Halo MCC: Halo 3 Campaign Mod- Flood The Ark

Hello and welcome back to another Halo 3 mod showcase video! In this video, we continue looking at another Floodified version of Halo 3's campaign. This is Flood The Ark Overhaul, once again created by Sophistry666!

Just like the other Floodified overalls, Sophistry666's goal is to bring a new way to play through The Ark. There are a few changes to this level including:
- Flood enemy encounters
- Flood skinned vehicles
-Updated cinematic to reflect Flood ships
While the fog isn't present here, Sophistry666's has fixed quite a bit of bugs that were present in previous levels. The only slightly noticeable bug is that Flood will sometimes attack their own Phantoms and Scarab. Other then that it plays flawlessly! The Ark overhaul is another great addition to the Flood Campaign and I highly recommend giving it a go!

I think another idea would to do Halo, but instead of just Flood, maybe put in some Covenant fighting the Flood and Sentinels for control of the Control Room, like a throwback to Two Betrayals in CE

@Kayoshie Flametail Would be a good idea for areas where there is incoming phantoms. Or for example scarab fights can be actual Covenant forces still - as they're able to put up as much of a fight as the humans.

Awesome mod!!! Always wanted to see the flood use vehicles again in Halo 3, even though they don’t have proper animations. Suggestion/questions: Can you make the textures on the flood vehicles partially infected like how the Flood Exiles Mod did it with bits of bio mass attached to the vehicles? And also are you able to change the colors of the flood elite and brute armor to show their rank to make them distinguishable?

I've talked about adding biomass a bit, I'm sure it's possible but it is beyond my skills the last time I attempted it. As for the flood elites, don't know, it's something that I always planned to do but never got around to actually doing

Sophistry Maybe if you have dead elites in the rank or color be infected when they spawn because in Gamecheat13s Elites vs Flood, the Elite Zealots and Ultras got infected and kept the armor colors

Especially on the scarab bc a lonely infection form could not control the entire worm colony on the scarab unlike like it can on the hunters

@@realironsquid1701 For phantoms and pelicans you can only have one or the other. Adding UNSC vehicles to the enemy vehicle palette is possible I suppose but will take a while to implement and will most likely just break AI pathfinding

@@xXBarthXx Totally not something I have been planning to do for a long ass while lol But it remains to be seen how well cross importing assets from H3 and ODST works, currently in the flight it is pretty damm broken but hopefully it becomes more stable upon full release

Seems interesting if the flood came to the ark early but abit rushed kind of would be great if overgrown sacks of flood growths could had been added to the vehicles then just textures alone i think would have sold it abit more

Barth, I highly suggest watching Ruby’s Halo 3 Rebalanced mod. Especially the flood section where the flood have rank variants and different behaviors. This could greatly improve your flood mods.

Adding covenant takes a lot of time and is something that I don't even want to do always. The whole point of the mod is to get rid of the covenant because I am so sick of fighting against them lol. Same goes for the sentinels but it is something that I might end up doing

that's the one thing i always disliked about the halo 3 flood, they were too easy and break apart from just a few shots, in halo 2 they was the hardest and didn't snap like toothpicks, these wide open maps were just not meant for halo 3 flood lol they look so easy is why they can only be boxed in small cramped maps, but still great video

The creator said there was an issue with adding the Flood fog to this level so they decided to leave it out.

@@xXBarthXx Yep, the level is too big and has too different verticality between the sections of the level so I couldn't get the fog to work. I'm sure I can tinker with the settings a bit to get them to work, but my priority right now is to convert the rest of the campaign before the ODST update innevitible kills the mods

I have tried adding biomass to vehicles before but I could never get it to work (Either didn't appear or crashed the game). I'm sure with my increased proficiency with modding I could hack something up, but adding flood textures is way easier for me right now lol

I hope the sniper rifle does more damage to The Flood in Halo Infinite. It's never really packed that much punch against the rotting corpses that is The Flood. I mean, it fires 50 caliber armour piercing rounds doesn't it?

the sniper isn't meant to do much damage to the flood. in one of the books chief point blanks a sniper round into a flood form and its velocity makes a small hole in it which was instantly patched up by the form

14.5mm armor piercing fin stabilized discarding sabot. Basically a small, very hard metal dart going very very fast. AP rounds would probably not do much to the rotting bodies of the flood (as in the books). If they were more filled with sensitive organ systems they would probably have a bad time from the kinetic energy upon impact. But..yeah...about the flood being in infinite...

And I stopped watching at the part where he wastes the rockets on the prowler, drops the rocket launcher (ignoring the ammo that’s by the crashed Longsword) for a brute shot and doesn’t even at least give it to a marine so they can destroy the covenant with it. Lol
