Microsoft formed 343i back in 2007 with the sole intent to continue the franchise after bungie decided they wanted to part ways with MS, even if that meant losing the halo IP. Bungie had an outline of where the franchise would go after Halo 3, which they wound up giving to 343, but had bungie wanted to stay wit the IP, they would’ve released content/games that eventually would’ve introduced the forerunners. THAT is confirmed. So honestly, idk where and how Bonnie would get credit for continuing the franchise when it was never in fear of ending. Bungie planned on its continuation before they decided to part ways with MS & MS only decided to buy the halo IP because there were many stories to tell. Also, ODST & Reach were only made because Bungie was still contractually obligated to make 2 more games after H3. It’s more likely that bungie would’ve used their “forerunner outline” to continue the series after H3 as the next installment if they stayed on making halo games. They only made those 2 other games because they had 2 separate smaller dev teams that worked on them independently while the bulk of their devs moved over to destiny. They wouldn’t have done that & the whole team would’ve started on the next consecutive installment if they wanted to stay, but they didn’t. The point is this… unless there’s a direct quote from Phil Spencer or whoever that has enough power at MS saying Bonnie was responsible, it isn’t true. Even then, it could’ve just been an ass kissing comment designed to blow smoke to make her look good, but I doubt a legit source stating this about Bonnie exists. Basically, a TL;DR of this comment is this… The halo IP was never in doubt in any way and the plans to continue the franchise was always in place, even before ODST & Reach were developed. 343i was created in 2007 with the sole purpose of developing the halo IP after bungie handed over the reigns to them. Bonnie never was this halo saving person since it never required convincing to continue the franchise.

I really think the tipping point was the broken promise of no split screen. That promise was made as a presentation by a Microsoft executive, and she broke it. I believe she got her notice before the “no split screen” announcement went public. @@j.k.1239 It's sad that you couldn't enjoy Halo at it's prime (MCC is still more limited than the OG games by a mile), co-op (split-screen) and forge weren't just good complements back then, they were the main experience. And with Forge, means more maps and game modes made by the community, bungie even got some of those maps and game modes on the main multiplayer matchmaking, and Griffball, Infection or BTB are now main Halo modes, so yeah, you would've loved forge if content is what you are looking for. Good to know that at least that is gonna happen on Infinite... eventually...

Forge is an integral part of the community to create unique gamemodes and maps, the content feeds itself, yet they left it out and delayed its release. The problem with Halo Infinite/343 is that they give us what should be normal or expected in a game or Halo franchise like its a want, instead of a need. (Not the right phrasing, i cldnt think of the word) E.g previously famous features like Forge and gamemodes like Infection. Otherwise, you’re not doing it for the Halo community

I love Halo. I love the lore. I love the world they made. The story of the covenant war. But man 343 have done a shit job. Halo 3 and reach are the best Halos easily. The gunplay in Halo infinite is good, feels like Halo 3 a bit more which is good but the content is nonexistent. Halo 4 was fine... that was it. Halo Infinite had the potential with its build, but that standalone campaign was definitely not worth the $60. And we all know the multiplayer issues from UI, maps, gamemodes etc.

Being a Halo fan for the past 10 years has been so incredibly frustrating. There is no denying that 343 killed Halo with their ineptitude. They are so stupid they didn't even go the Coalition route by making safe, unremarkable games to at least sustain remaining fanbase. No, they came out swinging their dicks around thinking they will reinvent everything and knocked themselves out instead. With the management changes we could potentially see them salvage what remains but when they hire people like Sean Baron who come out saying "Halo has always been a competitive shooter" I lose that hope very quick.

if you remove the pointless online crap, halo infinite is easily the best campaign that 343 has made. i would say the halo infinite campaign is the second best campaign in franchise history. from a single player standpoint, it's a pretty amazing game to play. i uninstalled it after rolling credits, so i can't speak on multiplayer because i don't do online gaming.

As a solo campaign player through all the games but the Halle wars games, the campaign was masterclass halo after the first couple weeks of patches. That said, I was climbing things and looking for off the cuff interactions which I accept increases glitches. That said, these execs never address that they were trying to focus on an SP game. W they probably would have had more luck with a solely SP sold infinite campaign have been amazing with a staggered release of a season 0.5 of free to play PvP. Follow up 6 months later with the deluxe edition that included a match and map editor into the F2P PvP with asset unlocks tied to the solo campaign for so synergy. It could have been a master class in “how to utilize and ancient franchise? (could I say a… Forerunner in the industry?)” As far as missing features like coop all they’d have to say is “it’s a new engine on a split generation, and we really believe in the plot and wanted to focus on that.” But no, no.

The only thing I can say is Bonnie Ross force Microsoft to continue Halo. That’s the only good thing she’s done. Maybe not all & every issues is her fault but it is leadership to not correct the problems. Now we must remove the 2 other prophets to give Halo a higher chance for improvement

Halo CE on the original Xbox is still my favorite Halo. Countless hours at LAN parties and the campaign was so well done and mind blowing for the time (though the Library kind of sucks, but still good fun in co-op)

It was Phil Spencer that told the devs to use the specs of the 8th gen console the XB1 to try and make next gen games from. Instead of giving the devs the specs for the XBSX to actually make next gen games using current tech and not 10+ year old tech. So yea, it's not 343 Studios or Bonnie Rosses fault, it's all on Phil Spencer putting so much pressure on their devs to get these games done, and the results is Halo Infinite (The Train Wreck Edition). Just think about it and add a little common sense will lead you to the correct decision. The Xbox OG & XB360 were great consoles with great games. The XB1 could of been great as well, but in 2014 is when everything for Xbox started to go downhill and dropping the ball at every turn. Coincidence or not, that also happens to be the same year MS put Phil Spencer as the head of Xbox. Common sense should tell you that Phil Spencer is the one that is ruining the Xbox community and the future of Xbox. Who wants Cloud/Streaming gaming only or as MS is calling it a SaaS ecosystem only. MS is even advertising now >No Console Needed" great way to advertise to try an sell a console. No wonder why the PS5 is outselling the XBSS/X 2:1. The new Samsung TV with GamePass Preinstalled is the first proof that MS is taking Xbox to a SaaS ecosystem only and not making a 10th gen console, by going 3rd party. 16:17 Bonnie Ross had no family emergency, that was just an excuse. If it was a family emergency, they would of just gave her time off work, but she down right quit. She just dont want he name tagged to Halo considering Halo Infinite (The Train Wreck Edition) has become one of the worst games ever to be made in history. Hell Pong, Pac-Man, Pitfall ect ect Atari games are more fun to play then Halo Infinite (The Train Wreck Edition). She left 343 Studios to go work for a Sony or Nintendo Studio. Just like all the other lead devs that quit when MS acquires a new studio. 40% of the devs quit when Bethesda was purchased, Xboxes own Studio 343 can't even stand working onder Phil Spencer, so a lot of 343 devs are quitting as well. MS needs to get rid of Phil that way MS may stand a chance to be in the 10th gen. With all theses devs quitting should tell anyone that Phil Spencer has no clue on what he's doing and can't manage just the Xbox department. Edit: 17:12 Yea, MS has put out more merchandise then games. That's why I dont quite understand why people love the Xbox games so much when there aren't any new good one (except AOE4) and every game that does get released on Xbox is a Train Wreck. Soon we will be getting Starfield (The Train Wreck Edition).

Halo Infinite is a good game, but it is NOT flawless by any stretch of the imagination. There's always the hope that criticism can create miracles like Halo CE and Elden Ring. Something's wrong with the slipspace engine itself since Halo 4 and Halo 5 didn't need this long to become complete games. Maybe I shouldn't be bothered, but Halo means more to me than the average video game, darn it !
