I'd also like the MCC team to fix the Halo 2 physics since, if I recall correctly, they've been broken ever since the Season 8 update originally dropped. They removed the fall damage, which is in parity with og Halo 2, but they broke a bunch of other physics-related stuff as well

Unfortunately that only mattered to Halo fans, and only some. Halo MCC actually has less players than Halo Infinite on Steam and Xbox, and well, we all know that no one besides hardcore Halo fanboys give a shit about Halo Infinite, so that should tell you what the world thinks of Halo MCC. Nothing... They think nothing from Halo MCC because most of them don't remember it or even know of its existence. 343 shot that plane out of the sky years ago :/

I hope things get better. The sonic fanbase had a very similar spot of doom and gloom for 5 years after forces released, but things changed for the better after the movie was released. Speaking of adaptions, I hope one day we can get a sequel to halo legends. Its one of the best video game adaptions and it sucks it never gets any praise because of how poorly it was advertised so most people don't know it exists, It was really ahead of its time, Plus Halo seems to really work well with an anime style hell CE was built off it in conception.

People tend to really forget that there is a lot of parts of halo armor that attachments dont change. Like Mark VII and SPI for example since he decided to say they should share the same core. MK VII and SPI look inherently differently. The forearm armor, the bicep armor, the chest rig system, the legs, undersuit, everything. Attachments dont change those, those parts all stay the same even if you add a different shoulder pad or slap on a new piece of armor over the chestplate. Thats why despite the fact cross core attachments are coming, we are still getting new cores. Because their overall asthetic still changes how the additional attachments effect them

New management has already made major improvements, next step is cleaning up the customs browser and getting forge maps into matchmaking. Fun to play the new levels but for some people they really want to work towards challenges too. Id like to see future seasons to include like 10 of the best forge maps created during the previous season, plus a couple 343 maps.

I think you really hit the nail on the head with the lack of new content. I saw a reddit comment a few months ago that predicted the same release schedule of "one gun and map every quarter with maybe some extra equipment if we're lucky". it's pretty clear Forge is going to allow the fans to add all the community-favorite maps from Online but it feels dirty for 343 to get the credit for a lot of that.

Let me attempt to put my feelings as an "old" halo fan in food terms. Imagine you found this incredible pizza shop in town. Let's call it Joe's, for brevity, and they made the single greatest pepperoni stuffed crust pizza that you've ever had. So much so that when folks say "pizza" they mean "stuffed crust pepperoni pizza" from Joe's. Imagine it just got better and better for a decade plus, then Joe's got bought by another company and f*cked the whole thing up by trying to beat Pizza Hut and Vocellis, but the new owners recipe made the cheese taste weird, they cut back on pepperoni, and didn't put as much effort into the crust. The box said "Joe's" but nobody gives a damn anymore because they aren't special anymore. Now imagine 5 years of that diminishing quality, then one of the OG cooks gets hired back at Joe's and starts making the sauce better, and packing the crust with cheese again. It's a step. It's better, but it's still not where it used to be.

I want to enjoy Halo. I want to enjoy their updates. I want to enjoy their improvements. Unfortunately, I can’t enjoy any of it without having to jump through hoops in my head and look past their bad decisions. Of all the aspects in the game, the one I enjoy most and have devoted years of time to just so happens to be the one 343 have been actively trying to eradicate: trick jumping & Halo movement. When I’m punished for playing and showing my care for a game, I struggle to enjoy it and no longer want to play it. It absolutely sucks.

I sincerely hope that it only gets better from here! But time will tell. I’m still hesitant to put my full trust in 343. Especially with their seeming reluctance to admit when they’re wrong or listen to the communities feedback. They may be the holders of the mantle but they have to prove they’re worthy of the responsibility. This update is a great step forward, but they still have a long way to go to get the community back on side.

See, what I see with Cores is that they'll be the base for customisation because either way you look at it even if it was all on one thing you'd still need to select an underlying base which all the armor will go onto so for me the cores is just that and that for me will continue if they add cross core customisation just choosing the base armor say spi then throwing on all reach armor ontop of it to get a mix between the styles

I don't see a lot of people talking about the coatings problem anymore. 👀 In past games we could choose what colors we wanted in at least 2 distinct regions of our spartan's (AND ELITE'S!) armor. Why not get rid of coatings, and let us choose from all standard colors for all 7, yes there are 7 now, color regions in Halo Infinite? This could easily be monetized as well, by selling us special colors like metallics or camo patterns. So I see no excuse to continue to limit player expression as they have.

On the topic of adding new weapons, what I think is more important is to make the existing weapons actually worth picking up. If you made the Ravager decent it would basically have the same effect as adding a new weapon because right now it may as well not exist.

343 really doesn't need to be celebrating rn in my opinion. I'm really glad they've gotten a few Ws under their belt the past couple months, but Halo has been in a bad place for a lot of people for 10 years. There's a lot of bad blood and disappointment in the community still and, like you said, that trust needs to be earned back. The MCC team should enjoy their victory lap and the Infinite team deserves a long sigh of relief now that they're on the right track. 2023 is gonna be a very important year for them and I hope they knock it out of the park.

Since 2001, there have been exactly 2 franchises I was loyal to… dragonball and halo. Now, there’s exactly 1 franchise I’m loyal to and it’s DBZ. I watch content update videos and I’m so frustrated at the features that are STILL missing. 343 has dropped too many balls too many times after telling us they wouldn’t anymore. They have ruined my love affair with halo. I tried to give it a shot with my old ranked 4s crew, told them I’d buy everyone pizza and beer and we ought to try it out after the last update. They ALL SAID NO and I wasn’t even that disappointed cuz I didn’t want to experience more frustration. Thank the lord for MCC, I’m actually open to some of the advanced movement stuff but old halo is good halo and 343 have in every way let me down. Oh, and please don’t buy that merch - the revenue they make from everything BUT making a good halo game is why they have been able to butcher the franchise with no repercussions. Please Stop giving them money for plastic crap, you’ve worked hard for your disposable income and 343 has worked hard on under delivering what should have been low hanging, crowd pleasing fruit.

Whenever they mention cross-core, I always assumed that the attachments that were restricted only to certain armor cores to cross over to other cores. The core will always be the core, it's your foundation of building your spartan's look. Attachments, shoulder pads, knee pads, wrist attachments, all of those, I assume, would eventually be able to be cross-core but not the base bare bones of the armor. For example: The SPI armor, minus the helmet, is the armor core base. You can't just put the MK VII chest on it, that breaks out from the core of the SPI, but, you can put, say a chest attachment from the MK V onto the SPI. That's what I think they mean by cross core

It's good to hear that Infinite is at least doing better. However, I won't be playing it unless they add in playable Elites. It's the only thing I've wanted from Halo since Halo 4 released without them a decade ago. Unfortunately, I just don't get anything out of Infinite that I can't get out of MCC otherwise, and MCC tends to deliver a better experience anyways. It's truly sad that what are, IMO, the best looking Elites aren't playable even in some alternative game mode.

Personally I think the armor core system works in a way that differentiates the core style of the armor, mark v(b) has the smaller pack on the back and distinguishable bits on it that feel like reach, meanwhile mark vii has that halo 3 style armor at its core and in its design if that makes sense, I would love to mix some of these attachments between them, i but I want the core style of each armor core to remain, because I love that differentiation. I want to put the og mark v on my mark vii core, but I want it to be that thinner mark vii with the cool helmet I want. I feel like I can get very creative that way. I still want the cores to be there, but I want to be able to apply whatever else from other cores on to every core I want, or at least the cannon cores. They can even be separated, i.e. scroll up in helmets for a row of another cores helmets, kind of like black ops 2s create a class ui for the guns.

For Forge, I kinda wish they had a Gmod-style way to build stuff. I get the monitor being the forge character is iconic, but I'd like a way to easily, sloppily smack stuff together before I go into Monitor Mode and tweak it before it's perfect.

Definitely, but I don't think it will happen for 2 reasons. 1) Redoing the UI to put that whole system in would just be very low priority for the team, when so many more tangible things need created or fixed for the game. 2) As a F2P game, naturally they want every season to feel unique and fresh. While artificial to some degree, changing the menu, UI or other aesthetics can help create that feeling for the player.

A small thing that isn't talked about much: I really wish we could create our own armor sets (like the pre-made Carter, Emile, etc.). I love my ODST armor, but I would like the freedom to experiment more or to just change aesthetics quickly between matches. Especially now that the Reach armor core has a fair amount of customization options! It's just inconvenient to switch out every armor piece for the sake of experimentation just to switch every armor piece back to ODST if I don't find a combination that I like better. Hope that makes sense and hope this idea resonates so that we can convince 343 to improve this aspect of customization!

With cross core en route, I basically just see additional armor cores as just the first level of customization, basically you're just picking the under suit and base armor plating, and then with cross core everything else gets added on top of that particular under suit you've picked. I agree that we definitely need other specialized things like playable Elites again, it is seriously criminal that we lost playable Elites when 343 took over from Bungie.

My attempts to try to get back into Infinite have not been great. After months of not playing, I jumped on for the Winter Update to play 3 modes on the same (old) map and the free battlepass glitching and not unlocking the Reach core. Tried the customs browser recently and was underwhelmed. Probably won't touch it for a bit longer. I at least want the new action figures but for some reason distribution has been a nightmare. Could be the pandemic or bad management, but new wave releases just aren't really happening. It sucks because theres an Arbiter and Shipmaster pack i really want.

In reguards to weapons I feel should be added eventually I hope an SMG, pistol model part that makes it look much more like the suppressed odst pistol, hopefully a more classic harder hitting pistol with slower rpm akin to the ce or halo 3 magnum and the classic shotgun maybe with a model part making it look like the CE shotgun since that one was rather unique. In reguards to cross core customization I feel the best way to do it would be to overhaul the current system with a somewhat new UI that does away with the side scrolling images and brings back the drop-down menu. The way I'd like to see it would be that of still having an appearance like what we have now with the spartan based core being the central peice and other stations being used for other races like the elites, brutes and maybe even others like the jackals and grunts, but when you select the spartan core or any of them there is a initial selection of a current core that would be used as a base to add stuff onto it which you can change at any time, next would probably be the helmet, shoulders, chest etc. buttons that would open up another menu list with a few options for filtering the selection said filters being which season said item was released (or supposed to be released) and the initial core said item was for as a way to make accessing a specific peice much easier than just scrolling through a halo 5 list (please not again) after those selections I would hope there to be the armor/active effect options as well as color options (coatings could be included as color options I hope that one day we could make our own coatings because the system is nice with what it can do it just needs more player priority) on top of all of that I'd want to implement a save system so you could save your current armor apparel and make another from scratch and be encouraged to experiment without having to remake what you already made. I do feel an overhaul like that would be a good idea and would open a lot more doors than what we currently have. Implementing potential elite based cores with other options to potentially mix different armor peices from over the years so we could have honor guard peices mixed with other ones for elites because they haven't been done right since halo 3. I hope that if elites are reimplemented they are given as close to the amount of customization that spartans have and that if they end up having a different size than our spartans that their armor effects be adjusted and scaled properly.

I really want spartan ops to return playing through stories as my MP Spartan was great seeing other people’s Spartans with their own flare and colors was a highlight for me back in 4 I love firefight and all but I also love completing objectives and having a sense of progression I’m not holding my breath but I hope that with the online Coop we get some sort of spartan ops like mode in the future

The Mp story should be Spartan Ops. I don't get why we haven't seen anything like that since Halo 4. Like I know it wasn't the most varied experience but learning from that, they could make it better.

I feel it would be smart if they transitioned the cores to essentially armor loadouts. Each "core" would have all armor components available to them so then we could have some of our favorite combos ready to equip

Every time I've selected multiple forge items and connected them into one object, or what I assume is a prefab - they never show up in the prefab tab. Is this a bug or have I just been doing it wrong?

I'm optimistic with how the winter update was handled, however, I do 100% agree with you that only the bleeding has really stopped. I only just picked H:I back up after months away since the tactical slayer "cyberpunk" event ended because Season 2 just failed to get me on board in every sense. But the winter update is alright so far, MCC is still where it's at, though.

None of my few MCC friends wanted to join me in Infinite due to how the rhythm of this game has been since launch, I even admit to have been "burned out" with the game before the Winter Update but everyone must admit, that update alongside the other one where the Customs Game Browser came in alongside other welcoming changes did bring my love for Halo back and even got me to level up the Season 2 Battle Pass, it felt really nice to play again after those changes. Those 2 updates were a step in the right direction, it still has a looong way to go but at least they managed to bring some hope back into me as a fan of Halo overall (has been a bit tough to love this game)
