Chris Gore, Alan Ng, and some special guests discuss the good and bad coming from Hollywood. Is Halo going to suffer the same fate as Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and everything else. What about Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight?

Hollywood: We’re going to do a Halo show. Fans: sounds great! You’ve got so much source material to draw from, so this should be an exciting venture. Hollywood: yeah, we thought we’d skip all the lore and source material and make up our own story. Fans: …….. Why? Hollywood: so we can tell our own story and not be burdened by the accomplishments and hard work of other writers. Fans: WHY Hollywood: because we’re bunch of narcissistic hacks that couldn’t write a screenplay for a doughnut without fucking it up. Here’s the thing about Halo… It’s like a chef having all the ingredients for an incredible meal, plus the recipe. On top of that, the chef has a lineup of customers who want exactly what is in that recipe. So obviously, the chef throws those ingredients in the trash, burns the recipe, then creates a meal that NOBODY who showed up for the meal would want. It doesn’t matter if the Halo series is pleasing to some, or has shining moments. It is disrespectful to everyone that built the Halo universe from the ground up, and all the fans that helped pay for it. I won’t watch something that, by it’s very nature, is an insult to me personally. If you want to make a Halo show - play the fucking game and read the fucking books. Take your hubris out of the equation and honour those that came long before you.
@EliSkylander

What you said at the end, "take your hubris out of the equation." That hits the nail on the head. For about a decade now we've seen the ascendence of the mindset "the past was stupid, we are better because we are futurer than the past was!" A Progressivist religion, in ways. But now it's gotten so frenetic that they don't even honor the recent past-- as much as 20 years of a franchise like Halo. But they can't avoid the reality of their decisions. They think they can improve on the most recent past; hell, they can't even understand it! They're trying to unmoor themselves from the greatness of the past, and trying to unmoor the past from itself, too! But enough people are still alive that they can't get away with it. So all they do is drag IPs into their progressive abyss, trashing all but our memories of the past as they try to convince us that they are the future. They think they are better than ANY past- even the recent past! And for those of us who grew up in that past... watching them wreck all the good things we handed to them is infuriating.

My only criticism to your perfect comment above is that fucking should have been in all caps. Thank you for voicing the opinion the the whole. Maybe some rich idiot is listening and will make the decisions to avoid another captain marvel incident. Only time will tell. Keep fighting the good fight Brother.Respect.

Here’s one last thought: If you need to trample over all the lore, source material and fans, to present a product that only appeals to the normies who never even supported the franchise, you shouldn’t be making the damn show.

Chris, I agree that most young actors don't have the gravitas that older ones do and this is why the level of acting doesn't satisfy me. After experiencing so much good writing, directing, and acting, I find myself bored with the present movies: Take a line of dialogue and rearrange it, shake the camera while using snap zooms so that the audience can't see the movie they paid to see, and just hit your mark then yell your lines.

Chris, I love your insight, reasoning and logic concerning the problems in Hollywood. It's time for new studios to spring up in different geographic locations. I can see authors taking their profits from their books and rolling them into making a movie.

Somehow I dont think Chris will like Halo after Episode 3 considering the showrunner has already said it will focus on the human element of the main story for the girl (who hates the Spartans). They are deconstructing Master Chief as per the usual Agenda. Also they should of left the helmet reveal until the finale of the show. I have my great memories of Halo Games and this not for me.

Chief, takes off his helmet in the first episode!?!? Pass, hard pass. Pure Halo Blasphemy. I get that adapting one of the most stoic characters in video games, and that you want to try and humanize him so that he appeals to a greater audience.......... but you are not supposed to see the chiefs face. Ever. Under no circumstances. Unless you are telling the last Halo story to end all Halo stories.

Could not give a flying flip about any of the Wammenzez in the show. By their very numbers, they are automatically broken, stupid, and story breaking, valueless, characters, going in. A bunch of well cast guys can gel together to make the story. A bunch of gals kills it. Guaranteed. Therefore, the show writers have automatically shut themselves off from any sympathy for 80% of the characters as perspective, going in. Congratulations. Feminism. Which means the only thing of interest was the first combat scenes. Aside from the blatantly anti-white bias of killing every white /child/ (Do you understand the implied genocide folks? Do you get that the Chinese kids live because the white kids are murdered with fentanyl provided by the chinese kid reference?) in the opening drugged up hippy scenes... Militarily, it's blatantly incompetent. Even from a 'futurist' standpoint. It's just a bunch of stuntmen in suits doing _very_ awkward, Power Rangers level, fighting. Spinning side kicks that don't connect. Ducking energy swords that wouldn't connect if 117 stood there and did nothing. This is 1960s level fight choreography. And it doesn't even look good from that stand point because it is /so ponderous/. Which highlights the overall stupidity of having a 7ft tall warrior class who, in real life, could not even duck through most doors. Who would constantly be hitting light fixtures. Who couldn't get prone and would always struggle to hide behind cover. Soldiers bulk up because the nature of what they do requires them to have a power lifter body to counter the sheer weight of all the armor, ammo and supporting (water, first aid, batteries, ammo for the SAW) they carry. images03.military.com/sites/default/files/styles/full/public/brightcove/videos/images/posters/2017/07/31/77374810001_1997995348001_901868133-176-1354218616978.jpg?itok=X5022Rqy But they do NOT get 'bigger' like a tyrannosaur. Because big people tend to be slow people, for the simple reason of more body mass and slower-longer nerve induction pathways to lower quick twitch muscle fiber/bone ratios. Can we talk about how quiet the fight is? Sound is a weapon folks. It is the rock and roll fury of combat. Even with suppressors, a full auto gun fight is LOUD. You may not hear it inside a sound suppressed helmet with ear plugs and bone conduction mikes. But outside, it's deafening. Sustained autofire is about 145-155 decibels for each shot, building to a peak of 165-170db for machine guns and sustained bursts. So loud that, without hearing protection, you suffer immediate, permanent, hearing loss. A grenade starts at around 165db but at close range or in tight, channelizing, spaces may be 200db or more. A mortar round is around 190 decibels. The shock of combat is so loud that just the auditory impact will put most people on their faces, unable to move or think. Because, as long as you have an open body surface (face) to the air, you will receive the transmitted acoustic wave. And even armor only partially attenuates this. Anything over 210-220db is fatal. So imagine a line of air bursting rounds which height of burst too loud to be denied by even Covenant. Imagine a military which decides that, to save lives, they have to end a few because they have to SUPPRESS THE LANDING ZONE for their elite infantry to have a safe vertical envelopment breach into the active combat zone. Then you have the blatant stupidity of the tactics. Especially when facing a threat without weapons which solve for the shielding issues, you would always, always, ALWAYS join up into a unit formation which could cross cover each other. One or two would probably jump in with the equivalent of a squad automatic weapon. Ensuring that there was a base of fire which could rapidly shift to form interlocking beaten grounds which destroyed the Covenant with their lumbering, single combat, 'duelist' approach to warfare. The others, while their shielded body armor and squad datalinks have allowed them to advance in dispersed formations (either a wedge, crescent, box, or column, depending on the LOS obstacle field) rather than stacked up would be fire-and-maneuvering by grenades to devolumize the locations where Covenant could be firing from cover while while applying maximum, multiaxis, projectile impacts to any weak points in the shield lace of heaviest threats first. If a Covenant stood up, _every Spartan_ would light him up. There is no 'assigned kill count' of personal combat. If one of your squad mates is taking on two enemy, you ALL pour fire on those enemies. Because even disaggregated, you are still supporting each other with deliberate cross fires. That's kind've the point of heavy body armor. Mass fires, not forces. Maneuver to target not to engage. Shoot-shoot-shoot, reload and shoot again. No Gymkata bullcrap by 1,000lb super soldiers. Powerslides and duck and role, at most. Protect your weapon don't 'holster' your rifle on a back mount where it's another 2-3 seconds to bring it back into play. There are no 'finishing moves'. You engage as quickly as you can and move on. Because you are there to do a mission. In this case, that mission is to establish a protected no go zone, separating the MAJORITY (cannot save them all) of civilians from the bad guys by denying them LOS on the friendlies. There are a number of ways to do that but it all comes down to access to the firelanes from which to shoot by using EXPLOSIVES to dislodge and direct fires to kill exposed enemy. There is no point in having a sniper rifle at these distances unless the heavy caliber is needed to overmatch the threat protection. And even then, as an M4 with Beowulf mod will punch most engine blocks and just about any windshield of brick wall, so too is it UNNECESSARY to have single shot, five round mag, 12.7mm, sniper weapons here. The same goes for duel wielding magnum pistols. That's all nonsense from the gladiator style PvP combat of the games. It has NOTHING AT ALL to do with real world combat, just on sheer weight of carriage. If HALO wanted my interest while doing 'other than game' stylized story telling, this was the point to begin to break away from the classic story telling. Not racially and gender bigoted characterizations which automatically (Indian vs. Chinese, who is the victim/hero who is the tyrannical, child killing, despot = WHO ARE YOU PANDERING TOO??) do nothing to carry us to the point where **HALO** can become the primary character. Which is the final point here. Desert worlds do not equal 'strange new alien environments'. They equal lack of money or technical ability to do what Cameron managed to achieve with Pandora- e3.365dm.com/20/01/768x432/skynews-avatar-2-concept-art_4886699.jpg?20200109072810 m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BMTkxMjkzMzAwNF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwMDc3MTUzNA@@._V1_.jpg More than 12 years ago. HALO is dull. It is desperate. It stinks of no-talented story writing which lacks any intuit of creativity. In the combat portions of the action. Throw in the blatantly political, anti-white, anti-male, messaging of the storyline and you have a story which also has no heart. Because the _endgame_, if you can sit still for all the political horse shit, is to reach the ring. As a discovered treasure which the characters don't know about. But which we already do. Do you understand how universe _ignorant_ people have to be to fail to comprehend that simple truth? What is fun about Halo and particularly Halo-CE is that you are dropped into this world about to explode and have to fight your way out of it's stagnant, 2D, rat warren maze of a ship. To reach a world where literally EVERYTHING is wondrous, open and beautiful. And then you fight to figure out what is going on and what the hidden, dark, secret is. They have turned the immediate wonder of waking up on Halo assembling your army and fighting to control The Ring and tried to change it into a kind of Indiana Jones style archaeological mystery. With Wammenzez In Charge political sit-and-talk nonsense as the vehicle for carrying the show. The Showrunners have to be CREATIVELY RETARDED, with no imagination whatsoever, to have not seen what they are doing here to destroy the property they are trying to Silver Timeline make into something it can never be... One and done.

You played CP2077 on a base PS4? I waited a full year and played a good chunk of it and it was an acid-fueled fever dream. Liked the story/concepts but got tired of getting hit by invisible cars, getting combat music kicking in 30s after it's all over but the crying, just anything taking 10 to as much as 30 seconds to full render... many of those cars looked like one you get a meatball sub delivered and it's wrapped in aluminum foil. Conveniently they did a new massive patch, reworked everrything... just as I finally received a PS5. Started when taking a break from Elden Ring, SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better.

This Halo TV series is a complete woke disaster! The characters have absolutely no charisma, the acting is horrendous, the special effects are really bad, the plot is ridiculous and even the producers have publicly admitted that is not related to the games at all. It' one of the worse, most lore disrespectful shows ever made. If you want some serious well made Halo shows, watch Halo Forward Unto Dawn and the Halo 3 TV commercials, because they're far superior with a much smaller budget.
