I tried the scorpion approach at first but couldn't maneuver it well in the battle, then I tried the laserback tactic but my marines all died, ended up using dropshield, thrusters, disrupter and br variant to kill them. Was fun. Also, don't sleep on the fully upgraded recon utility. Being able to see their health helps alot

I just entered with a Scorpion and kept my distance, basically using it as artillery to pick off the higher damage targets. Then I focused down the Hunters, my Scorpion barely managed to scrape through the fight.

When i was a DS (or directing staff) i used to train my troops on section and platoon attacks heres my assessment on one point i really liked. Then I loved when after the vehicle became disabled in the lake, you realised the shield that you deployed (usualy a smoke grenade that provides soft cover not hard cover) that was covering your marines from hunter suppressive, enemy fire. Was about to fail due to the time out, like a good frontline section/platoon commander you moved back to remove yourself from the heat of the battle to make a quick RECCE of the ground and found a great flanking and position to the left behind some decent hard cover for your section to fire from (most underlooked moment i think). Obviously the marines fought valiantly and eventually were KIA, credit to the commander giving them the best opportunity for survival though.

To be honest i think the developers should design halo esque smoke grenades and have the algorithm treat the Ai as under clocking or somthing, now that they have the open world, strategies from using smokes are endless, cover from sniper fire, cover to flank, reveal cloaked enemies, make enemy flyers difficult to engage and force a zugzwang (chess definition). discover wind direction for long range snipes and at some points in the developers know this because some side marine rescues we see marine have deployed smokes as a use to signal for help.

Razorback loaded with trackers, just circle....it'll be over quickly. Looks like you upgraded quickly as well, the drop shield with the added shock as you shoot through is dope.

Yeh I wanted to have a longer more epic fight, I did have a full razor back with sentinels for when I took down Bilbao (video on the channel) but I love these epic battles and it was cheesy but alot of fun

On heroic I was just trying to gear up my new squad of marines at a FOB then all of a sudden Cortana tells me that Myriad was killed. My only guesses was that my game glitched or my last group of marines after I fast travelled away somehow managed to kill the hunters on their own. I really wanted to fight them on a Razorback with highly armed marines.

It's natural to see Halo evolve in this direction. I played the game but never imagined this. Imagine that you have a small carrier of operations where you send in yourself in an insertion pod. This carrier could supply weapon pods, vehicles and troops on demand. We are so near for this to happen.

Easiest tactic for legendary for all bases / mini bosses etc is a Razorback full of x2 rockets and x3 sniper marines (or x2 snipers, x1 skewer) - actually make a joke of everything in the game. Just play max range and the marines mop up everything. When I did this fight, they killed the 2 hunters from like 200 yards away (too far away for them to use the rapid fire cannon ability).

Wrong i used a scarab for most and that was the easiest. After you get the sentinel beam variant you use a razor back with only that and one shot all bosses left.

Easy way to defeat myriad is park a wasp nearby, BR or snipe all the snipers and people that have weapons with very high velocity, then get back into the wasp and just rain rockets and bullets while dodging the red plasma shots

@Alex Luca Also I heard that the needler was decent against Hunters. I tried it on a green pair on Normal. Takes a lot of ammo if you only use needler, but it's a great choice if you've run out of heavier things to throw at them.

Heres a secret: Unlock the sniper and mount 5 marines with snipers on a razorback You can beat the entire open world portion of this game with minimal effort 😂 Of course you have to unlock the sniper to do this and that *WILL* take some fucking effort

Not on legendary it seems, havent played on any other difficulty yet, these hunters are formidable opponents even when they're not HVT, regular encounters with hunters feel like mini boss fights on their own

I didn't watch any video about killing a hunter before I finish my first playthrough, died countless time fighting two hunter, I thought they only take damage when get shot on the back so I keep trying to get around them while they keep bashing their shield on my head, it was so hard I even start to consider if its actually possible to kill them when they spotted you.

By the time I fought the Myriad Hunters, I already had broken loadouts such as the Arcane Sentinel Beam and the Volatile Skewer. I probably had like 3 beams and 2 skewers
