo 4 Campaign mod showcase! In this video, we check out a Halo 4 mod that aims to improve the original campaign using exclusively what is shipped with the game without relying on assets from the previous games, as a sort of director's cut. Halo 4 Genesong Cut is a mod that aims to improve the original campaign using exclusively what is shipped with the game without relying on assets from the previous games, as a sort of director's cut. If you were looking for a classic or Bungie styled campaign, sadly this mod is not for you.
REQUIREMENTS:
The mod has been made using only the tags shipped with the tools. You don't need to download additional files, but be sure to disable campaign customizations
CHANGES AND FEATURES:
Global:
-Increased texture resolution and improved shaders where possible
-Added a proper transition from the old to the new Mjolnir armor
-Simplified and modernized HUD
-Sounds have been swapped and mixed to create a more pleasant experience
-Reimplemented cut lines and removed some confusing ones
Weapons:
-DMR has been entirely removed. On the other hand, two new weapons have been adeed: the Plasma Launcher and the Bishop Beam
-Promethean weapons have been overhauled to be in line with Halo 5, and they now use the Halo Infinite ammo system
-Incresead reserve ammo and reduced battery consumption for certain weapons
-Increased grenade explosion radius
AIs:
-Characters are in general more responsive and act like in Combat Evolved
-Covenant now have more distint ranks with better armor and fixed anatomy
-Prometheans have been completely revamped to fix their annoying behavior while still being interesting to fight
-Promethean Soldiers and Major Watchers have been implemented
Vehicles:
-The cut Revenant has been restored
-All vehicles now have healthbars
-Mantis now has a Hannibal Gauss turret instead of a standard Machine gun
And many, many more...
KNOWN ISSUES
-Due to how Halo 4 handles its sounds, some audio files can become suddenly lower
-The modified Didact model broke the motion capture. That's because the current tools don't support face maps. SOI_7 will fix this once the tools will be updated
-Forerunner turrets in the Pelican section in Shutdown can occasionally freeze
-Since the Elite animation tags make the tools crash, SOI_7 couldn't give them proper animations for the Revenant, and SOI_7 has been forced to recycle existing seats. Because of that, their animations don't match the actual model. This applies to spartans and marines as well

Sticky Detonator like in the reveal trailer, Storm Rifle and Beam Rifle that look like the Bungie Plasma Rifle and Beam Rifle, Chief in the original Mark VI. Some great choices in the mod here.

The classic styled Mk. VI will only apply to the first half of the mod. The latter half would switch to the standard Halo 4 armors but with a golden visor. There's even a cutscene for the switch, neat.

I love that the frigate’s hull exterior actually looks like how the Dawn looked in Halo 3

I love how the sticky detonator’s melee animation is a back hand. Chief really said “watch your tone MF”

I like it but why no using the model for dawn that aready existed? The one from H3 i mean, Dawn was a Charon and this looks like a Stalwart class

Where is the command deck during the intros exterior scene? It's just flat and missing the bridge entirely
