Also, I'd be concerned about chief's health given how much energy drink he consumed, but alas, he's a spartan and lore wise these require extra sustenance I think.

I did the same! I kept accidentally skipping triggers! I havent figured out how to 3rd person camera... BUT YOU CAN POSSESS SENTINELS! You have to either land on them long enough for the bump mechanic to trigger (about a second) or you have to walk into them when they are flying low. Their sentinel beam does little damage though. Although it is possible to find a sentinle beam lying on the ground. In this level theres a rock spire with a tall room inside - and dead elites (right after you come out from underground with the scorpion when you play this level the first time) If you skip certain triggers so there are no enemies and enter that room theres nothing on the floor but dead elites and a prompt to pick something up. If you pick up that invisible something its a sentinile beam - but you cant put it back down again. I was on legendary as well.

Its that room on THIS level. On this level youll see the same room with the dead elites before you hit that massive tunnel that goea underground. I think what happens is skipping the trigger doesnt cause the enemies to spawn, but a sentinle was suppose to. Instead theres a promp to pick up something on the ground - thats the sentinle beam that spawned without its sentinle carrier because you missed the trigger.

You can also drive those Wraiths which you couldnt in normal xbox halo CE. Killing the enemy inside without killing the wraith just opens the hatch. You can also drive any wraith you spawn with the D20

The trigger at “The Final Run” that gave you so much trouble isn’t a ground trigger at all. The trigger for the last pulse generator only activates when enough enemies die in that large chasm (the one below the first bridge from AotCR). That might be why you were getting stuck
