Here's all the early pre-release cutscenes from the June 2011 build of Halo CE Anniversary. A lot of the cutscenes are unfinished but some do show a lot of cut alternate content such as character models and animations.

15:59 NGL, the camera angle changes do work. They’re not as dramatic as the original camera angles but they do work well. Especially the way he backs up into the room as the door closes

Maybe it’s just because I haven’t played CEA in so long and I can’t remember correctly, but the lighting in a lot of these cutscenes looks a lot more consistent with classic CE. It hides some of the overdesigning this remaster is infamous for, and the gloomier atmosphere just fits the game better in pretty much all but Halo and Silent Cartographer.

Good observation, but I believe this is because that when CEA was ported to MCC the graphics got messed up similarly to OG Halo CE and 2, why has a video about the lighting differences between the two versions

@@yethecollegedropout no there was no graphical issues in the MCC port. there was a graphical issue in the 2003 gearbox port to PC. That issue has been fixed in MCC Alhamdulillah. I believe the lighting was dropped in the final version of anniversary is because of the limitations of the 360 May Allah (S.W.T.) guide you and bestow upon you His Blessings; Ameen.

@@yethecollegedropout umm…source? I have been following CE related bugs for several years now, ever since LateNightGaming made his infamous video about it. Then with each MCC update Generilkid did a great job making videos discussing the issues that were fixed and where and when they originated. I do not recall a single instance of major graphical issues with the anniversary graphics in the MCC port. In fact, you can easily insert the original Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary disc in the 360 and compare the graphics between that and MCC (both the latest version and the original 2014 launch version), you’ll notice that the anniversary graphics literally look the same. (The classic graphics is fixed in latest MCC builds and broken in CEA (360) and MCC (2014)) So the burden of proof is on you, sir. I need you to give me specific example of any issues related to the graphics. It can be a support article, KZbin video, blog post, literally anything that documents the issue. Until I can have an example I can look at-I maintain my original stance- that the lighting in this preview build was intentionally removed in HCEA retail and, thus, could not have been “broken” during the port to MCC! May Allah (S.W.T.) guide you and bestow upon you His Blessings; Ameen.

@chavzone Thing is, Halo 3 has a bit of that plastic look, but it still manages to maintain the glass walkway. Halo CE Anniversary had a great opportunity to line up the visuals of the Control Room structure and surrounding chasm more with how it appears in Halo 3 to improve continuity between the games, but they didn't even try! They did this instead!

The animation they had after Chief watched Jenkin's recording makes his body language more expensive, especially the way he gets up and starts storming off weapon in hand, not just afraid, but ANGRY at this new foe that just killed his fellow brothers in arms.

i really love the somber music during the longsword escape scene from halo, same with the glitched cutscenes video with HCEA, the somber music really sets the mood this wasnt a huge victory, as much as a huge massacre of the PoA crew. Chief pulled it off in the end, but many many people died in the end. i get why they went with the normal halo theme at the end as a sign of victory, but seeing it like this hits differently lol

Actually that's a bug in the game. Seemed to have started with CEA. The drone music from the bridge cafeteria area doesn't go away if you go though sometimes.

They used Gearbox PC port which was made on unfinished Xbox build which was reason why so many things were broken in PC port and classic graphics in MCC so yeah.

Keyes wearing armor here like in the original is cool and I can't understand why they reverted it to the navy uniform in the final version. Also the Marine armor in general looks a little more interesting here. Still shocked that they just decided not to use the actual Marine armor design from the end of Reach at all with the matching brown drab color.

Holy crap the Cortana mocap is fucking terrible, the actor only seems to be able to emote with her arms. Chief (and many other examples in media) show how important it is to use your whole body to make the feeling you are trying to convey hit harder or at all. And not in a way that’s over the top where you have to move everything at once, but like look at all of Chiefs head tilts, the way his stances change and how much more effective he uses arm movement than the Cortana mocap

Oh yeah, the way chief gets up after watching Jenkins' helmet-cam and starts stomping towards the danger is the best expression of emotional body language I've seen. You can just tell that internally, he's outraged and angry at this new foe for killing his fellow soldiers, while simultaneously know that the Flood is not something you can just disregard, and needs to be given first attention.

Ew this was awful, Cortana’s Trump gestures and arm waving 😢. Every last animation here is to be scrapped. It’s like you just put no cap using way too much lazy capture and putting on there. I think it would have been funny to see them zoom in on the hand shake; where as Joe Staten had a horrible time lining the hand shake together back in halo 1 era of Bungie. . I felt that camera angle here was a big funny middle finger to Joe 😂 even funnier, this handshake sucked over the halo 1 counter
