I don't think being tired is a valid argument either, seeing as he does the rest of Halo 2 with his only rest being strung up by Gravemind tentacles for a few minutes. Caught off guard, certainly, but it's still a valid example of a time where he would have died at the hands of a Brute if not for the intervention of Gravemind.

There was initial concept art for Infinite that had Lasky with a robotic leg, so I think we can assume he’ll be back in a DLC or future content. He is too big of a character to kill off in audio logs.

I just missed the established world and it felt really odd not knowing where the rest of humanity really is besides the pilot saying “we lost”. I just wished the campaign was longer, I WANT MORE.

Lasky is most likely alive and the transmission being cut off more so makes me think that communications were being jammed, Locke i can see him surviving based on his training and the armour thing just being a trophy but the rest being damaged who knows, Locke has potential as a side character, Blue is def still alive as Spartan 2's (more so John's squad) are complete badasses and i doubt they'd go down easy, they're probably somewhere on the ring or assisting Lasky

I can definitely see a dlc as Locke and the goal is to assist Lasky in an effort to do something to either help rebuild the UNSC elsewhere away from Chief or to sabotage the Banished heavily. Locke would obviously not have his armor or find new armor and would be a sort of spiritual reboot for his character as well to go along with the rest of the series reboot. I think the only returning character I can see dying off-screen is Palmer. Halsey is too important and sly, Lasky is the only truly likable character from the last couple games, blue team has some of the most potential for lore as always, every other character was either explained to be alive as far as we know. I could also see Osiris dying off-screen although I would personally be disappointed as they should at least try to build them up. And by Osiris I mean Vale and Tanaka

Yeah, you can have strong supporting characters and still make the game primarily about Chief. I felt alone in Infinite, and would’ve loved some sort of military personnel with me. The pilot is getting love from everyone, but I thought he was meh. The weapon was a good. But needed more. I also feel like I accomplished nothing that big in halo infinite aside from killing the banished bad guys. There were no real stakes, since the endless get released by Atriox at the end anyway

@@SniperHawk57 THANK YOU. I feel the exact same way... we went to a couple towers and defeated some great big bad threat (Harbinger) but we don't even know why she was a threat. Why didn't we start off in the Infinity and then we get attacked while we're training or whatever and then we get introduced to Atriox through GAMEPLAY... he absolutely murders anyone we're with than throttles chief into orbit? Instead we get a hands off cutscene showing nothing we care about other than Chief getting slapped... 🤦‍♂️ why don't we find any old characters on the ring? Rescue them... then they join our "group"? WHY?

I get that they want to hide "the endless" in the mystery, but that's just not scary since we literally know fuck all about them. The covenant, flood, forerunners, all posed threats to us. The banished were just the stereotypical bad guys. Didn't come close the threat of the prophets/covenant in the original trilogy. The banished were just a boring covenant faction with health bars. And as for your point about starting in the infinity, I agree. I didn't like that I had to listen to what happened to Lasky and co. through the audio logs. What a fuckin buzzkill. Only thing 343 accomplished was setting themselves up to profit off future DLC.

One thing i forgot was Atriox... so disappointing that he made no appearance in this game except for BARELY 2 minutes of cutscenes, placed at the very start and very end of the game. Atriox has a lot of potential and could make things very interesting moving forward. As for the DLC - it better be a fucking banger of a story DLC, none of that stupid spartan ops "mini campaign" shit. I think 343 basically has to deliver another FULL campaign. And it better have the fuckin Arbiter or I swear to god

I genuinely believe and hope that 343i ACTUALLY adds splintered dlcs AND maybe have a Spartan story spin off that could be introduced with the whole academy section!! That would be an amazing way to continue the halo story and add more content for fans from all these years! I personally would like a spin off story added to halo infinite that includes our Spartan and there we find the rest of what happened with the infinity and her crew, sort of like Spartan ops in halo 4. This is exactly what I would want. Centering on MC makes a ton of sense for this initial campaign, but as the game matures, I would love to see a "Next-gen" Spartan Ops, where 343i Learns from their past mistakes. You have a lot of cool material you can write around with Argyle training the next gen Spartans completely off the grid. Also there could be a really cool L4D style 4 player coop campaign based around Spartans we know are on the ring. Imagine Commander Palmer and a contingent of the UNSC landed on a flood infected portion of the ring, and you have to fight as a squad together to find evac back to chief. Haven't worked out all the logistics, but I think it would be cool to put say a Tanaka or Vale on the team as well as Jun (everybody drinks) and maybe Tom-B292 to round out the squad. I don't think the problem with Halo 5 was the departure from standard series structure, but I instead think the problem was departing so drastically in a core numbered entry. If Halo 5 was simply titled "Halo: Guardians" and the Chief aspect was scrubbed entirely (as well as some MAJOR plot changes, looking at you Cortana) I think we would all be asking "When is Guardians 2 coming?!?!"

When Lasky says "The Infinity has been compromised" and you hear nothing about infinity ever again or what happened to it during the campaign (Besides Escharum talking about how long it took them to "Take down" Infinity) makes me think the Banished are going to end up turning Infinity into their own ship. What would be the point of destroying it when u could just retro fit it and make it your own. I could be overthinking stuff or i missed some dialogue but i am curious to see what happens to Infinity. And the thought of a Banished version of Infinity sounds so badass lol.

If you go to Outpost Tremonius, there is the wreckage of a UNSC frigate. I'm assuming that's the Infinity. My hope is that the campaign map evolves as new content comes out, and one day the Infinity will fly again.

@@lambda9559 the wrecked ship outside Outpost Tremonious is the Mortal Reverie. This is where UNSC forces first took refuge after landing on the ring. The Infinity is probably too badly mangled to be salvaged in working order. Rammed by multiple ships that sheered through the armour and structure of the vessel, she is probably a broken shell of her former glory

about the arbiter part i really hope they take the shot to create story, where the arbiter returns from the sangheili civil war and won the battle on his home planet, coming to help the UNSC with elite armies to fight the banished/flood, sort of sword of sangheilios expanded , like a covenant but with the honorable side of the warrior elites we would have an elite like covenant vs a brute like covenant scenario that would be a great gateway to make elite playable in multiplayer if Halo infinite comes to a certain point other then that for campaign we could summon covenant vehicles/weapons in sword of sangheilios FOB's

As far I know form the lore San’ Helios the Elite planet is still having issues. I believe that the Banished will try to make a move on it such that the covenant did as it is a strategic objective. Arbiter is busy with that and hopefully we will get to have an Arbiter story. It would be nice to have MC and Arbiter put into a flood ship and the 2 say to each other MC: Like old times Arbiter: Indeed, brings back memories

The civil war was over in halo 5 in the book realised earlier in the year they are celebrating the victory. by this time in halo infinite the arbiter should of been strong enough to send his flag ship(Ascendant Justice) and his fleet to Zeta halo to assist the unsc in the war efforts against the banished but 343 dropped the ball... so unfortunately there probably wont be a arbiter dlc even though theres easter eggs all of the map

Same here. Hard to imagine the team that saved Master Chief’s team’s asses just disappearing. Locke, Buck, and the team literally had Cortana talking trash to them and persevered to save Chief.

Since we have Infinite for at least 10 years, I'm sure we'll get plenty of content both for Campaign and Multiplayer. Personally, I think that Locke is still alive and with the Grunt saying about Locke's helmet being on Hyperius's shoulder pad, could just mean that he was beaten but not killed, I highly doubt they'd kill such a big character like Locke, off screen, even if he wasn't liked in Halo 5. Blue team are most definitely still alive and would have probably aided Chief, halo 5 style, if they were on the Infinity when it was attacked. Arby, is probably still alive but I doubt he was even involved in the battle over the ring, I believe he may still be on Sanghelios, after all what he planned to do had been completed, he had defeated the Covenant in Halo 5 so perhaps he and the Swords of Sanghelios laid down they're weapons when Cortana took over, however, with the threat of Cortana dealt with and now the Banished seem to be a bigger threat than the Covenant, perhaps Arby will pick up his blade one last time to fight at Chief's side, who knows maybe if that happens, we'll get the flood back too. Also Halsey, I'm curious as to where she could be, probably with Blue team as I would expect her to be with Laskey when he was evacuated. Then moving on to Laskey, I believe he'll still be alive, whether captured or on another part of the ring, who knows, I doubt they'd kill him off screen as he was pretty liked by the fan base or at least I liked him, he certainly wasn't Sergeant Johnson, but he still managed to fill that role and I think he has more to offer too, showing off his skill in combat dispite being an officer (I know he's a Captain but in Halo 4 he was still an Officer when he took over from Del Rio.) I could go through more but I think I'd be here all day. Personally, I think the main characters or those who were in previous games will still be alive, including Fireteam Osiris. It would be cool if we got a massive event that happened where both Osiris and Blue team join together to fight the Banished or something else.

Everyone’s thoughts on the campaign? I feel as though the whole time I was waiting for past character’s to show up or something along that line. I’m also pretty disappointed that the whole idea of all the guardians and cortona being the main protagonist was basically thrown away rather than being a big set up like it was at the end of halo 5. Would’ve been a very cool thing to explore like the UNSC and all the spartans we've met coming together to fight the thing that was supposed to be their savior. Plus having all the guardians made her the most powerful thing in the universe I don't like the whole idea that she magically lost it all and died off screen.

From what the Shadows Of Reach said it sounds like SOF is still stuck at the Ark. The Banished were at a stalemate with them and decided to leave instead of fight. And Infinity took Reach's comms offline so Anders can't even call for help. SOF can't catch a freaking break.

Definitely agree we should have heard something about the Arbiter, but unlike Lasky and Locke there's not even a tiny worry he's dead or in danger. He's nowhere near the events of the end of 5 or Infinite, and our last update was that his forces were coming out on top in the Sangheili civil war, in which his faction is quite popular not just with Elites but with other former Covenant species, the largest Covenant contingent losing their leader, and UNSC support aiding their effort (admittedly that last point no longer applies lmao). We will absolutely see more of him, I just hope they don't drop the civil war plotline, since that was easily the best part of 5 by far, and the comics referring to it or showing elements of it are really cool too.

I honestly feel like Lasky's audio logs could be used as audio for a cutscene, in a dlc where we see his part of the story, where we don't play as a Spartan OR an odst, but as a regular human captain!! How sick would that be!? Also I know odst's are regular humans but their armor is more advanced than regular marine armor.

We actually haven't seen odst since 3. Helljumper armor could very well be considerably more advanced gear now, mabye more like SPI gear the spartan 3's were initially issued with built in active camo to compensate for lacking energy shielding. But hey at least ODST were confirmed to still exist in the audio logs, look forward to meeting up with them in future expansions as well as being able to have a squad of em with f.o.b requisitions being expanded.

I was under the impression that Palmer was last seen on Reach in one of the books having been trapped there by a guardian when the Infinity had to leave. the palmer conversation may have been significantly before the events of infinite's opening

5:20 One of the dataminers on twitter apparently come across a cut audio transcript for an ending cutscene where the Pilot picks up a UNSC tag, doesn’t believe his eyes, calls Chief over, and it ends with the line “It’s Locke”. Given the ending cutscene this could either be that he was found dead floating in space, chestplate and helmet torn off, or on a section of the ring, helmet and chestplate torn off.

I think we are gonna get arbiter and others soon through DLC, at least I hope. It makes a lot of sense. I think they've made a good frame work here with the banished as a well done kinda generic faction one, how unique they are and how good of a bad guy they represent makes for a good good vs evil dichotomy. But they're also not too compelling, just solid. Great for a generic baddy faction. So than getting more specific stuff on top of that would just be brilliant

HONEST OPINION: when i finished the campaign i felt like i just got started. Like right now the main threat is down and its time to find out where everyone is and take back control over the ring. Rebuilt the unsc infinity and assemble an army. I havent really seen many characters this game other that holograms and some brutes + pilot Pretty sure it doesnt stop here right? There is so much they could talk about that they didnt do. Also havent seen the full power of the banished imo. Like it havent seen insane amounts of banished at one point. Or is that just me?

That Locke figure definitely depicts Locke as seen in Halo: Nightfall. That took place when Locke was still an ONI agent, long before he was a Spartan. The DMR and green forearm piece give it away, as that’s the weapon he carried through the main part of the story in Nightfall, and he wore an green tac-pad type bit on his arm in Nightfall as well. Hence why the figure plate says AGENT Locke and not SPARTAN Locke.

Yup, Halo, and Chief, Always had and needs a supporting cast of characters. OG Halo had such a wide and diverse range of characters. I had no problem with Osiris, or Locke, except for how 5 was written. 343 needs to stop being a pendulum. I don't think the fanbase was upset with new characters, just that Chief was delegated to a minor role. We want to play as the Chief in the main ship title. We want his story, but I'm also cool with getting side stories. A game following Locke as a main character, like ODST, would be sweet. Love expanding the series. Now it seems like 343 is against new characters, and just writes chief, and cliché bad guys for him to kill. That's how halo infinite felt. Echo 216 was okay, but man he got annoying real quick. Dude, your with the Chief, calm down.

I think the Banished just left since they called for backup. SOF put us such a good fight that the Banished didn't see a point in fighting them any longer plus the flood being released from High Charity was good enough reason to abandon the Ark. SOF is probably still stuck there at the Ark and Anders didn't contact the UNSC because Infinity took Reach's comms offline they are probably alive.

It's likely they thought there was no point in continuing since they did but out from the Ark and the Flood was released from High Charity even more reason to just leave. They know SOF can't get away from Ark so leaving them ends up being easier than destroying them.

Theres a few things im hoping either plays out or happens in Halo infinite as it expands. Playing your own spartan (kinda like noble) in the campaign or side missions. The academy stories played alot and were rather immersive about getting them up to speed to help UNSC forces. Jerome-092 and the spirit of fire come and assist fighting the banished or this new threat and the appearance of Anders.

I suspect the Arbiter is back on Sanghelios, which with the Created occupation of Earth, served as the UNSC remnant's main stronghold as part of their alliance with the Swords of Sanghelios. I expect that while Chief and the Infinity departed for Zeta Halo to tackle Cortana, Thel and his forces remained behind to hold down the fort.
